4-PW should run around $1500 shafted with the basics. Back Cavity is CNC, grooves are pressed.

It's like a glue gun that injects a thick heavy substance into the head usually used for weighting and rattle stop.

In Japan it's called the MT-202 iron, were gonna keep it simple and just call it the Buchi Forged CB. It is a global edition that we designed to be able to stock because Buchi is primarily custom hand made to order and sometimes takes forever. It's been a while to get the shape right but we now know surely that this new grind performs well in a variety of conditions just like the new wedge does. While these are not in stock "yet" and they are currently being produced you can opt to wait longer to order them "custom grind" for practically the same price. or custom finish, Micro face milling and illegal grooves are options too. It just takes time. enjoy the pics. I'll post the blades tomorrow.

Sneak Peak: Buchi 2014 Global Model!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Around $250 custom is pretty much the same price the only difference is wait time, we are still waiting for the global editions to arrive and half are already spoken for. We are trying to get ahead of the delay but it's proving difficult. These are to be listed this week in the proshop. -
Exactly what we first said when we rolled these back in Feb. Cheap looking yet awesome. It's got a very big insert and a shallow cavity behind the face as well. I'm sure Sasaya could do magic to one of these.

ONOFF TS358 Fairway Wood Impressions

ONOFF isn't a component brand, nor persimmon feel either, weight we can make a request sure. -
ONOFF TS358 Fairway Wood Impressions
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Distance was hard to judge because I'm hitting the standard shaft in the ONOFF but have the FW80 in my XV. I think they are about the same but of course the FW80 made the dispersion a lot tighter. I believe if they both had the same shaft the ONOFF will fly a hair lower while the XV is just a little bit more forgiving. -
Sneak Peak: Buchi 2014 Global Model!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Thanks Craig, we are starting to find that some pressed grooves dull after plating and face blasting and one way to insure mucho spin is to order the option of CNC milled face and grooves, it's not a cheap option but gives you micro face milling and grooves that are really sharp. conforming - non conforming - and super non conforming grooves are all options. That's funny all three of us went from Toyoshimas to Buchi's. -
I can't remember a time when there has been so many amazing fairway woods on the JDM scene at once, ONOFF's TS358 is sitting pretty near the top of that list, it's the model created for the pro by the pro and I've put it's through it paces seen what it can do and the take away it's definitely one of my top 3 choices. You may be wondering what some of my other favorites are, well in the mix is also the S-Yard XV, PRGR's latest Egg, Royal Collection 306V and a New Prototype we have yet to reveal made by one of TSG's favorite shaft companies. In the past ONOFF made some really good shallow faced fairway woods, the description in the TSG Store says its got a semi deep face and I agree it's also got a low enough center of gravity and a shallow of enough face to make it fairly user-friendly. As far as size goes it's 157cc's which is considered pretty small for a 3 and to put that into context the S-Yard XV 3 wood is 190cc's albiet very well hidden. Looking back at the previous Labo Spec fairway woods ONOFF has done much smaller, in 2013 they released a F358 fairway wood oddly no #3 was available you could only get #5 and #7 but even crazier the five was 120cc's and the seven was 112cc's some of the tiniest in golf today. So how does 157cc's work in the real? It's beautiful to look down on., this fairway just frames the ball so nicely, it doesn't look small perhaps if it were in matte black it could but with gloss black it appears to have some size to it. To me making a smaller head look bigger is just as cool as as making a big head look small. Tungsten rubber weighted sole, I would love to break one of these heads apart and see exactly how it was done. More and more brands are using stuff like alpha gel or TPU type materials but usually only for vibration & feel, in the case of the TS358 this rubber type material is also used for weighting and it being so close to the face I assume creates a more noticeable effect. All Labo Spec clubs are limited edition, they are made for the ONOFF sponsored JPGA players, released in extremely small quantities and never produced again.

Sneak Peak: Buchi 2014 Global Model!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Yes just like yours, everyone says the same thing about buchi wedges. I call his wedges "smooth" because they seem to slide through turf like no other. One of the test wedges had more offset than the others, that wedge was absolutely automatic and tops in my book, making me think we don't praise offset enough sometimes. We ended up going with the less offset version. By the way, I'm looking at your signature its just stunning the clubs you play. Bravo Mr. Bravo! -
These are truley amazing, The fit face is my favorite too. If you could only have one which would it be?

Fresh off the grind the 2014 Buchi Global Launch Edition. TSG announced Buchi well over a year ago and at the time the brands design and shape catered to the tastes of Japan. Over the last year we had customers purchase Tabuchi-san's custom grind wedges and while I was not a big fan at first , the comments began to roll in. Customers were claiming the Buchi custom wedge as the best feeling and most versatile they have ever played and that caught my attention as some of these guys play it all. Since then we have gone through a half dozen prototypes all variants of what our customers requested until it became a blend of sorts. The result is a wedge that not only looks stunning but feels unreal and most importantly performs for a wide group players. We tested in the rain, in the desert, and from a variety of sand conditions to create a wedge that we think has few rivals. Release is in June and it all kicks off with a limited 4 wedge set 50/54/58/62* lofts called the global launch editions. Only 10 of these sets will be made. In regards to price Buchi is an excellent value, these global models cost the same as the custom wedges! That's pretty unheard of now days. So if you want something already prepared you can go with these, if you have custom requests and don't mind waiting the cost is no different. Only the limited sets will demand a premium and for good reason, a new additional mold needed to be created to make it happen. Stay tuned for more info and the official release announcement.

Some of these are under half their original price, just trying to clear these as they take up too much space in storage. The mount Fuji/Stork already sold. The rest are still available.

If the Yamaha RMX UT married the ONOFF UT this is what you would get... The TW717 Utility Wood by Honma. It reminds me of the RMX UT with it's face profile and how it appears at setup. It reminds us of the ONOFF Fairway Wings Type-S because of the way it feels. As far as performance goes think ONOFF but slightly easier to get up. A nearly perfect combo. It's an undersized UT with a rounded leading edge and a low cg created by the weight screw on the sole. Honma makes these in 16/19/22 and the lower the loft the closer the weight is placed toward the face. We are in luck because Honma has a pretty awesome shaft option for this, the Vizard UT950 which is in the mid 90's range designed for the player.

Epon's New Product Release Schedule! 2014
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The question was are they overpriced. The answer to that is always It depends on how deep one's pockets are, and that doesn't make you a mug. I love expensive stuff myself! I doubt your paying double for a factory build and the ability to purchase options.. Your willing to pay double because of the brands image. Those questions your asking, about weight tolerance, build tolerance, face angles. It's all made the same way for each brand, No magic Epon only elves unfortunately, automated computers "blueprint" everything by weight, heads made in the thousands and the OEM will inspect tolerance after delivery once again. -
Epon's New Product Release Schedule! 2014
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Both of you guys make good points. Does the Endo forged $799 USDM Cobra AMP or $999 USDM Callaway X-Forged equal a set of $2K Epons?.. it's the same metal, same machines, same tolerance, factory & staff with Epon you do pay a premium for the name and gone are the days of the $1150 msrp. -
Olympic Co... Graphiteleader... Deramax....
TourSpecGolfer replied to RIduffer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The graphic fabric sounds interesting but 4 axis is dated. We went to Globeride shaft factory at their HQ and I get the impression it's harder to make a good golf shaft than it is a fishing rod. Don't know if that's true, the rod has to be strongest, lightest, and longest sometimes which is expensive and cutting edge, but the golf shaft has to have playable characteristics through design. RI if you wanna try PM me. -
It's always expensive to ship golf bags across the globe so when golf accessory maker Win Win called and asked if we could take these bags off their hands after the PGA show it was our pleasure. We actually do sell them slow albeit consistently throughout the year to what I assume are non forum members. I'm personally not one for cartoony very bright colored bags, I''m usually safe sticking to dark, carbon, denim, blacks and other colors in bags but it looks fun to have a bag like this. They are some of the best made I've seen in golf period and I totally understand why people buy these. They are expensive, but worth if you enjoy the style from great make & materials to upgraded rubber handles and partially transparant rain covers etc.. So these exact bags are already in the states, that means shopping is a lot less especially by ground for all those who live in the lower 48. Better yet I think were knocking almost half off on some of these. This is all we got here so if you like please PM me.

Olympic Co... Graphiteleader... Deramax....
TourSpecGolfer replied to RIduffer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
A couple years now we have seen them at the golf show. I think they make Graphite Leader as well, stuff seems pretty generic but I have no idea how it performs. Discount to be the guinea pig? http://www.olympic-co-ltd.jp/golfsite/ -

Zodia CM-1 Irons - What do you think?
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
If it's carbon and raw it will rust. The purpose of going raw is feel, do these irons feel firm like the wedges in your opinion?
