The sound isn't too bad once you get used to it, especially when you're way down the middle of the fairway. In a way, sort of like the older Egg Spoon.
  3. Nic, Welcome to TSG! :) Check out the Forged Cavity Shootout reviews by Gocchin on the GolfToImpress blog. The 2010 non-tour model was a part of it. Part 1: http://www.golftoimpress.com/2010/08/forged-cavity-back-shootout-part-a1-design-and-aesthics/ Part 2: http://www.golftoimpress.com/2010/10/gti-forged-cavity-shootout-part-2-performance/ I'm not sure if anyone has seen the 2011 version in person yet. Make sure you demo the NS Pro 950 & KBS 90 shafts if you can so that you have an idea of what you can expect coming from the 850s.

I believe those are the same kind of fake wedges that were previously listed before. Seems like there's been quite a few of them that have been popping up from time to time.
  5. Taper tips are .355

Special, yes! Even more special if paired with the right shaft for you!! There have been numerous reviews, feedback, posts, comments, & a poll or 2 going back to the older version to support that. I had the older Spoon & based on others, the newer version is a huge improvement over its predecessor.

Demoed a Blue with a Epon 302 7 iron, The blue felt heavier than the KBS Tour & the ball flight was more piercing. Too heavy for me. The brown is listed with a low kickpoint & weight is much lighter, around 106 grams.
  9. Can't speak for the shaft since I haven't tried it but, maybe the balance/SW was on the heavier side than what you're used to?
  10. I know what you mean! Kind hard to explain why there's another 48" box that arrived when you have numerous clubs lined up on by the wall. I have 2 irons head sets in boxes to act as camouflage but, that only works when they're not shafted. I think the secret closet is the way to go.

The Anser should be taper tipped. There's a thread here confirming the size. http://www.tourspecg...ng-anser-irons/ Not sure about the Tourstage but, I would think that they are tapers as well since the graphite shafts are from GD. I could be wrong tho...
  12. Congratulations! You're going to enjoy hitting it down the middle! :) Epon makes great drivers!

and here I am trying to figure out how to save them from my graphite shafts... LOL
  14. Sorry, haven't had the chance to try Miuras. Hopefully, someone who has tried both will chime in.
  15. Love them! Logic says that I shouldn't be playing them but, they setup very well to my eye & for whatever reason, I seem to concentrate more on my ball striking when I use them. Soft, crisp & solid feel to them. Not as forgiving & buttery soft as the Epons but overall, they are great irons IMO.
  16. B, I would take your distance improvement anytime BTW, is it just your 7 iron distance that increased or including your 5 & 6? You might want to swap it or them out with the longer 502 irons if you now can live w/o the added forgiveness of the 701 or you could add a 701 8 iron to bridge the gap . Although, you would end up having 2 irons labeled "8" in the bag.
  17. Loft of the 502's 7 iron is 31* Didn't realize until now that they strengthened the 7-PW lofts from the 501s.

    Shimada shafts. http://www.shimadago...s-3001-105.html
  19. B, It might be a combination of the file size of the pics you're trying to upload plus your internet connection speed. The internet connection at home has been really shoddy lately & I wasn't able to upload any pics until I resized them below 1MB.
  20. So I finally decided to get of my butt & enter the digital age. Got my wife's hand me down iphone 3G activated. I'm still tinkering with it but, it looks promising although, the 3G signal could be better when I'm at work in the city.
  21. Hopefully Spoon sees this & chimes in later when he's up & about. I know he's hit the 202HT & new Egg Spoon.
  22. Been wondering the same thing about Mr. J... His presence is surely missed!

He mentioned it here sir. http://www.golftoimp...age-of-the-day/
  24. Welcome to and the wonderful world of JDM gear! They're still listed in the proshop with the stock photos but, they may no longer be available since they were released a year ago. Try going through the Gallery section (http://www.tourspecgolf.com/gallery/main.php) to see if there are any pics there.
  25. Not all shafts installed on clubs have a designation of where they are made in plain view. If it is indeed required to be in plain view when exporting to Japan(?), I would think that PRGR sees them quite fine prior to installing them.
