As for their naming convention, I understand they are wanting to mimic motorsport related names and that's fine but can't deny the fact that their products aren't getting the love they deserve especially in the English speaking world. I really like their designs .. very unique and interesting.
  4. Looking forward to your test results!!
  5. Reading up further into this new head... looks like Epon did something new to the face. Face is a cup face design with harder material in the middle and less harder material on the surroundings. I believe this is an effort to produce higher ball speed without sacrificing overall feel at impact. If this is true, I might consider this for replacing my 153

If it weren't for the brand name, I think more people would be gaming their stuff. I had their VT511 for a while and it was the softest feeling driver on earth!! If they are still using the same material for the 911 series, they have to be damn good feeling!! BTW, 911S is 460cc 911D is 440cc.... they sound like awesome drivers from all the reviews I have read. I think 8C Craft TA001 , NUD Ghibli also use the same material.
  7. I have tried both and unfortunately the zy11 did not work out for me. Grandista , on the other hand works very well for me. ZY11 , I would say is a bit unique in the overall shape, as well as sound at impact. one of the deepest faced heads i have known. very very low spin.... I chose a 9.5 deg and paired it with a AAA 2015 and half my balls were drop balls with too little spin. I may have had better luck with a 10.5 deg ... Grandista is much more conventional from a looks and sound perspective. I got my 7d shaft fitted for a 9.5 deg , Version S head and so that maybe one of the reasons this driver works for me... higher launching , moderately more spin than ZY11. For me its a bit more forgiving as well. I think both heads are equally potent as long as you can match it up with the right shaft that produces a combo that works for you. Looking back, if I used a more active tip shaft, I may have had better luck with the ZY. but I have always used tip stiff shafts and I was not patient enough to give it more time and effort. I would not characteize these two heads in the same category. Interestingly, both heads were designed by Long Drive Professionals with different approach in optimizing distance performance.
  8. Sure , but I think at one point in time more manufaturers had composite heads and they kind of moved away from it... except for Callaway... and now it seems like they are coming back. As I recall, this is the first attempt by Taylormade. and I just think the timing is interesting because one of the hottest JDM drivers currently is the Grandista, also with a composite crown. Also with the advances in carbon composite material, They maybe at a point where they can design the crown to have a very speicific flex characteristic?
  9. Being a user of a carbon composite driver, I am interested in this new series from TM. The FW head looks awesome as well. Wish they came in all black. Hoping they'd do black for the Japan edition!
  10. Industrial Putting Technology = One of Yamada's brands of putters.
  11. Thanks! Will look into this!
  12. Thanks Tae, Which Syb model is that? I can only find the PIARM utility irons.
  13. Srixon... Z U45 looks to be the current model.. cool. Thanks Ian!!
  14. Thanks Ash , Forgot about the A Grind utes...
  15. Thanks, Robbie. Yup, more time in the Gym would be good for me anyway! One of my playing buddies has been using the Adams DY. He loves it.
  16. I know this may be a long shot but I really want to get these shafts for my Buchi VS200 The OTI in them are great but need a bit more stability. Have some putters Yamada, Miura, Epon for possible trade. or cash... must be in excellent condition. 5i length needs to be 38.25" or longer when built.
  17. well, my wrist injury turned for the worst and ended up rupturing tendons in my small finger. got surgery last Wednesday. Golf season is over for me. Sigh... On the brighter side, I get to start day dreaming about my WITB for 2016! Thinking about switching my 3 & 4 Hybrids with Utility Irons. looking at Buchi SP 301 , Fourteen Type 7 or Honma TW-U as my candidates. Probably will use Crazy STP 85g to pair up. I like softer denser forged iron like feel off the face, but doesn't have to be forged. Used to play a Mizuno MP Fli Hi 24 deg for a while which I really liked feel wise. I did not like feel of the Epon AF 901 which had more of a hollow feel to it. mid launching or higher preferred. Any feedback on these Ute Irons would be appreciated. Thanks!
  18. very nice! I am working with Chris now on a refinish/mod plan at GF. we'll see how it comes out.
  19. from the top reminds me of recent Titleist hybrids. looks really nice!
  20. i believe the Endo Golf Lab LFD driver was at 0.89 bur since the company closed their doors ... they are very hard to find. tried to get one on yahoo jp the other day but winning bid was 88000 yen which was more than when it was new... expect to pay a premium especially for the hi cor version.
  21. Mid weight graphite irons shafts are my choice now. Used to play 130g steel shafts then went lighter steel 115g ... regained a few yards but lost a bit of control. Then tried 95g OTI... good balance of control and distance. But just a bit too soft for me in 95 S Then I recently got 100g Crazy STP and absolutely love it. Distance not quite as much as OTI but dispersion is in a different class. Very tight. I actually might try the 85g STP next season. Actually wanting to try Crazy CBI 80 shafts as well.

V203 is the best feeling and sounding driver Yamaha produced in my opinion. However, like HB says, it is not forgiving.
  23. I was going to do that and also get a pz milling custom insert but I was informed GF no longer makes custom inserts. so instead decided to invest in the Vault version. glad I did. :)
  24. did you get one? They sold out the 20 pieces in less than 90 seconds! last 4 sales on the bay averaged a whopping $3600 ... highest one sold for $4550 waiting another couple of weeks to see if Mr Day can pull off another win or two and capture overall Fedex cup. Then I will put mine on the market. :)
