OK... got my Geo Galaxy Mallet Putter today. Spent about 30 minutes putting with the stepped NS Pro steel shaft that it came with and then I reshafted with the Fire Express PT130 The difference I feel is that the PT130 feels a bit more stout and stiffer. Seems the ball is starting to roll quicker compared to the steel shaft where I definitely saw a couple of hops before a steady roll. Feel at impact is firmer but the edges very much rounded, if that makes sense. This is based on my putting on carpet ... but the difference was noticable. Perhaps due to the more immediate roll, the ball seems to be rolling out a bit further as well. I got the black finish shaft which is more of a metallic dark bronze color which is really nice. Overall, I am very satisfied with this shaft. Of course we'll need to see how it is on actual greens ... oh in about 6 months .. we got snow todayand courses are officially closed now. Oh yeah... I also got the Winn X 1.18 in the blue/orange color. The color scheme reminds me of the old Gulf Porsche 917. I am actually liking these grips. So far feels better than Superstroke.

I use the heaviest one. 149g raw I think.... I have the XXIP-B2 in my Gold's T102. The heavier shaft helps stabilize and slow down my stroke tempo and I also think it helps filter some unwanted vibration. I've tried the UST FF in the past as well, but I thought it was too light ... Very high tech and cool looking shaft though :)

I will be trying the Quadra Fire Express PT-130 and a Muziik/Dogatti PT-135 hopefully soon. I have been using NS Pro Heavy putter shafts 'til now .. but wanted to try something different. Looking to use the Fire Express in a Geo Galaxy mallet putter ... Already have the shaft. Supposed to get the putter tomorrow. Maybe able to report back tomorrow. The Dogatti will be installed in a Yamada IPT currently worked at Gold's Maybe another 2 to 3 weeks 'til I have it back.

Actually thinking about moving out to your vicinity possibly by next Summer. An Asian family living in Montana has had its challenges... beautiful scenery, great outdoors and all but no real asian food, 2 local public golf courses and only 6 months of golf during the year. When I do move out there, we can start building out Northwest headquarters of JDM Ho's:)

well, even if the weight is the same, I was thinking the weight distribution of the head will possibly make the shaft react a bit different. and spin and launch characteristics of the heads would likely be different as well. I was told 7 D measures each head in detail to optimize the shaft design specifially for each head.

Those folks nowadays monitor social media pretty closely. Write up a passionate tweet or facebook post on their page about not getting any responses and you should get their attention pretty quickly.

Why don't you reach out to the HR/recruiters at major golf brands and have them hook you up with the R&D people . I think you will get the best answers from the people who are working in those roles already. Good luck!

Currently have a 7D shaft with a Grandista Ver. S head on it. My 7D shaft was spcifically designed around this Grandista Ver. S . Going into off season, I am thinking about possibly trying the Epon AF105 head with this shaft. The new Epon head seems to be getting a lot of good reviews since the release earlier this month. Just want to hear what the experiences are in trying different heads on a 7D shaft that was designed around a specific head in mind. And what was the outcome.... I know I was warned at the time of my 7D purchase that I should be choosing a head that I really like ( i.e. and keep for a long time ) But really, as big of a club ho I am. how can I ever rely on my impulsive instincts? :) I am actually surprised that I have not swapped the head already!! If this was not a 7D shaft,, I would be on trial head No. 3 or 4 by now. I am always curious to know how different combos of shafts & heads work for me.

I have the "no budget' 7D set up :) Even from the very limited time I've spent with this driver before my injury, I can safely say it is the best feeling, sounding and performing driver I have had. Can't wait to put more time in it next season! I am very tempted to try the new AF105 to see how it compares.

Looks similar to an older Callaway design including the short hosel and alignment aid but with a more exaggerated shaft position towards the center. Is this also a Shingo design?

For example: 52 10 deg bounce bent to 54 will have 12 deg bounce 56 10 deg bounce bent to 54 will have 8 deg bounce 54-12 vs 54-8 can be significantly different in terms of ground interaction. Also there should be some weight differences. Typically 56 would have heavier head weight than a 52 .

what are the bounce on the 52 and 56? and what bounce do you want for your 54?

interesting. All pictures I can find of the 2014 type D has the onoff logo on the crown. Your's is definitely a 2014 type d based on the sole design. Sometimes when companies come out with such unusual crown design, they offer an alternative plain design option. I am trying to see if such thing existed for this model... another possibility may be that the original owner sent it out for an after market paint job when he initially bought it. Mizuno mp craft h4 came out with a factory glossy black option for extra charge after realizing the original matte black was not such a big hit.
