thanks! i would prefer em au naturel! Lol i see that your gaming all yonex driver and woods! you need to game the yonex nanov ryo irons they are awesome! or the Ryo MB yonex that chris is putting up for sale soon . BTW nice audi! rs series by any chance?:)
-
nice ! wel need to see a pic of your whats in the bag
-
these could be the ones to solve your ute woes!
-
Nice looking forward to your review! I was eyeing these and the RC trc. In the end I chose the RC only Bec of the shape. Hope I made the right decision.
-
i gamed it for a couple of weeks but passed it on to my dad. i like it a lot, very forgiving but has more spin compared to the 102. that is the only reason why i gave it to my dad. nothing wrong with more spin, i just preferred the deeper face and characteristics of the 102.
-
i like the new PB, considering a #3 but worried that it is too narrow and that the zero iron or srix zut could be the more forgiving option.
-
oh yes most defintely. the fex proto in this would be stellar! hard to beat
-
nice club, very forgiving and a not overly deep face. mid spin, mid launch depending on what loft you choose. do remember that the shaft is key. if i was not gaming the 102 this would be my second choice.

yup i remember that story. did he ever use a driver? are his irons proportionately long as well? i have to agree with you, the adams super black is the prettiest shape for a hybrid imho. super well balance and a hybrid in every sense of the word. feel was actually ok for me, i shouldnt have been a JDM snob and kicked it outta the bag. i think the RC is close except its more compact.
-
nice bag! how do you like the modus shafts?
-
well yes a standard 5 wood is 18 degree but it is played at 42.5 vs 40.5 for the 17 hybrid. all things being equal the wood will go longer. i find the hybrids easier to hit though as i can hit down just like my irons. cant do that with a wood. the hybrid also serves different purposes as it can be used on the fairway, rough etc etc. the heavier head is there to make getting out of the rough easier.

the MBs interest me, although out of pure curiosity. im eyeing the Utes as they have the perfect shape for me. just bothered by the comment of dead feel. i know feel is subjective but i certainly dont like dead. if its a dead comparable feeling which is similar to the adams hybrids then that is ok:) that zero iron has been on my mind ever since they were released, the 20* looks mighty tempting. id like to see a review versus the srixon z-ut in the same loft! thanks chris

ok the verdict is in. this club is way too long for my needs. this is very nearly as long as 5wood distance, probably longer but much easier to use. i dont carry a 5 wood. i need a 200-215 club that is versatile from anywhere, the 17 is just too long and utilizing half swings will not provide the nice high carry trajectory i desire but baby stingers that never hold the green. also i did not get a long with the shaft. even with hybrids i fair better with super stiff lighter shafts, flex of the ut75s is alright but feels like a mace with the 75 gram shaft. whats weird is i had a 18 super hybrid from adams with an aldilla 85s shaft that was way livelier than this combo and we all know usdm shafts are much boardier. i was thinking of re-shafting this with a quattro md shaft but what is the point, with this shaft it may even be longer and higher than with the existing shaft which will make my problems worse. so with much regret i am going to get the 20* instead. i dont have any use for this 17*. i could re shaft it with the quattro md and play it at 42.5 and essentially play it like a 3w. id certainly to that but i love the RC TRC 3 wood so not a chance.

Well I reshafted the club with an ozik f6m2 shaft and the club is playing much much better. The ozik and the original gd fw75s have same cpm around 270 but the ozik is around 8 grams Lighter and oh boy has made a world of difference. Ball flight is dead piercing and a lot lower than my egg and epon. Deeper face is not an issue after The reshaft. Get lots of roll out, ore accurate, I think this was the deeper faced wood I was looking for. I'm very very satisfied with the combo. Remember guys the shaft is key!

Actually it's 9. Quite a beautiful head. Will take snapshots Tom.

Shaft must be an oem made for, it's quite good, low launchlow spin, head is low spin. May Keep the combo for the head.

A step in the right direction at least. I wish I could putt as good as I drove the ball. -

Thanks chris, just wondering about the lofts, srixon is 18,20,23 are these 3,4,5 iron replacements? Lofts seem a bit strong For what I intend to use ut for. Need something similar to the 19 901 lengthwise. Would that be the 18 or 20 of the srixon ? I can bend One up or one Down to get the desired loft -
Guys looking for one for an experiments. Thanks
-
It's deep. A lot deeper than what I'm used to. Hopefully the experiment with the shaft works out. From the tee it is absolutely stellar although I'm limited By the current shaft. I think a cut down driver shaft would Suit this and bring life to the club. Too early to tell, need More rounds to form an opinion of the club

Guys a friend of mine built me a really crazy driver. It's called a team yoshimura driver that is apparently well Known in japan as a long driver. They have won many Championships. The club I got was the more forgiving 9deg 435cc variant. Looks good, feels good and shafted with a team yoshimura LD 01 driver shaft at 47 long. This thing is long but still kinda getting used to the length. On the times I hit it dead center I was easily 30 yards longer than My 102 .. If only I can get my batting average better. I would not Take this to a match, just to fiddle around with on my own. I may cut down the shaft to something more manageable. The head is Beautiful, feel is alright, I'm definitely keeping it. I will post pics soon. Any of you guys heard of these guys?
-
Gamed the club today, love the shape of the head, feel is superb but like the ute, I don't like the shaft. I think it feels dead which is disappointing . I am pulling the shaft and installing the ozik fm series which worked Stellarly on the egg. Hoping I can make the combo work for my Monday game. Club is not overly long but Is dead accurate. I think I would be able to squeeze more yardage with the ozik shaft. Will post pics soon.

Ok have another two rounds with the ute. Verdict, I think the problem is the shaft. Although it is relatively lightweight I find the feel a bit dead. It's not spectacular feeling, ball flight is ok but I was expecting more considering this Is an upgraded ut75s shaft from graphite design. I will try a little experiment and put a steel shaft in this one. I may opt for a nspro 850 steel fw shaft or a nspro 950 high trajectory shaft as used in my 22 9o1 and 4iron. Hoping that this experiment works. If not then il go back to the driving iron route
