So I've stuck with the PW from the ironset. As for your Hybrid thing, I too dislike Hybrids. They are just a bit finicky for me and can occasionally hook like crazy. I've recently replaced my 23 deg Mavrik Pro Hybrid with a '24 APEX UT (23 deg) with a 90g Tensei 1k Hybrid and the thing hits like a dream! Feels good and goes very straight with enough height. Not a single hook from this club thus far. I am now waiting on a same club in 20 deg to replace my 7 wood. Hopefully the distances won't be so different. As my length decreased with age, I feel more than ever that straighter shots that stay in the fairway (or close vicinity) are so much more important than longer drives. I may pick up a more forgiving (fairway keeping) driver this year ... Maybe one of the 10k drivers?!

The last 6 months, I've been using my Benock Blue Dragon II exclusively and I got fit for a MEZZ Max and my other blade putters are just not gettin play time at all. It was mostly sitting idle in my office. There is a small nick/dent on the sole but overall in great condition. 8.5/10 It had a 72 or 3 deg lie angle when I bought it , but was professionally bent back to standard 70deg by Tom Slighter a few years ago. JIS 303 has nice solid feel at impact. 355g Will include a white genuine leather head cover with velcro closure. SOLD 2. Seven VS-R Sandvik putter Custom refinish at NorCal putters. This is their matte raw finish. face milling done by NorCal putters. Sandvik steel is really soft at impact. 358g 70deg standard lie angle No course use after refinish. Looks new. I have here for sale a real Tour Issue Prototype RS-F driver head 10.5 deg. The appearance is pretty much the same as the replacement RS-F that PRGR distributed when all of their original RS-F heads were recalled due to having too high of a COR. The slight difference is that the logo on the sole says "RS" on this one and the face has a "RS-F" laser etched. But you can see from the weight screw locations that is is indeed a RS-F model. Replacement retail models has "RS-F" on the sole and face. The other difference from the retail model is that the retail replacement model had a "conforms to R&A SLE rules.." logo on the heel of the sole. This tour issue does not. Anyway, these are minor details for simply a great (legendary) driver head that shook the JDM driver market a bit. Condition is 8.5/10 with ball marks on face and a couple of tiny unnoticeable paint chips along the leading edge of the crown. I am including 2 shaft adapters for this head as well as a used (retail) RS5 5 wood head as a bonus. No head covers are included. Price is $300 $250 SOLD

Hey gang!!! it's been a while! I have a couple of forged iron heads for sale. 1. A Grind R1 Blade 4-PW Condition 9.5/10 Standard Loft and Lie S25C forged carbon steel. Made in Kobe Japan. Likely a Kyoei forged head but not confirmed. 3 or 4 range sessions on a mat. Used on the course only once. Tiny pin size nick on 7 iron. some faint ball marks on face and brush mark on sole. No chatter marks on back face as they were protected with head covers while in the bag. $600 + actual shipping costs. SOLD 2. 2020 Yamaha RMX 020 5-PW. Condition 8.5/10 ( !!bonus 51 and 57 wedge heads!! ) This is their "Tourmodel" for the RMX 2020 lineup. Standard Loft and Lie. S20C forged carbon steel. Likely Endo Thailand forged but not confirmed. One of the softest feeling forged irons I've had. Reviewer in Japan have said softness is comparable to Miura and I agree. Used this for 1 full season since new. Some brown spots on face. scuffs on sole from usage. smallish dent/nick on 8 iron leading sole which does not affect playability. Back face has almost no chatter marks since I always used head covers. !!BONUS!! I am including a 51 and a 57 deg RMX VD Wedge (current model) which is a bit rough 7/10 but still has lots of life left. I've moved on to using VD irons and just ordered the latest VD/R. I think size wise, the Lab Golf Pistols are right in between the Super Stroke Pistol GT 1.0 and 2.0 . The wrist lock from Super Stroke are installed on to the shaft in a straight manner where as LAB golf grip I have are installed at 2 deg diagonally. Looks weird at address where the shaft angle is already tilted forward, but I have gotten used to it. The other thing I like about these LAB Golf pistol grip is that they only weigh 58g. I have not yet come across other similarly sized pistol grips in this light of a weight range. Most are in the 80g range or heavier.

Recently made a visit to Club Champion for a putter fitting and I ended up ordering a L.A.B. Golf Mezz Max putter. L.A.B. Golf specializes in zero torque putters and their line up includes a blade putter as well. Their mallets, "Mezz" line of putters have been tearing up the greens on tour recently between Adam Scott and Lucas Glover. Though they use broomsticks, I opted for a standard style. Leadtime is 2 months now with these putters, so In the mean time I installed one of their presse grips in my Benock putter and getting interesting results. Since Shimada seems to have stopped producing their 120g stepless putter shafts, I've been hunting around for other shafts to try. Lately I'm going between my Benock Blue Dragon II blade and Honma P303 mallet. While I generally putt better with the Benock, I just can't convince myself to move completely away from the Honma mallet which gives me more sense of security over a putt. One issue with the Honma is that it has a 370g head and the overall putter weight was close to 560g which just felt a bit too heavy to me. Unfortunately, the weight is not adjustable and so I wanted to try a super light shaft to reduce the overall putter weight to about 520g where my other putters sit. Couple of weeks ago, I found this new graphite shaft offering from ACCRA called SYNC and it came in 135g and 85g models. It looked cool too with the see thru carbon weave pattern!! looks on shaft matters too, you know. 🙂 Anyway, I got the shaft yesterday and so I replaced the 120g steel shaft to this new ACCRA shaft and I think the putter feels a lot more "familiar." putter weight is now down to 523g.. If I recall, the original Odyssey Stroke Lab series introduced in Japan in 2014 had gone this route in using super light steel shaft at about 80g and used a heavier head (365g or so) and a 80g grip to theoretically promote better tempo. the current Stroke Lab shafts are lighter at 70g. Provided that so many tour players use the Stroke Lab shafted putters, perhaps there is something to be said about light weight shafts in putters. I am thinking I am doing something similar with this new shaft. Anyway, so far so good on the carpet. Less effort with the takeaway and the overall stroke feels more like a natural pendulum swing. Obviously I'll have to try this on the course to see if it actually works well on grass. Will report back once I have results!!

I have a stash of Kurokage 2013 Proto TiNi that I have acquired time. They have been my go to shafts for the last 5 years or so. For me, they serve as a reference standard on pretty much any driver or fairway. it matches my swing I guess. Kind of like what you did with the Diamana Stinger! 🙂 For me 60 S in driver and 60 X in fairway works best. 70 S in a 5 wood is also pretty good. I have heard many people mention that the Kurokage XM is the retail version of the '13 Proto TiNi but I have a hard time believing that since the '13 Proto TiNi ( I guess now called "Kurokage Pro" ... google look up ) https://www.mca-golf.com/sites/default/files/spec-pdf/MRC KURO KAGE Pro_SPEC SHEET.pdf and the Kurokage XM https://www.mca-golf.com/sites/default/files/spec-pdf/2017 MCA-KURO KAGE XM Spec Sheets r2v20170406.pdf have very different specs. Anyway, for a fairway wood, I actually recommend the Kurokage XM because it is a more mid launch/mid spin shaft. Kurokage XT - Low Launch / Low Spin - Stout .. very much like 1st gen Diamana White Kurokage XM - Mid -High Launch / Mid Spin ...very smooth. higher launching. Kurokage XD - Low Launch / Low Spin - Milder version of the XT. Not as peaky but still low launch / low spin There have been other Kurokage models on the market but mostly for stock offerings. So the 3 models mentioned here are the "proper" after market model.

For light weight wedge shafts, I'm really happy with the Modus 105 Wedge. I've tried the Modus 105 Tour in my wedges and they seemed to be too high launch for me. 105 Wedge was lower launch with consistent spin. Another option that I don't mind is using Modus 120 Tour in wedges. Weight wise they might be slightly heavier at around 108 to 110 cut... but I feel they work well as wedge shafts. Plenty of feel to it. Interestingly, I was "so so" with the 125 Wedge and hated the 115 Wedge but somehow got along very well with the 105 Wedge.

Been playing Modus 120 Stiff in my irons the last few years and while I don't have any complaints, At 55 years old, I've started to feel that I might be better off with lighter shafts. Recently I switched my irons from Yamaha 020 Tour Forged to Ping I230s and since Ping US did not offer Modus 120 as an option at all ( not even for upcharge ) I had to order the i230s with Modus 105 S ... which just did not work out. So I pulled the 120 S out of my Yammys and into the Pings and it is night and day! I hit it so much straighter. I guess I'm a 120 Stiff guy. My i230s are set for the season. So now that I had the RMX 020 heads with no shafts, I decided to try some NS V90 I had from previous builds. As any JDMer would know, NS 950GH has been the mainstream light(er) steel shaft for JDM irons for decades, only recently getting replaced by 950GH NEO (which unfortunately I am not a big fan of). A common feedback from 950GH users has been about a sloppy feel of the midsection right as you start the down swing. I too felt some of that in the 950GH. The V90 on the other hand does not have this funny feel. Some users may characterize the V90 as a bit more stout compared to the 950GH... I don't think so..... I think they have a different load/bend profile. Anyway, I built up the RMX 020 with the V90 Stiff... and I took it out to the range last night for the first time. As a Modus 120 user, I want my forged irons to have a deep and dense feel at impact. And this new combo did not disappoint. Perhaps not as dense feeling as the Modus 120... but com' on, the V90 shaft is 20 to 25 grams lighter .... so maybe it's inevitable to have a slightly lighter impact. But it's not bad at all. A controlled (75%) swing got me the normal distance with a predictable high draw trajectory. With the 27 deg 5 iron, I struggled a bit with height using the Modus 120 but with the V90 I have no issues with height. I feel that this 5 iron with the V90 will stop even on a firm summer time green. Will be using this newly built lightweight set as a back up for now, but I have a feeling that these shaft will someday be installed in my main set. Very very very promising!!! I might need to go find another set of these shafts before they stop making them. 🙂

Hey guys!! Found this recent YouTube video from SKG (Shinagawa Koei Golf ) This is SKG's version of the Seven x Shinagawa MBs. I was surprised to see that the head shape is 100% hand grind!! Pretty amazing skills! I think most purist would appreciate this over the more modern CNC manufactured heads. Very tempted to shaft up my heads and actually start playing them. 🙂

I have 2 Benock putters currently. 1 with the standard SUS303 and the other with SUS316L... They are built with different shafts ( steel vs graphite ) so it's not if the difference in feel is coming from the head or the shaft.... but my personal opinion is that the 316L does feel slightly more muted at impact which contributes to a softer feel. I do think the SUS303 head provides clearer feedback and perhaps just a tad more solid feeling. While not in the material options that Benock offers, I have a Seven putter in Sandvik Stainless Steel ... this one feels softer than the 316L.

Got to be the last few that's left on earth especially in an S flex. I had mine saved for the perfect occasion but it seems that I've waited too long and these shafts are too much shaft for me now. Modus 120 Stiff are the perfect fit for me at the moment even with 5 days of gym time trying to maintain myself physically. 🙂 Getting older is tough!! Good luck with this sale!!
