  1. I gotta say this is an amazing FW, If I didn't enjoy deeper faces this would be the dream club, the setup is square, its a pleasure to hit straight, its flat out forgiving for something geared toward the tour player.
  2. The ONOFF irons were released recently limited edition but still abundant. They are 100% the same as the ones people label tour only. I have hit these and I think the CB1006 is the better club as they are easier to hit vs the CB247's. They are very very similar and IMO not worth the extra money unless you really like ONOFF.
  3. Hey Bogey Dog, the 301's heads are heavier than the JPX so IF you switch out the I-10s into these irons you will have fewer swing weight issues and will not need as much tungsten powder or tip weight.
  4. Its 449.00 plus shipping and paypal fee's. These have a raw finish and a very sweet soft feel, taking a look at the grooves up close they are deep, clean and sharp. I took the set out onto the course for practice time 4 times last week and they provide the most spin I have ever seen, Imagine the GAS1 Forged wedges with the illigal bottom milled 5 grooves, well these are legal and pack the same amount of spin if not more. When your shot requires to slide the ball up the face it produces the most of any hands down.
  5. The biggest variable is always the swing. With lessons i'm learning to hit any driver down the line 2* open with X flex or 2* closed with R flex. The key is sound fundamentals and the ability to diagnose and break down the swing's compensation and flaws or the necessary adjustments. Only when its physically or mentally impossible to for a player to make the proper move should they consider drastic equipment changes like face angle adjustments. I would like to see our members focus on understanding the swing before ordering custom face angles. But the option is always on the table for those who would rather tweak gear than to put in blood, sweat, and tears on the course and range. TSG is working on a way to help the swing guys, stay tuned for some heavy upgrades to the website!
  6. Yes there are many, too many actually. Anything with a higher bounce and less camber not to mention almost no killed trailing edge and a nice blunted leading edge will work. Again the ultimate digger wedge is the TOUR Seida. BTW The MTI wedge will be available at TSG 10/16.
  7. Both the fourteen 770 forged and the Epon 301 are amazing clubs, the Epon 501 is a great club that is for sure more forgiving on off center shots but I would base it on where you make contact on the face and how consistently. If your mis hits are out near the toe more than heel, or high center then you may want to consider the 501 and sacrifice some feel. If your mis hits are near the toe or higher center than either the 770 forged or Epon 301 will do you good.
  8. Hey Glenn, I would suggest getting the pulls from bogeydog, great price they are brand new and never hit as well as it seems if the R300 is too stiff for you and you need help getting the ball in their air these may be key. Anyone who has a slower swing speed and needs help getting airborne should be looking into these shafts. One thing though is that they can be a disaster for anyone who has an aggressive or medium/fast swing speed.
  9. The finish will wear the same as the copper finish. It wears a bit nicer imo, less of a brown rusty look. Compared to the Technity or Model X's these provide more spin and IMO look better to the eye.
  10. The optimal thing to do would be going to a high end fitting specialist and having your distance gap analysis done so you know exactly where your yardage gaps are. then you decide if you want to fill them in by changing lofts, using woods, driving irons or whatever. Also make sure if you have different shafts in your FW's or UT's that two are not too close in distance. Another few things to consider is if you hit Irons better than you hit wood style clubs, also do you hit FW's better or worse than you hit UT's? Many times you will find you put a different swing on different clubs without noticing it or perhaps even on purpose. Myself, I enjoy fairway woods over utility woods and deep faced ones at that to avoid a pop up when i have the fierce descending blow. There are many aspects to take into account but honestly step one if you have not already done this is to take a dozen lessons within a 3 month period and work very hard on your swing to get the ball down the line. Right now Im playing 3,5, & 9 AF201 woods with Mach Line stock stiff shafts. Had to toss the 7 wood because it was shafted with a roddio and it was flying as far as my 5 wood. Most people have gaps just above the 5 iron and below their last wood.
  11. It would be nice to test out and let us know if you do it but at this moment I doubt anyone has tried it. Sounds like a good match but you would have to grind the shaft down or bore out the hosel so it fits.
  12. There is nothing wrong with X100 shafts, Main thing is that its the optimal shaft for your swing. S400 across the board is the most popular wedge shaft around. I suggest giving them a try.
  13. In most cases like the MB's it means nothing, I have seen many of the same products identical in every way stamped studio. I would consider it a sales aid.
  14. We will have them, I have never hit them but it looks like MTI favors function over clean lines and style. I still think they are on the uglier side of the wedge spectrum but it has me intrigued. I have tried very hard to get along with the Chikara wedge but my steep swing vs its sharper leading edge and killed trailing edge just don't mesh for my personal swing yet its the best looking wedge hands down. When I look at the shape of these MTI Type D wedges I am not too thrilled but I have a good feeling that it would be better for my downward angle than the type S version. For those who have a steep angle of attack and produce heavy spin like me, the Tour Seida is a big help and something i strongly suggest.
  15. Expect big things at the golf show late Feb.
  16. If the tourstage has treated you well for 40+ shots thats a great sign. I always say anything before the first 40 shots are the honeymoon period.
  17. Some people get great results from hybrids, I do better with 7 & 9 woods don't count those guys out. With a stable shaft they are gems.
  18. Check it out guy's Crews golf has just released a Limited 1000pc set 52/57 combo of a Raw Spin Max wedge. The wedge is made of 8620 cast carbon steel yet feels like an ultra soft forging. It has a raw polished finish and hand milled grooves and face. I few sets only for those looking for the most spin possible from any wedge available.
  19. Drawing the line on the ball is another good way but i wouldn't say its the way of the Tour across the board. If your hitting balls in a fitting it would make sense to do both methods lie board and the line back to back then compare for extra insurance that you got it right. If your gonna go this far I would also suggest at least a distance gap analysis and shaft fitting analysis with a launch monitor and a variety of different shafts and heads.
  20. Correct, its a new driver called the EMB its a high MOI driver that is square shaped. I do have a couple of prototype bags on the way also for pics. New head covers on the drivers and fairway woods look slick as well.
  21. Yes let me clarify what I was a little wrong about in the original post. This finish is called Vintage Black or Vintage Copper, the original copper like the X-model is no longer available. The three finishes available for the new AF-Wedge is Vintage Copper, Flat Black, Satin.
  22. Ill remember to reply in a more friendly tone to you, and I was afraid that that other guy carried a knife
  23. Its set to come out in 8-12 months from now so what you guys are hitting aka " supershaft " is still in test mode. perhaps member " somedevil " will post about his several on course experiences with the shaft.
  24. What happens when you cross breed Epon's flat black finish with its amazingly soft Copper finish? Introducing the Vintage Black Copper Wedge! Now you have 5 custom choices for the 207KGX : Mirror Satin Copper Flat Black Vintage Black Copper
