- The New BIG Gunz by Graphite Design!
do u know the characteristics of each model chris? graphics on all three are sweet!- Brushed Satin Mizuno MP-27's
O god chris they are so pretty! someone snatch his spare set before i get the temptation. :tsg_smilie_wink:- New Mizuno Japan Driver - MP003
mizuno just got funky! is this japan only or us?- Gfield
G field is gaue designs new liine that they are bringing to the states! Gauge Japan are remaining in Japan and they will now trade under the brand name Gfield in us. As far as i know they wil be exactly the same quality just with a different name. Have you actually got this gear yet chris?- The Most Popular Shafts in Japan!
the janapese market generally love the slightly more expensive - lighter weight shafts......both of which appeal to me ! need to get one of these penoez borons chris!!!!- Lookin for a new 3 wood, advice? wisdom? anything?
not a problem lance, happy to help. XST with the steel is a super club, and very good value at that! it is heavier than graphite but not as heavy as a standard stell 3 wood. flight is slightly lower with the nippon than say a low kick graphite, accuracy is good and distance is average. The feel of the overall club is very solid, yet cushioned or soft at impact due to the turbo rubber. This absorbs all vibrations and gives a lovely tingle in the hands! Its a great idea to have a steel shaft in your 3 wood as i feel driver = distance.....3 wood = accuracy.- forged cb suggestions??
sf, i would have to disagree with you on the Gauge vs Miura opinion. I have played both, i played miura 201s for a LONG time and found them very good, nice feel average forgiveness.....but when put agaisnt the gauge they crumbled! the gauge IMO feel much much softer, its a more pleasent strike......this actually left me thinking the miuras were quite firm. In terms of forgiveness the gauge are alot more user friendly. miss**ts with the miuras result in loss of distance and wayward, where as the gauge still had the same sweet feeling, still produce a high flight and fair distance! As for the scratch irons, they do rock! i would see these as mid way point from the miuras and the gauge - however if considering them you definately would need to keep them them for a long time as they do depreciate a lot! The original post was asking to recommend a forgiving forged cb............it all points to- TourStage X-UT
hope they do bring them out! or something along those lines. I only have experience with the tourstage turbo rubber inserts in my driver, but im sure it would feel great in a ut. ....- Tourspecgolfers WITB: October 2005
sam my friend there is absolutely no reason why you cant get one.....order of tourspecgolf pro shop! i live in uk and get stuff shipped to me all the time!!!! :tsg_smiley_yes: import gear is the way forward!!!!!!- The next Boron 1000.00 Shaft!
Hilarious! though i wouldnt complain if it happened! i have actually been on the look out for a new shaft so il have to get my act together and order one. The matrix ozik was 1000 bucks and IMHO wasnt even nearlly worth it - ( for my game anyway0 ! lets hope this import boron is an improvement.- The next Boron 1000.00 Shaft!
why is it when something mega expensive comes out, i feel the NEED to try it!!! it hurts my pockets so bad :tsg_smilie_wah: . chris if they agree i would definately do a test on one also ! :tsg_smiley_yes:- Gauge Design Japan MB2's **IMAGES**
im in the middle of hitting both and can honestly say that the only difference i notice, is that they mb2s are marginally smaller in the head. the nc 1s have a very slightly wider sole, and slightly higher face. But in terms of performance i am struggling to find any difference. i am finding both very forgiving with the same solid soft feel!- Lookin for a new 3 wood, advice? wisdom? anything?
Lance first off i have to say think ''import''. from my experience the import clubs are kind!!!! :tsg_smiley_yes: In terms of forgiveness im thinking of three..... 1.PRGR 2.MIZUNO JPX 3.TOURSTAGE XST Any prgr 3 wood i have tried has been unreal easy to hit, ive found they are generally shallow making it easy to hit high of the deck as well as very easy to work. the technology put into the PRGR clubs is top notch and their stock shaft is usually very good! however downside is the price. Next for forgiveness i would recommend the mizuno jpx. i am currently using this and have found it great. The ball launches of the face high and hot. Not the best for working the ball however it is very consitent in that i can hit high draw all day with it! Third option is the tourstage XST, which imo is the best looking three wood. this is also forgiving n- however not as forgiving as the first two - with a super soft feel at impact. the turbo rubber actually really works! when i had mine, i found it difficult to hit a draw with it (probably due to its dead square face) but getting her airbourne was no problem.- forged cb suggestions??
definately the shaft plays a massive roll in how the irons perform. im currently using the 1150 tours and boy are they alot more forgiving than the px. i can honestly say that you will not go wrong with either the tourstage or gauge design irons. VIQ forged would probably be the most forgiving forged iron ts produce at the moment..... In terms of forgiveness the gauge are untouchable, they really are soooo easy to hit. i just recently got the mb2s after using the nc1s and have not found any diffference in the forgiveness. if i were in your position id go gauge, however the new TS xblade 2 cbs are very tempting. :tsg_smiley_yes:- 5 Rounds with the new Diamana Red M-63!
Guys you really got me wanting both a red diamana and an axiv 6064. i previous bought a 6564 pullout that had been tipped over half an inch and it definately played too stiff for me. so untipped should be perfect! after playing today chris a new driver is badly needed lol! will definately have to discuss head / shaft options! :tsg_smiley_yes:- Tourstage X-ST Shaft Question
another factor to consider is that the nv is a tip stiff shaft that will MAKE the shaft feel much stiffer. what i would higher suggest is to play a few rounds with the stock shaft and see what the shot trend is. a slightly whippier shaft in your fw is not necessarily a bad thing!- Axiv in a low loft fairway wood
IMHO this is not a great idea for a fw. with your fairway wood it is better to have more spin on the ball. this would help get a higher flight, improve accuracy as well as make it eaier to control distance. if i was chosing an axiv for a fw the lightest i would go for is a 75g. In combination with this i would choose a mid kick as well as drop down a flex. ie 7560....60 = 6.0. To me a softer shaft in a three would makes it soooo much easier to pick of the deck as well as work. Hope you can choose one with all the options! :tsg_smiley_yes:- Axiv distance gains
poekie no its a 6564m! excellent shaft, lots of feel and lots of carry. this flex was too stiff for me however, but i could still tell it was an awesome shaft. this is a hidden treasure that chris has uncovered!- V-Steel Version 2 Images.....Cold day!
looks sweet chris. The area in which taylormade excel in my opinion is with their fairway woods. the 200 steel was dead easy to hit as was the v steel 1! Im sure they have come up trumps here and produced another forgiving sweet three wood. Looks funky too! :tsg_smiley_yes:- New 2006 Drivers for PRGR Titanium Mix T3
I take your point FAQ, lower spin drivers really only will aid the hard hitters and fast swing speed players! whereas for us average joes, the low kick shafts with higher lofts and higher torque. i love the feeling of bombing a high ball of the tee! :tsg_smiley_laughatyou:- Mizuno's New TS+ Driver
I have never had a mizuno driver and was just wondering does their quality equal that of their irons? This driver certainly does look sweet! any experience with mixxy drivers chris?- 5 Rounds with the new Diamana Red M-63!
great review chris, as you know i loved the blue diamana....the only problem i had with it was the ballooning effect it was prone to. This shaft seems to have taken all the great characteristics of the blue and made added to them by eliminating the high spin rates!!!! You say this is in your top three shafts.....what are the other two shafts? and on this point how does the forgiveness and distance compare to the axiv 6064 or 6060 you previously used? Cheers bud! :tsg_smilie_cool: - The New BIG Gunz by Graphite Design!
