Just got the box. This is the first time I have held a head alone, and I have to say they are heavier than what I thought. The metal work and milling marks are exquisite on these. Beautiful brushed satin finish, w/ a blasted cavity and face. Off to Mr. Kwok for some satin chrome tour concepts :tsg_smiley_yes: For anyone on the fence, these look superb. I have an original set of Gauge forged cavity backs, and my Kwoked satin Z101s, but for what I like these take the cake. Thanks Chris!!

Yours is the final version IMO some of the best irons ever made. For those wondering the difference between the protos and the final, the protos had black fill, a sharper leading edge and onsett. the final release version has very minimal offset, white fill and a more rounded leading edge.

Have played about 5 rounds with mine. Shafted with NS 1150 stiffs. First impressions are that they're very soft, softer than my previous MP60s. Very forgiving, seem workable both ways, look real nice, and are every bit as good as anything else out there. Too early for a detailed review but I reckon G-Field will establish itself as a serious brand with top notch products. I'm already playing the irons, the GFT fairway wood, and the M2+ proto. Will definitely be trying the driver as well once it's launched. You can really see that the company has invested heavily into developing a serious line of golf clubs. If you're looking for a set of forged CBs, you won't be disappointed with the G-Field NC-1s

For those wondering, the comparison shots have the orginal Gauge forged cavity back (from 2 years ago). Tough to tell in the pics, but the NC1 is more compact w/ a thinner topline. Less bulky altogether. Again, very crisp lines. I can't wait to get them shafted up and in play. Did not start the season looking for anything, but after seeing these from Chris I had to give them a whirl.

These are going to sell themselves once the reviews are rolling in. Those pics were under my desk light, so hopefully I can get some better ones w/ sunlight this week. I am a residential architect by day, and the cavity milling is very appealing to me. These are really a work of art. I am glad the leading edge on these is softer than the protos, because it still seems to have plenty of bite. Thanks again Chris!

Those look fantastic, I can see why you admire the milling marks so much as even I, who am much more comfortable performing sledge-o-matic tear down work as opposed to quality craftmanship constructive type stuff find them attractive. And I wasn't even going to consider buying irons this year. Another good intention ruined by a set of pictures. Can't wait to see what these will look like with the TC shafts in them.

Those are some nice looking irons. If I was looking for new irons those would be on the list.

Yeah... been there done that. I was playing great the end of the year w/ my setup, with nothing on the horizon. Going to start this year w/ new irons, wedges, and driver. Good thing I was not in the market for anything :)

Appears to me that yours are not the protos per Chris's description. I have a set of the same heads and was thinking that they were not the prototype.

i still cannot find a location on how to buy the nc1 heads. what does a set of heads cost? also, compared to the gd ncs irons, which is more forgiving?

I don't know exactly what set comes from where myself. The paintfill and finish is identical, I could barely even tell hitting them side by side which comes from where. A few sets were done with black fill and those were from Endo. I think even some of the white paint fill were as well. In regards to grind differences there are some but I'm told not enough to notice unless you designed it.

These irons are ridiculously easy to hit, even for a 13 handicapper who hasn't played more than 18 holes in 5 months. I played mine for the first time on course today and couldn't be happier. Six of nine greens in regulation..........I was very pleased. Just a damn solid iron. I've had several sets of Gauge irons (MB's, Handmade CB, and now these). After flippin back and forth between god knows how many sets I can honestly say that Gauge is the best, hands down. Looks and performance, what more can you ask. Now if I could just get those PRGR 900's out of my head..............

Lennie i can back up everything you just said! i too have had the nc1s, the handmades, the mbs and the mb2s.....this set is by far the easiest to hit, equal top quality feel (maybe not as mushy, which i prefer) and super distance.........i thought the handmades where the best set i ever owned...THESE TOP THEM! :tsg_smilie_cool:
