  1. it does look like a tm gloire, but the grooves point to the gloire Reserved

oh dear, i had my heart set on the maxima D, now i am unsure. Is it me or does the 388 looks bit like epon 152 ? Will wait for you to give the verdict jimmieboi
  3. i must say am not very technical, but learning. Feel the TJ46 softer & better feel. CB46 very boardy, stiffer. The diamana X 60s, strangely is very whippy, gave me a very high launch, may be the lightness of the shaft. But thanks all, great feedback
  4. Thanks F1. Much appreciated. I bot the harder hitting 46s couple of years ago when i was swinging harder - my tempo is better, smoother these days, and i thought a Royal Deco type profile may suit the driver better. Got it on the CB vs TJ spins. Will switch it around and see. Any view on the Diamana X - will it work ok a Maxima D ?
  5. came across this old thread when searching for profile of TJ-46 I am struggling these days with my driver & 3w, which is a shame as my new onoff 2013 irons are laser like from < 200 yards. My swing is smoother these days vs my old hitter swing. Did wonders for my irons but may be why my woods are off. Driver : Ryoma vspec 9.5 with a CB-46 7.2 & Epon 152 with Longest Yard TJ-46 6.7 3w : TRC 14deg on Crazy FW 7.2 & RBZ 13deg spoon on Crazy FW 7.7 I have a Diamana X. 60g S as well. My misses go right ( not slices ), or snap hooks. Good drives are high draws. Q1) based on abv thread, the CB -46 should be a better control shaft ? Should suit my swing better ? Q2) are the 3wood flex too stiff ? I will be getting a Maxima D hopefully, just want to find a good shaft to go with it. HELP !
  6. i have a cb46, how different is it from the cb50 ? My home course now is super tight, 2 yards off either side of the fairway iam on 4 inches of rough. Giving up on length, whats the most control & tightest dispersion crazy ? Its to go with a maxima D Thanks
  7. Great review & information Tario - thanks ! Can we say the longer distance on the G model is purely down to the longer shaft ? ie. the head is no diff to the D model.
  8. can you guys stop bothering Tario with questions so he can get on with the review already ? :-) my life is on hold tilll then, sadly.
  9. will wait for your write up Tario ! Cant understand the D, G & V models. From website looks like G is non conforming ?
  10. Good point. We suffered last few years when yen was 75-80 to USD 1. Its 20% cheaper these days ! Time for a another golf & food trip to Tokyo !
  11. @ craig, and i thot my vpec 9.5 was scruffy. I have it paired with crazy cb-46 Cant agree more, it finds fairways, very forgiving on bad mis**ts. Once topped it and ran 220 yards...... Waiting for maxima feedback.......
  12. time for me to try crazy boron. I hv CB46, LY46 & diamanaX. Least fav is the X........somehow it doesnt work for me. Too lively as i prefer the stout feel. The thng with shafts, its very personal & heads hv to mtch. Next time i find a good match, will buy a few of the same....but then, life would be boring. Read Tiger changed back to his diamana whiteboard for the players. He has not used the whiteboard since 2010
  13. hope they sorted it out. I had my vpec d1 cracked after < 10 rounds, thanks to Tario & tsg, ryoma replaced it.
  14. poised like a peacock Cant wait for the notes ! @ iykato, i play vspec d1 + cb46 6.7 = match made in heaven. Tried ly46, diamana x, both didn suit
  15. beautiful clubs both. I went with onoff in the end as it was , as most have said, a touch more forgiving, especially the mid irons onwards. It plays like the epon 502s. in terms of looks, i think the yammy wins - looks like a muscle back, plays like a cavity. Its one pretty club.
  16. great trajectory based on the clip. Do you think this is the maxima effect or the shaft ? ie. how was trajectory vs Ryoma V-spec ? would be great to see maxima roll vs the rest. thanks much for the review !

How are the steelfibers & recoils compared to steel shaft on dispersion ? I presume distance, feel & the strain on hands are much better. Thanks

took out my old ( well, since i got the ryoma 2years ago ) Epon AF152 fom my storage & re shafted it my old LY-46 6.7 I forget how sweet these epon drivers are ! great feel & sound. Back in love with my Epons

so whats the latest iron shaft to spend $ on ? Have not followed iron shafts for 2 years now. Currently play a 2012 Yamaha tour on PXi 5.5, Epon 302 on C-taper R+. Just got a set of 2013 Onoffs forge & looking for a match. Dont mind too much ball flight wise, but looking for tighter dispersion. Driver swing is around 110mph, 7i around 90 mph. From what i read, shafts are pretty much personal, but just want to see the experience out there with different shafts. Actually thinking abt those steelfibers or the new recoils......
  20. I have a friend who swears by the v steel, he just wouldnt up grade or change. Problem is the v steel is not in prod anymore & hard to get 2nd hand. Trying to get my friend into rbz stg 2 as his v steel is completely worn out
  21. i think my new 3w may be a yammy. Anyone tried the 2013 yamaha 3w ? How does it play vs Rc's ? oh forgot to mention i played the egg spoon a while ago. Easy & similar distance to ryoma f2, but i could not get over the scooped up back. Funny, i got over the rbz white very easily.
  22. rsenal - what made you decide on the onoffs ? bo178 - i managed to demo the yammy 2013 non tours. It feels very similar to my yammy tour 2012. The non tours have a higher ball flight ( though could be the shaft ), the diff was on the long irons ( 7-4 ), obviously more forgiving on the non tours. I must say the ' muscle back ' appearance looks awesome Trying to get a demo of the 2013 onoffs. Tried the onoffs 2012, forgiving & a club longer than my yammy tours in the long irons. It could boil down to getting the onoffs 2012 @ half the price of the 2013 version. But i LIKE the grooves of the new one ! choosing a wife was easier....
  23. nw, i am usually in that zone too.
  24. Imho, the RCs are the most versatile all rounder - good off the deck & the tee. The smaller head helps with set up off grass, the twin rails helps it get thru better. I have the Ryoma F2, which was forgiving & launches high, but could not hit it off tees, plus i hated the sound of it.....reminds me of those sq calloways / nike driver few years ago. Gave it to my dad who is 70....match made in heaven. Then i tried the rbz tour spoons (13deg ).......i could live with the sound as it launches hot, penetrating & equally easy off tee / deck.....and its super long !!! Thats my current gamer.
  25. thks - will wait for the photos. I read the TSG review on yammies 2013 but cant find any on onoff 2013. @ riduffer - comparing yamaha x v 2013 ( non tour ) & onoff forged 2013. I currently play the yamaha v forge 2012 tours & epon302, so looking for another more forgiving set
