  1. ha-na-na? ha and ba are very close with that abbreviation mark thingie right?
  2. These are 1 piece forged heads with traditional lofts while the 703 and PXG XF are multi piece with strong lofts. The 703 and PXG will be longer and more forgiving club vs club than the Seven CB and MCB. That said the Maruman NX Shuttle Iron, PRGR Super Egg, Yamaha UD+ will crush any Epon or PXG if your looking for forgiveness and distance. The Sevens were produced with a few goals in mind: - They must be made in Japan - They must be higher quality than any other brand - They must have very low offset - The shape must rival brands like Titleist, Bridgestone, Dunlop - The CGs must be progressive with optimal locations chosen by cad and tested by human - It must be a 1 piece forged head for feel This is higher quality than Endo and I can say that with confidence. But the iron you choose will depend on what your preferences are. If your preferences match the iron you choose then you will be happiest. So maybe its Seven, maybe its PXG or Epon its about what you want.
  3. Thanks guys, the CB and MCB are the start of a big jump in SEVENs quality. Eventually all seven clubs will be made by this same manufacturer in Japan except the MB as I don't want to mess with that. If anyone has questions about how they are made, costs, comparisons to brands like PXG, Epon and Miura please ask. We are very confident in these.
  4. Thank you, as you can tell Its pretty obvious i dont like Epon, its the history we have. The product is fantastic so lets seperate that from my feelings about the brand. I can go on and on about this so ill zip it now. Not watered down, P3s are good, most of their products are killer. The look well too much text for me and kinda confusing with the branding but still very cool in satin. I take it back on the head weights it was the length that makes them a light SW at 38" they are fine. but 62* lie on the driver... No clue what they are doing. This reminds me of LFD.
  5. Because i am bias, thats the truth. All humans have bias. so dont let it rub you the wrong way. What kind of feedback are you looking for? When I rant people get insight and dont have to agree.
  6. Introducing the New SEVEN CB! Made with an entirely new design using new materials and manufactured 100% in Japan. We suggest you have a closer look zoom in so you can see the quality is unlike any other. By using Japanese 5 Axis milling machines with specialized software we were able to create the highest quality cavity back the golf world has ever seen. SEVEN is also boasting the highest manufacturing cost per head with their intention to cut out middle man keeping the retail price as low as possible thus giving the consumer the best product they can buy. Completely 360NC milled from a solid block of forged steel where as other high end clubs only CNC the back cavity of the head and not the shape the new SEVEN CB is 100% milled from hosel to toe. We want you to compare these to see for yourself that no other brands equal the precision and quality that the new SEVEN CB entails. SEVEN is also utilizing 3D-CG programming to ensure the center of gravity locations are at the optimal positioning for the best performance possible. Many big OEMs use CAD to assist in CG placement but because this is a fully CNC made head we are able to better maximize ball speeds, launch, and forgiveness. Two versions exist the original which features milling marks everywhere on the body (see below) as well as a hand polished version that lightly removes milling marks except in the cavity and on the face (see above). No grinding is done whatsoever to dictate the shape of this club. The shape is flawless and perfectly consistent with no deviation between sets. The tolerance is the tightest of any 1 piece head made thanks to the quality of the CNC programming and machinery. SEVEN has also taken this club above and beyond by incorporating whats called Pure Tempered Technology. PTT makes the club firmer in certain areas for improved spin performance and feel this proprietary tempering process is started at 850 degrees for 4 hours then cools down to 500 degrees in a specialized vacuum atmosphere. The above is what we feel is the perfect view from address. The offset/face progression numbers are exactly what golfers want: 4.5/5.0/5.5 very few clubs have this little offset and this would be equal or even less offset than even the smallest blades. The top line is thin but in perfect proportion to the body and shape, we have also implemented a clear top blade style which is why you dont see bead blast on the top line. The grooves are milled not pressed, the entire face has the tightest milling while the neck transition also has a light mill to show off how well this head is made. The toe extends past the top line not boxed or tear drop but in between for the perfect profile from all angles. Simply put your looking at the best cavity back money can buy. SEVEN has also produced a set matching gap wedge (see below) This is important as many golfers have a slight distance gap between the PW and a traditional blade AW. This is a big deal and we highly suggest adding it to your order. SEVEN has produced the base set as 5-PW with optional #4 and AW. Below the specs, notice the lofts are pretty traditional unlike most irons on the market today the F.P (offset) is extremely little and the head weights ideal to produce the recommended swing weight for most players. The New SEVEN CB retails at $350 per head and while this is still considered very expensive each head cost more than $200 to make and that isn't including cad, heat treatment and design fee's. Simply put these are highest quality irons money can buy for now. The New SEVEN CB is now in the TSG ProShop
  7. Just look at the chart with Modus 105s your at D0.5 if thats good for you then great. Standard is also 37.25 on the #5 so if you bring it up to 38" I think your fine on SW.
  8. Full skinny in the blog with pics right here:
  9. Whats interesting is that the difference between a high vs low kick point is only about 1"
  10. Its a project with Epon and their Korean Distributor C&S. Its about 2 years old now. Shafts are made in Japan by FSP while the heads are made in Thailand at Endo. They are adjusting the epon molds doing things like ordering new sole molds these are all adjustments and not new original designs etc.. The irons in the photo is the P3. Which by the way is still not sold out despite what fan boys say. These clubs all have very light heads look at the P3 version D0.5 stock, look at the lie angle on the driver 62* those two things show who the intended target is. They were at the U.S golf show demo day as well.
  11. This is a photo of the stock seven MB. The 2nd runs which are what is shipping now all come standard with copper underlay and nicr satin finish.
  12. Read the blog for the write up, enjoy the pics right here:
  13. I was talking to a major club designer yesterday about FP. His irons he just produced had consistent offset of 6.0FP which is basically ONSETT. He had 2 prototypes for me to look at both had the same FP but one had a tapered neck while the other had a parallel neck. Im not talking about inside the hosel Im talking about the outer area. One club looked like it had offset while the other did not yet both had the same FP. This is something golfers dont realize is the neck also plays a big part in how it looks. often when we see a parallel neck we say that club has offset. A little bit of a rant here . ( not against you nobs ) - Offset is super important for performance. true 0 offset is a nightmare for even a professional. As far as I am told no tour players have true no offset on a taper blend neck. This whole too much offset thing comes from the internet when the popular guy complains about offset the casual reader tends to agree. Offset is one of the most important things in iron design and it can be done many different ways like art. A lot of people also think they will hook it with offset and while that is logical to my brain as well it is not the case if you adjust to the club to not hook. Its ok and good to adjust and we should do it with every club. Professional players adjust to not hit hooks and by doing so have the benefit of offset working for them while hitting straight shots. This is seen more in Japan than anywhere else I feel. Many pros here play medium sized CBs and sometimes game improvement clubs and these are guys who have that natural hook they are trying to avoid. With offset just about everyone will hit it straighter and more consistently yet you wouldn't know this by reading the forums.
  14. Yes it seems like they are as the previous version had more offset, rounder sole and a longer heel to toe profile. These here do have a thicker top line. Unique indeed.
  15. Of course the full skinny is in the blog but if your just interested in photos have at it here. The best part was spending time with Tario as he was working the booth.
  16. Different for each player. What people need to understand is golf is a very unique and individual sport. What works for you may not work for me. What I also want to educate people on is that every driver out now is within 5-10 yards of eachother. There is no getting away from the rules and limitations put on equipment companies by the R&A/USGA. Its all about finding the right driver/shaft/specs for you that has the proper characteristics for your swing. What I can say is the STAR version seems like a higher MOI more weight backward design with a closed face and rounder shape. This tells me its for the smoother or slower swinger or someone who battles the slice or needs a more rearward cg.
  17. Full info in the blog! pics right here! This wedge is on a different level, the tech is first of its kind. 4 piece, vibration dampening, internal tungsten in a package that is no bigger than past vokeys! 718 T-MB - while it looks the same talking to the Titleist people it seems the internal weight structure makes it even easier to launch with more forgiveness on the toe and heel yet it dont balloon due to the strong lofts. Best of all the matte gray on the exterior is gone for a really nice almost black gloss look. Enjoy!
  18. Come monday we will share the skinny on the new seven products! www.sevengolf.com
  19. Snapped some shots of the Japan only Callaway EPIC "Star" driver today and figured now would be a good time to go over the differences between the standard sub-zero model and the Epic star version found in Japan. First thing to note is Japan offers both models but the Star has been met with explosive demand as of our orders placed near the end of Janurary are now shipping sometime in May and beyond. The Epic star is not an adjustable driver many players in Japan prefer traditional epoxied style hosels myself included. Another big change is that there is no forward weight which means the star version likely has a higher MOI and creates straighter more stable yet less workable shots. Finally there is the weight rail in the rear that the sub zero version does not have. This is to position your weights to create a performance bias. The specs are a little different as well. The lie angle is more upright which favors the player who comes over the top to help fix a slice. Another difference is in length as the sub zero model comes in at 45 inches standard while the star version is a bit longer at 45.75". The face of the star also appeared to be slightly closed although I cant verify this It was visually apparent. My take is that this is the epic for the higher handicap when compared to the sub zero model. In Japan the star is outselling the sub zero and has the longer back order list. If this driver sounds like a good fit for your game you can order one here from the TSG Proshop

  21. FYI this is the same maker as Crazy Tour and SDJ. The goal was to combine the performance of the crazy tour with an improved milling like the SDJ 115 proto.
