The Callaway ERC 3 Driver w/PICS
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
This club has 27 holes under its belt now. Its knocked what I thought was the best driver on the market out of my bag. ( prgr T3 black ). Same PT-6 shaft at the same length and swing weight and the difference was more than 10 yards. :tsg_smiley_yes: The ERC3 is longer than my non conforming drivers and has a sound and feel much better than anything callaway has ever produced. -
I played 1 round with each so far. Beres takes the initial win for me. Key words are "for me". For some it may be the opposite, Its honestly too early to tell and only personal preference. They both have NS1150's but the Miuras are a half inch longer and also one swing point heavier. Beres feels like a better forged steel, It was IMO softer, vibrations more pure while running up the hands. I personally think its because Miura uses spin welded hosels and perhaps that kills some of the great feel. I will say that it is in question if Miura uses a Japanese foundry or their Taiwan location. With Beres we know for a fact its 100% made in Japan at Sakata Studios. I have a tee time this friday and I hope my 3 sets of EPON irons arrive in time. Whatever the case I think i need at least 5 rounds with each particular iron before i select what stays and what goes.

I have heard that rumor many times. It could be true as Nike has been holding out on a putter maker and they do have the mula :tsg_smilie_money3: I agree, I am bored of cammys but the guy has style and I appreciate that. Here is that link i promised the Cammy fans: New Scotty Scans and Pics -

ComoCome Goes Crazy with Wood Head Covers!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Im pretty sure they have these for all of their characters. let me know what you are trying to match and I will check it out. Currently shops have a limit of 10pcs each because output is only 200 per month due to the hand made factor. I was told these are the finest materials ever used for a pom pom cover and that they hold better than jan craig in the rain. -
So first they went overboard with the hand made leather laser cross head covers that retail for $350.00, Now a gothic Sterling Silver hat clip ball marker set in a leather case for $750.00. To top it all off hand made in Japan driver, fairway, and utility wood covers made by the same people who produce Mieko Uesaka's Sweaters! It is hand made of 100% wool for body, 60% acryl +40% wool for Pom Pom's. Driver covers cost $125.00 Fairway Woods 110.00 Utility Woods 80.00

Green and Orange pics of the Premium Zone Putters
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
That brings up another controversial topic. Scotty is one of the only guys who pays people to play his putters per event. Many other putter companies have a bit of a tiff over that and think its unfair. I personally think its ok, but it says something about why so many play his putters. I will scan some images of some unreal scotty putters that are beyond circle T. I think they will blow your mind how sweet they look. Give me several days and i will make a separate thread on it. -
Green and Orange pics of the Premium Zone Putters
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Yes I agree as far as stamping and finish goes but not design and performance. there is this new 1 of a kind Scotty SCS pyramid GSS putter sold to a buyer in Japan. Its unreal! I think Vox got it. As far as shape goes I personally like the Hoshino prototype best but thats my personal flavor. For me scotty lacks in design concept, The Futura, C-5, and the Circa series not to mention Scotty doesn't venture into proven inserts or new technology that creates a better roll. Scotty is for people more concerned with style and collecting IMO. TMs ASGI, Yes C-Groove, Gauge Japan 3RTNC and now this new G-Field Insert are steps in a better direction and thats fact when you study numbers, skidding, and other performing factors. As far as roll and feel cameron is falling behind, even his GSS models don't compare to the soft feel and roll the new SS303 insert in these premium zone putters. Before I was even into import gear I collected Scotty putters. And I can honestly say i have tried all flavors. don't be fooled guys, GSS, SS303, SS304 and all these metals are cheap when purchased in bulk. Putters come down to design. Now days putters have their backs milled in china then shipped to the states or Japan for the face to be done or the final polish, stamping and finishing. Here is how I break it down: Best Design and Performance 1. G-Field 2. Yes 3. G. Rife Best Quality in Materials and Process 1. Bettinardi 2. Hiro Matsumoto 3. G-Field Best Aesthetics and Style 1. Scotty Cameron 2. G-Field 3. Bettinardi -
Iron Profile: New Callaway Forged ERC HOT
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
What is a Tunite insert? Dont get the Ti vs the Forged Mixed up as they are tottaly different in design and materials. Here is the breakdown on this new model: The ERC HOT irons feature a "Spring" Steel Face, Soft Forged Body, and TPU (Thermo Plastic Urethane). - The Spring Steel Face is made of a high rebounding material used to increase the initial ball speed. In addition, the sweet spot has been expanded. - The Soft Forged Body promotes a soft feel and increased control. - The TPU futher increases the soft feel at impact. -
Its Forged, and its their most player iron after the X-18 Pro Series. X-Tour X-18 PS New Forged ERC HOT

The stiff didnt have enough kick for my swing but it could for yours. Its a more user friendly version of the original which was a very popular pro's pick in Japan. Other than that cant tell you much im sorry.
-
Its a shaft for a hitter not a swinger.
-
I didnt think i would care for the green when i first saw it but now i think its easiest on the eyes when compared to the other colors. very subtle and clean minty fresh look to it :tsg_smiley_laughatyou: Best part is the matching grips. I still stand by these putters being the best anser's ever made.
-
Up against my new Miura CB 1006 Irons will be the new Honma Beres TW901 players cavity backs.
-
My experience with this is the same, very long and dumb easy to hit, but they are for slow swingers and not sugested for higher swing speeds which is probably the reason your seeing it come apart. I don't think these are that good as no JPGA, LJPGA, or top amateurs have ever used them. Also Bridgestone has no control over what the shops in the Philippines try to do with their product, their could have been a recall or not. I have sold quite a few of these and have never had complaints about the problems you mentioned. call it coincidence or bad luck, they would have to have dozens of this issue occur before even considering a pull of the entire product. Try the ViQ2...

The Callaway ERC 3 Driver w/PICS
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Yes it is USGA conforming. As far as weight goes its stock D2 with the PT-6 or 6V05. IMO its one of the top drivers from the Japanese market. I have not hit it enough to say where it ranks on that list and as always there are different strokes for different folks. -
Is this a look into what could be on the Horizon for Callaway and its next product release in the States? 6 months? 2 Years? Callaway makes top end equipment for the Japanese market cause they are willing to pay top dollar for the best technology. The Forged ERC Hot Irons... Too Solid, and now the ERC 3 driver with a traditional hosel, full titanium head and a crown made of chemical milled Ti technology so its ultra light without that odd sound or feeling the carbon based models give. Even the stock WD-1000 shaft contains 4 Tri-axial Weave technology like Axiv and Rombax use. Everything is pretty top notch and its my best guess this new hottie is a look into the future of callaway golf!
-
Still brand new to the market, I have been hitting them since feburary and liking it a lot. what i notice is that its a bit more tight than the original axiv shafts and it puts the left side out of play a tad more without producing fades. Shaft is designed to help you reduce spin and fly straight with a mid-high trajectory for more distance.
