Instead of getting a custom grind I always suggest simply suggesting a wedge that has a grind that you desire already on it so that the weight and design is not altered in any way outside of what was intended. There are so many wedge grinds on standard wedges its unnecessary to mess with many wedges. So in other words if you can find a grind on a wedge that comes standard that fits your conditions its the better route to go.

Epon - Someone needs to set the record straight.
TourSpecGolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Thats too bad, It shows what works for many doesn't necessarily work for the everyone. -
The Taylormade XR Forged is a new Japan Only Series Iron Forged with a big undercut design. It features Taylormades most advanced Oval-shaped ICT to date and has a multi material design. Its body is made of S25C while its face is 410SS for a high rebounding yet soft effect. Its ultra low center of gravity helps get the ball up easier and aligns the club with the rest of Japan's XR series drivers, fairway woods and irons.

Watch Out! This guy carries a knife on the course Is that for rabbit or deer?...jk Very nice write up and awesome set!

Every OEM is different, I am not sure how ping does theirs but a simple phone call to their customer service line may just give you the answer. I do know that EPON is the only brand that will remove the finish, bend the club, and refinish the club when a customer custom orders a set bent. Perks of being located at the factory. Also pings are cast, its very difficult to to warp the lie angle through use. Im just guessing but I assume they have different casting molds and they make a certain amount of the most popular color codes.

Putters should be coming by the end of the year. Hybrids im not sure yet. Another big surprise will be coming at this months end as well.

So bill San, I assume you have other DASS putters my question is can you feel the difference between a DASS anser with honey comb vs this DASS signature series i sold you? I ask because I feel a difference of softer, same difference as a golds factory putter with vs without the SS304 premium zone insert.

just take it to your club maker and have him test the CPM's. Have him calibrate his machine first using the 300g calibration weight.

yes the sole and face will wear with use, and yes Mr. Idrive will soon be sporting the first set of coppers around. Also superkunk has one of 3 sets currently made in black, the other 2 are with Epon sponsored pro's in Thailand. If any members are curious how much this would cost its 55.00 more per club to have yours in Black, Copper, or full Brushed Satin over the standard Chrome Satin.

EPON 2008 New Products w/PICS!!!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Guys FYI on the new Epon Driver, there is a difference the Lie angle is 1* flatter the center of gravity is more toward the heel making it easier to hit. Also in regards to the new Type J replacement, it has a hair less offset and the center of gravity is lower in the #3, #4, and #5 irons. -
My Friend, its not a proto tour forge, its a set of black AF-301's that you got from Golf Craft Lets not confuse the guy's this is a custom option for everyone here at TSG.

Help Me Understand Game Improvement Clubs
TourSpecGolfer replied to bogeydog's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I think thats pretty accurate, and bogeydog does have a point, It would make more sense to have weaker lofts on a lower CG and more forgiving iron to further enhance ease of use. I guess it comes down to would you rather have more distance or an easier time getting the ball into the air. -

TourSpecGolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Again guys, its the setup/swing not the club head. How can faster than average ball speeds and reduced spin equal less distance? Also when you are talking about sweet spot are you aware that is a term used by OEMs and the sweet spot actually doesn't exist its in fact the location of the center of gravity. Please read " how golf clubs really work and how to optimize their designs by Frank Werner and Richard Greig" , also Wishons search for the perfect driver. We have done launch monitor fittings with dozens of players on course and in the bay and ANY driver depends on the setup. For some people it takes a Roddio, others an OZIK, others a V2, in the end if the shaft doesn't fit your swing you wont get the distance you want. Try your driver with 5 different shafts and then try to tell us that they all go the same distance. LM numbers are not bias, for my personal swing I get less distance with the RODDIO and AXIV than the X-CON 5 and my current 6-ply prototype, others get better numbers with the Axiv and Roddio etc.. These are the basics of club fitting and nothing spectacular. -
Epon - Someone needs to set the record straight.
TourSpecGolfer replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It depends on how well the driver setup and specs suites your swing. For me its just as long as any I have hit but with the best feel hands down. When on the Vector or Zelocity it produces higher ball speeds and more distance than most drivers. There is no one who can set the record straight because we all have different results based on our swing, the shaft, and the specs it's built at. This is common knowledge for any driver, if it doesn't suite your swing the results wont please the player. I also don't get what your saying about high spin? Its a very low spinning driver which leads me to believe it could be issues with your swing. If it was short people would not be buying backups, simply read the reviews man, Its a cannon. -
