guys have been noticing a lot of posts lately about other members seeking for the right combo of utes/irons to get the perfect yardage gap. for me its something completely a combination of all and it is driving me bonkers. im sick and tired of mental gymnastics so i ask the good ole boys to help me out here. right now i am absolutely killing my irons, 4-pw ryo nanoVs! they are traditionally lofted and the 4 iron is 24 degrees. i think i am confident enough to want the matching 3 iron 21* from the set if i can find it but know for a fact that this will be much more difficult than my 22* epon 901. thing is i am bored with the 901:) so i also got thinking, why dont i replace it with a #3 20/21 yonex zero iron when it comes out. but stew commented that i would hate this club so it looks like il have to stick with the 22 901 and look for a ryo 3i nanov for practice rounds. if all those go as planned wether i stick to the 901 22 or move on to a yonex 21 3iron or a yonex 20 zero iron that leaves me with the next piece of the puzzle. what loft to get in my hybrid? i am ONLY considering the TRC utility and originally wanted the 20* but with the very close proximity to the gaps of my 3i (replacements) i may opt for a 17* but worried it may be too long. however i am having a slump with my 17* egg spoon, i get these slumps when i am puring my irons so i cant be too hard on myself, one or the other so to speak. so looking for an all around ute that i can use in times of complete wood meltdown yet be able to use in 2 iron length. i know it sounds petty and all but choosing gear is the hardest thing to do most especially when you want it right away. thanks

has anyone gotten theres? im eyeing a number #3 to replace my epon 22*. its either this or the #3 iron from my nanov set.

Royal Collection - EPON - Fourteen - Yuruki

the rc protos look pretty hot. never owned a yururi but have owned a lot of kyoei and vega raw wedges and they are awesome. i was a fan of the epon 210s but actually prefer the 208. i game a 50 bent to 52 and a mystery 56 raw which i am really loving! but if i had to choose, any of the sdj and the rc prtoto set. those are nice -
have tried the ryomas they are good but did not see "remarkable" increases in distance for me to shift. but if i had to do it all over i would choose it. toss up between this and my older 102. giving the yonex another go and doing a head to head with my 06 epon 380:)

52 and 56 for me, solved the bounce problem. 56 has a bounce of around 6, so i open it up a little. i hardly use the 56 for full shots so opening up depending on my desired traj has helped a lot. for wedges its a personal thing, too many to single one particular brand out

unfortunately it left the day i got it for abroad. off to be refinished in old persimmon glory.

i have tried all these shafts on the 901: machline ut370 75, kbs tour hybrid, nspro 950 hybrid, super peening orange etc etc. in the end the best shaft i have ever tried on the 901 is the nspro 750 S flex! nice and perfectly weighted!

You already have the non proto right in 65xs? just use it in your gamer and should you ever have the wandering eye for another driver head, shaft it with the proto. either way you cannot go wrong with either shaft -
updated: new to the bag are Yonex Ryo ishikawa Cbs 4-pw with nspro 1050s flex and 102 w Quadra proto. have gamed the yonex for around 3 rounds. i definetely like them but i find the yonex cyberstar nanov from 06-07 softer and a tad more forgiving. this one is firm and more compact. love the shape! i love yonex, have always have ever since i gamed the older nano vs and swore to make ammends after selling that set. this one will stay in the bag! i however prefer the feel of my onoff cb247s. they are more forgiving and have a buttery feel. the yonex though is my main gamer and i see myself growing with this set. also love the combo w nspro 1050. obviously need more time with these sticks. for now here are the photos,

the devotions 7 5 launches pretty high as well. i guess what we perceive as "high" is relative. i think the main selling point of the proto is NOT the launch but the increased dispersion. for me the launch was a bonus, dispersion is the business of this shaft. -
i just re shafted my epon 22 deg 901 to fill the gap between my soon to be hybrid 19* and my 24* traditional lofted yonex 4 iron. the 901 is awesome, fell in love with it all over again. love it! but i still need a hyrbid, was debating between the TRC and Yamaha, but now i know what i want and its going to be the TRC in 19!

i noticed that if i wanted a lower launch i would tee it lower, normal tee (half the ball above the crown) get a nice high launch. as for the distance i never did compare the two. the 151 defintely has higher spin which is a good thing for most but not for me. i changed to the 102 and am a happy camper. i still have and game the 152 on my off days as this driver cant be beat in the forgiveness department. thanks for sharing this info. would have never discovered it on my own!

the leupold has the slope feature. nice , small, easy to lock and has the OLED feature. pretty useful in the blaring, glaring sun.

3 rounds under the belt and the results are only getting better. this shaft is defintely more stable. dont get me wrong the regular one is already pretty darn good but this one is the icing on the cake. do note i like my shafts to be higher launch and low spin, this is it! it launches and carries more than the regular and rolls out more too. its longer but not by a mile, was the same yardage in some holes but i am defintely in the fairway. my bad shots here tend to be pushes as opposed to the regular which i was mostly in the left side. this one though feels softer. i attribute this to the kickpoint of the shaft. they say it is mid kick but i would say its more mid-low kick which explains why it is higher launching than the regular. so what i attribute as softer is actually the kick or the snap of the shaft. as i have played it longer at 45.5, i find the swingweight heavier at d4.5. il probably game it twice more to assess wether i will tip trim or butt trim. will play this at 45.25" and will bring down sw to around d2.5-d3. so for those who fear the proto will play radically different or stout, have no fear. its quite friendly and is easy to get along with. you can baby it, be rough and it will be more than happy to deliver your package to the center of the target. its superior in my book to the non proto. frankly speaking both are remarkable but i think i like this one more. whats not too like? its everything i hoped the graphite design tour ad di was. for now quadra is my favorite shaft , i have no urge to try the other offerings. -
They are made in japan.
