TSG DEMO Club Testing and Evaluation Topic!
Spoon replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
DAMN!!! that is true golf porn!!! im torn between between the RC and yamaha. the yamaha is just beautiful. would you say any of these would be superior to a mom and pop outfit like SDJ or Kenmochi? -
same with me. when i had my 151 would manipulate the tee height depending on the hole i am playing. with the 102 i will also do the same although i like teeing it up higher (half the ball above the ground) ! love seeing that sucker soar into the heavens!

[quote name='supo67' date='26 May 2011 - 08:11 PM' timestamp='1306411869' post= id go the quadra proto as well before the tp the quadra proto is as good as any. Quadra proto 7x!!! You want to keep it simple, get that carry you desire, tight dispersion and lots a roll this is it. Feel is fantastic. You cant get it wrong with this one. With the crazies you have to get one that's right For you and I know guys that have tried at least 5 before the holy Grail was found. Just something to consider

Quadra experts pls chime in, What to get FEX 65S OR FEX proto 65s
Spoon replied to Spoon's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Another round under the belt, the shaft keeps exceeding my expectations. Right when I think I have Maxxed out its potential it surprises me yet again. Because of the increased confidence in my swing I am Able to tempt the shaft to aim in places I would never dare before. Like I said was able to lower the tram with some fundy Changes and the shaft has reacted splendidly. It is definitely lower spin than the fex. For those that have the ss have no fear. Only thing that could give this shaft a run for Its money is the proto 7s. Was chatting with Gary the other day and he reckons I will get an even tighter dispersion and no loss of distance moving up to the 7s. Only a difference of 6-7gs and 2cpm, this could even Smoothen out my tempo so will give that a shot. Not for this head though as the combo is a wicked mix that absolutely wil not be butchered. Maybe when my red devil epon 360cc arrives will consider the 7s. Til then chap! -

Well my dad has one of those 100sets w graphite shaft. Will post pics -
yeah T you too! was so set on the yamaha but your comment about the tinny pop of the yamaha and the softer impact of the RC sealed the deal. that article of yours on the twin rail is a sticky on my laptop! thanks to everyone!
-
you do know that i decided to get this over the yamaha because of your review? i even changed my original 20* to the 17! thanks man youve helped me a lot.

those Protos were my first choice, must have stared at them for hours when they first came out. practiced a lot of self control. and 13 bounce is perfect for a sw imho, especially where i play in.

Like the wedges. Seen a few of their really old stuff on sale locally. Are these these the same guys that made the akira pride wedges?
-
Well for forgiveness nothing beats the epon 210 kgx w a longer heel to toe, larger face makes it very forgiving. Only downside for me is that it was conforming and had less spin from the rough. I have sine moved on to kenmochi And loving it. From what you mentioned I'd suggest RC as they seem to be more versatile than the yururi and mochi. Check out the japan vokey wedge, looks exactly what you are looking for. Good luck

Got a set already and traded it for the 360 of Simon. Thanks G

Not using the egg anymore. Back to my 202ht 15deg with ozik f6m2 shaft.
-
I am mistaken the 380 is different from the 360. Now I want a 380. If anyone has one I want one as well I will buy it or trade it for some high end jdm goodies. Pm me thanks

Yeah really good with the proto. Have it dialed in, was actually able to lower my launch angle with some fundamentals. Really satisfied and I can't complain. Not touching this combo anymore. It will remain as is for the time being. Others though may not be able to handle this as it has less spin than the 65fex non proto. What I though as soft was actually the kick of the shaft , I like it . I had a friend that tried it he prefers the non proto. Guess it's a case to case basis. -
Epon technity 380cc experiment. Reviving old classic
Spoon replied to Spoon's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Ah thanks I guess I will have to have both:) -
i just use one putter, having one im more consistent with the stroke but having more will just be more confusing.

Epon technity 380cc experiment. Reviving old classic
Spoon replied to Spoon's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
yup thats the one! mine however says technity 360 on the sole. is this a 380cc head? i have heard that this is one of epons longest drivers to date and a perennial favorite. hear its even longer than the 102 provided you can hit it in the smaller sweetspot. -
good points and i like the way you manage your game. ive decided on the 17 as i can always choke down. there are two tight par 5s in my course so i am at times on the rough, my current set up i use my 22 deg and its a long iron for the 3rd shot. with a 17 i will get more distance plus the heavier head will make it easier to plop out. there are also times when my woods dont work on particular day so the 17 will fit nicely.
