  1. I want to try their regular grips, but RI's insistance that the unavailable ones are the best ones put me off. Got a cabretta stitchback put on the Zen and hated it. Nothing like I expected, way too minimalist and hard feeling, like they forgot to put any padding in it. I know I like leather grips because I have some older clubs with them and love the feel and classic look, but like any golf related project it seems like it costs a couple hundred for a $50 fix.
  2. I have no idea what I'd need this for but I want it
  3. I don't think they could make an iron better looking than that 909 at address. Talk about a razor thin topline. Thinner topline means more junk in the trunk where ya need it.
  4. I was leaning Byron but I think I'm gonna go Lajosi...Love the high toe Didge....he actually answers emails and gives me real information too.
  5. Didn't like it, sold it haha.
  6. Thanks for the write up man, I want a set for my birthday in March :)

    On the bay
  8. We're going to have a 3 legged sack race on consecutive Sundays to determine who gets them!
  9. Bogey is working on a full S Yard bag for 2013!
  10. I am glad the OEMs are factoring in climate change with their new lineups, seems like everything is optimized for foul weather. :) Luckily for me, the wind never stops blowing here it seems. May have to get me one of these.
  11. I have used some that sucked and some that were pretty realistic albeit not perfect by any means, thus the "mulligan" option for the WTF moments. The one I have been playing on the last few times I would have in my house/garage any day. ~9 out of 10 shots do what I expect when they leave the clubface...a few go longer than what I think, some come up a bit short, but it seems to be halfway decent. At least for entertainment purposes. I'm not saying this would be my last warmup before Q school by any means but most of us aren't good enough to gripe about a few yards here or there or 1000 rpm of spin on a 155 yard approach shot. I have played on some that weren't even worth trying though
  12. I've seen a lot of Flightscopes and even some Vector LMs for sale on the bay lately pretty reasonable, it is too bad they couldn't be worked into some 2nd hand software to make them Sim compatible. As far as the space goes, it is pretty bare bones, just open space and a concrete floor. Heat is already in there. I'm not overly concerned with making it into a penthouse, just a functional hitting bay. Probably just a pipe dream at this point anyways.
  13. Anyone own or looked into having simulated golf at home or just a launch monitor? I have a large detached garage with an office built into it that isn't being used as an office, and would like to turn it into a golf simulator or hitting bay. Seems like the sky is the limit on price for these things but a used LM like Vector or FlightScope can be had quite reasonably. Any thoughts?
  14. For fun and extra cash, I actually used to buy used iPhones and Droids off craigslist by the bucketload, jailbreak/root them, then sell them on tourspecgolf, most of which went overseas. Not as much money to be made doing it as there used to be. Not to mention the overseas buyers have found every loophole in tourspecgolf and PayPal to screw the seller. Every smartphone I have had up until my 5 has been rooted or jailbroken. Like RIDuffer said, my main motivation was to get features (especially hot spot) that the carriers didn't offer at the time. As the carriers and Apple have started allowing a lot of the features that only used to be accessible through jailbreaking, I have lost a little interest in it. Realistically, to me, the biggest advantage to the jailbreaking now is the aesthetic customization like what T is doing. It helps put ios on a level playing field with Android in the aesthetics and customization department. Somewhere along the line I stopped being concerned with that too...I don't think I have chosen a new background screen picture for 6 months.

The Iomic stickiy 2.3s on my OnOffs feel firmer, smoother, less grippy/traction, and don't feel as tacky as the No1 to me. I don't think anything feels like a No1 but again that comes with a cost of low durability. Some people that have used them say they feel too spongy/squirmy for their liking too. I usually wear a chunk out where my right thumb rubs on the grip. If the Nowon was half the price it actually is I would probably always play them going forward because they're, for me, the best grips I have ever used. But I don't think I want to spend $250 a year on replacing grips!
  16. Yeah they even still have the plastic wrap on the grips.
  17. Professionally pulled when I got the Recoils put in my OnOffs, never been hit. 5-PW Stiff flex. They have black Tour Velvet grips with the OnOff logo on them. $75 plus actual shipping gifted PP.
  18. HAHA Best quote on TSG ever

I have Iomics on my OnOffs and Nowon on everything else. I personally prefer the Nowon but they wear out so quickly which sucks. The Iomic is a real nice blend between feel and durability imo.
  20. I would like to know what advantages small heads have, I seem to get more overall distance from them, likely due to less spin, and they also feel more like hitting a blade. I would also like to know how he was able to design such a large sweet spot into a small driver. When you say the sweet spot is larger do you mean it is larger relative to total face area or actually larger? Because that is an incredible feat of engineering if true! Also, he seems to be a minimalist when it comes to club design, using tried and true techniques and good ol' human engineering vs doing everything with a computer. At least thats the impression I got from the interview/write up a while back. How does his design philosophy differ with other club designers today?
