The "Crazy Crack"
My FW80 is more noticeable than the others. I know I even heard it in the 519 Proto/Ryoma V SPec I had that RIDuffer now has, so maybe he could weigh in on if he noticed it or not. Could very well be that I am just more sensitive to that frequency or something? I wouldn't think it would be anything my builder is doing because he's the only common denominator. I had never really noticed it as much until last night, I was in the simulator cubby hole at the end of the room against a wall and I am sure it really amplified the sound compared to being on a course or range.

Crazy utility 2013. anyone try?
Probably the 21*, I'd rather hit, say, an Egg 18* than a hybrid from 200 some yards out.

The "Crazy Crack"
I figured I would get some heat for this, but after tonight I had to ask. I do not own a Crazy shaft that was bought used or had every been pulled before. The ones I have bought have all been authorized and brand new. Please bear in mind I am not complaining or knocking the shaft, just referring to something I have noticed. I am sure it gets exaggerated in the confines of indoor facilities like tonight, but there were a couple long Par 5s I was going for in 2 on that simulator where I really cranked on it and they gave a "creaking" sound on transition and release. The ones where I really heard it were monster shots, like ~230 carry with my Egg/FW80 combo with 105-106 club head speed with it. Vegaman's analogy is pretty good. I think the shafts I have all fit me pretty well according to the information I have read and been given so that shouldn't be an issue. I have always felt they give a club a glassy, tingly feel at impact and this is kind of a glassy/creaky sound when I load it. Again, zero complaints, just an observation. Crazy is king in my book.

The "Crazy Crack"
And BTW I was at the simulator tonight and played a round and a half. Have 3 different models of Crazy shafts in play tonight...every single one does the exact same thing. Exact. On my best Egg shots I swore the head was coming off the shaft at transition and release. If I grab the head in one hand and the end of the grip in the other and slightly rotate back and forth I can hear it.

The "Crazy Crack"
I was under the influence of JDM at the time I admit.... I am serious on this...no one has heard or noticed it before? I was worried it was just me because I wreak some havoc on shafts but I didn't think I'd be called out on substance abuse for it!!!

The "Crazy Crack"
I am probably in a minority of users here as far as my swing style, but I have come to notice a very common theme amongst shots taken with my Crazy shafted clubs. I admittedly have a very very aggressive transition and release. So much so that on 9.5 degree drivers and normal stiff shafts I can have average dynamic loft numbers of around 20* on Trackman. So those of you with more controlled and normal swings, this most likely doesn't apply to you. On every single Crazy shafted club I own, at the top of my swing, at the beginning of my transition, and at my release, there is a cracking sound that used to make me think my shaft broke. Every single Crazy shaft I have owned has done this. Ironically, the louder the crack sound released, the more intense, long, and low spin my shot was. I have actually become accustomed to knowing that the louder the "Crazy Crack" is, the better the shot will likely be. Never heard anyone discuss this before, so maybe I am the only one? Absolutely LOVE these shafts. Wish I had the cheddar to put them in everything I own, including the steering mechanisms of my vehicles.

The Personals took me by surprise
I think it depends on where your focus is. If you focus on the neck of the personals it will drive you nuts because the way they're designed it makes them look more offset than they really are. I look at the leading edge angle relative to the shaft more and they don't appear closed to me. Then again I kind if set up a little open compared to most people anyways. Sorry to hear they aren't working out for you.

The Personals took me by surprise
The offset on the personals isn't like the offset in the 302s though to me. The personal doesn't appear look closed to me like some offsets do. Used to be that offset was just offset and the leading edge was more square now it seems like offset keeps meaning more and more closed face angle which sucks

RIDuffer's weapons of HC destruction
This is just insane. Steve and Stew are worth more in golf clubs that some nations' GDP. My problem with having all the extras around is I'd drive myself insane trying to decide what to play and would feel bad if I had a high $ set that was just sitting. Maybe someday I will be able to find my inner hoarder.

Introducing Fullmiere, the ultimate swing analyzer
Sounds like a stellar device. My only beef is that once I pinpoint the plethora of problems with my swing, how will I go about fixing them? I thought that's what JDM ho'ing was for!?!?!?

Crazy utility 2013. anyone try?
Love the shape and set up. How much more is the Crazy than the JBeam? I would love for Crazy to do some more of their own design stuff.

Anyone using steel in Utilities? (2013 Yamaha)
Actually doesn't surprise me one bit. As I've said before, when I've started transitioning all my shafts over to Japanese carbon, I couldn't believe how anti-left even the "anti-right" shafts are. The added benefit is that it has really made me more cognizant of my release, which is help me hold my lag and time my release much better than I used to. I think most of the American-made clubs teach you that you don't really even need to have a formal release. Learning to hit the Japanese carbon has lowered my ball flight, giving me more distance, and just overall transformed my game for the better. I honestly think that it's just the nature of the material to be somewhat anti-left compared to more traditional graphite or steel. If getting away from that material has resulted and less fading or slicing, I can almost guarantee that it's a release issue. Really concentrate on having a strong, powerful release through the ball, and I guarantee you will see great results. When I put crazy shafts into my egg clubs, the first day at the range I was hitting everything way right, and I never hit things to the right. Now I just focus on kissing the wrists and the ball absolutely explodes off the clubface

new forged irons releasing soon
I'm in the same boat. 13 (up from a season opening 8 last year because of injuries) but any club with offset freaks me out. I don't mind a little chunkier top or size but the offset doesn't work. I supposed with enough time I could adjust and aim 30 yards to the right of my target to get them to end up where I want, but with multiple gorgeous iron designs with some built in forgiveness and minimal offset, why? The Personals have offset but it isn't the type where the leading edge looks like its pointing to 10 o'clock. It's offset back from the shaft but still easy to align and not pull. I'm so stoked about my onoff forged and recoil combo to get here I've been doing the peepee dance all week. They're gonna most likely be my gamers for competition and league this year.
