S-Yard t.388 vs Epon Zero (which to choose)
and I'll take it if the price is reasonable ;)

Squaring the club face, blades vs CB.
havent seen them in person (no pun) but from the pictures they looked like longish blades with alot of offset (for a blade) so maybe what you have described is the reason for that offset there. unless you are talking hogan personals that is.

interesting observation, makes sense too. i suppose you should be happy, less chance hooking it off the planet with long irons ;) which blades you comparing to ? thing is, most modern blades have more weight moved towards the toe as well, shorter hosels etc compared to very old blades you almost have to shank to get to the sweetspot.

sometimes used to hit old nike 460cc driver off the deck, it was sumo or dymo or something like that, shallow faced. went really low but reasonably long enough with roll to make it fun and useful in some cases. cant do it with my current deep faced 425cc tho, at all, goes nowhere.

the only way it would cut the spin for you if the shaft/s you have replaced with it where really increasing the loft prior to impact. with nunchuk you are likely to have less dynamic loft than with more tip active shafts so thats the only way i can think of how it can actually help to cut spin. for deep faced drivers designs they exploit vertical gear effect to reduce spin. they can actually do more of that with deep faced head design than even larger volume but shallow designs. nunchuk should fight vertical gear effect, at least on paper. i did test nunchuk briefly and figured its not for me. its an interesting design idea and i like the fact that its heavy and stiff but it just felt like i had no idea whats going on with the clubhead and that just doesnt work for me because if i dont like something straight away after a few hits then i drop it because i dont wanna get used to it.

Withdrawn.
@jay showed the pictures of this bag to my wife and she said its nice bag and reckons there is nothing wrong with a man carrying a bag like that, go figure. not suitable for her as we prefer to walk (this being part of the game for us) and never buy cart bags as they just way too heavy to carry. was contemplating to get it just so i can take the mickey out of local builders but then again cart bags are too heavy to run with ;) good call on giving it away.

@Vegaman this would make sense then since you would normally get a low launch and high spin which would translate to ball starting low then climbing like crazy then falling out of the sky (just guessing) so you had to go with lower lofts just to even it. if 611 has weights placed as product description page says then given you are catching the ball more on the upper half of the face and this being deep faced head it would actually reduce spin for you in which case you can use a little more loft to get a higher launch angle. @coops nice comparison pic, thanx. nunchuk needs a higher launching head anyway or thats what i heard being recommended and its being tip stiff as it is i would think it should kill 611 spin reduction (to some degree at least) not help it but hey what do i know. anyways, i think product description page for 611 design features is accurate and it looks like a very nice head indeed. might be my next experiment comes summer.

well its still pretty large (over 400cc) where shaving weight from the body and adding it elsewhere would allow them to play with cg quite a bit. think ryoma like ping pong ball with a bullet glued to it as extreme version of what they can do these days. we are not talking 150cc persimmon uniform body here and even there cg can be shifted enough with adding weight like to the back and sole, not to mention modern iron designs. maybe it got lost in translation and product description doesnt reflect the reality which is what your experience suggest and thats more valuable than marketing material in my book. do you know reliably (tm measured) whats your attack angle with it on average ?

Syard t.388 vs others
56 sounds very good, especially comparing to other options out there (or lack of thereof) but my understanding was that mp craft was designed as high launching head with some mizuno branded high launch shaft as well. the product page says the weight is placed low and back and mentions there are two internal weight 1 center sole position and 1 at the back so that would confirm high launch design of the head itself for me. this t.388 thing on the other hand designed with weigh high and more towards front. to me that makes alot of sense bringing cg towards the shaft center line (i know its still nowhere near it but it has to be much closer that what has become conventional design these days with weight moved back). the stock shaft not to blow that seems like another plus tho i gotta say 65g is too light, something closer in weight to that nunchuk of yours would have been preferable. i'm kinda sold on design points of this t.388 thing to be honest tho i gotta say that it doesnt look all that good or compact judging by comparison pics but they cant get everything right for everybody. the best looking head i have seen lately was yonex 380 except for the sole which looks like a fugly spaceship.

Syard t.388 vs others
i think i kinda missed the boat on this t.388. its very nice to see sub 400cc heads getting back in action and demand for such product. the real challenge for Kobayashi and Endo would be to go sub 380cc (the original was 300cc?). reading here it appears there is custom order option which product page doesnt really go into too much detail about. if anyone here done that what exactly they can do and in what ranges ? i'm specifically interested if lie angle can be adjusted to be more flat because the hosel piece isnt that long to screw with and this being more on a shallow side by the looks of it it would matter more than deep faced head.

ryoma v-spec and vertical gear effect
i havent seen ryoma in person let alone hit it but from what i read on tsg blog there is alot of weight shaved off the clubhead body itself and added weight to the back via the weight port and thats probably is why you are seeing that effect. gory details can be found here http://www.tutelman.com/golf/ballflight/gearEffect2.php for those interested.

Taylormade Japan & Adams Golf 2013 Japan Golf Fair
[EDIT: found another thread with some feedback on feel. so does it feel more like persimmon or more like something else entirely?] might be a lame question but kinda wondering if that "70 layer graphite composite and thermostat urethane face" has any different impact feel to it like maybe being softer and less tin can feel than metal/titanium faces? i'd imagine it would have to be pretty hard to withstand impact force but still.

Iron Shaft Question: TT GS 75 to Tour AD AD75 or Matrix Program 130
to be honest i dunno what matrix marketing mean exactly by calling them high launch (and high launch compared to what, x100s?), maybe the message from their engineering got lost in translation or something. anyway, while they are no low pierce and run bullets, i'd say they more mid height overall but trajectory they produce is kinda different in that its more like rise, stay there flat, drop. its certainly possible to hit low flying runners with them if you want but normally i think thats their designed trajectory. so i wondnt worry about what matrix marketing says, if you like what you see and feel go for them. if you did it on indoor trackman you might wanna hit at least few real shots outside if you can. indoor trackman properly configured is pretty damn accurate but i personally found its more difficult to correlate what you see on the screen to real ball flight as you perceive it when hitting outside but even if you cant you can still print out trajectory comparison graphic between all the shafts you tested so you should be able to see exact flight difference for you between them.

Iron Shaft Question: TT GS 75 to Tour AD AD75 or Matrix Program 130
programs 130 are pretty smooth and very stable shafts but i think they require a late release to make them work or at least i noticed that people who find them too stiff tend to release early and then kinda fight the shaft from there if that makes sense. maybe if you ask your pro he can advise you based on that. my advise would be to grab a cheap set of steel thats heavier and stiffer than you currently have and do an experiment with that. from there based on results you can figure out what graphite replacement you wanna invest in if you wanna go with graphite without wasting money on multiple graphite sets trying to find the one that works for you.

Royal Collection -- no love?
i'm sure alot of folks still love RC (for me their protp 3w and tourvs driver are still in the bag, in fact i love that 3w so much wont trade it for any other even tho its been beaten to death by now) its just that it seems they kinda dropped the ball lately and it looks like they decided to expand and go more mainstream in terms of their product. that might not completely be true but it just seems that way from outside anyway. also heard they had some people split which probably didnt help things either. it would be great if they could find a good balance between mainstream and custom product going forward or if people who split do their own little gig old RC style.

Driving Irons
it would make sense to you if you carry and find the need to play a regular 2 or 3 iron (depending on your lofts) often enough but often decide against it because it can get dicey. they just basically more forgiving replacements. miura doesnt make their driving iron anymore afaik but i second that their mg hybrid is a great club, i dont think the feel is anything special but its impossible to mis**t it almost out of anything.

Best JDM Fairway wood?
same here, managed to get bb 103 but rc tp pro is more on a light side (its not light per se its just small volume head hence less weight to begin with) so took quite a bit of tape to make it balance reasonably.
-
Best JDM Fairway wood?
i have RC Pro TP which is probably what that Sonartec is based on and same story as you, its beaten up but its all cosmetic and i wont trade it for any other 3w out there. was interested in new TR/TX too which seemed like successor of that old line but even tho RC claims custom builds for them they not really custom builds where it matters and hosels on new models are significantly shorter so less room for tweakability so to speak. stick with it or at least keep it as backup if you go for a new one. 3w that just works is so difficult to find.

Yamaha Tour Blades similar to Hogan Channelback blades??
there been plenty of advancements in blade design but mostly around more length from the club, ease of use and currently preferred ball flight which it seems to be the higher the better. there are 'blades' with significant amount of offset, lower and towards the toe cg placement and probably inside blade cavities, inserts and weight ports and god knows what else in some models. none of that of course what true blade is all about but this is how it is and true blade is pretty much thing of the past now. if you want true blade there is little you can do to improve on models circa 60s or so, its all been done before.

Beautiful James Ingles Putters
thanx. i'm not really into damascus style look or pimp my putter kinda thing in general if anything i like it to look as simple and clean as possible ie no marks, paint, engravings, color, finish or texture changes visible at address or any of that. i'm more interested if anybody has one and can comment on how well they roll the ball, how well they are balanced that sort of thing and how competent that company is as club designer not shotgun maker. for instance if i ask them for straight no offset 8802 that would change the balance of the blade from standard half shaft offset design that sort of thing.

Diamana B-Series Shafts The 3rd Generation Diamana
any chance for 100+g version in this 3rd gen iteration ? like the old bb 103.

Beautiful James Ingles Putters
looks great but anybody knows if its any good besides the looks ? i know its no rocket science to make a 8802 blade head but still. their pricing and custom options seem to be reasonable and i started to wonder if maybe i could ask them to make me a no offset blade i always wanted.
