  1. The only reason I hit it higher is that Joe tweaked the lofts on my long irons because I hit such a low ball, have always played run up shots with 3 and 4 irons cuz I hit it so low..so in my case these are definitely hitting the ball higher..which in theory means I should be able to quit running thru greens..the thing I really like is the feel, which with the stock Apex shaft was non existant compared to these. The mid and shorter irons are essentially the same controlled flight I've always had but with greater feel, if that makes sense...another thing is I hit into a 2 club wind and no shots ballooned..they just bored upward, peaked, dropped which is something I have never seen in all my years of playing in the midwest wind tunnel...even when I just smacked the ball as hard as I could saw no ballooning..it may be a miracle, or Memorex (if you remember the old commercials), or some kind of hallucinogenic flashback but if the future holds this phenomenon to be true and I can cease worrying about balloons into the wind I may sleep with these clubs for the rest of my days... Andy..get well soon, kidney stones, while not something I have had personally, have felled many of the strongest folks I've known due to the pain. :surprize: I'll stick to orthopedic injuries thanks...did they blast it with sonar or actually cut you, if I can ask? Just the phrase "nice sized kidney stone" causes my eyes to water and body to cringe..I think I'm suffering sympathetic pains.. :D ..something about the thought of a sharp edged chunk of rock moving thru the small, tiny, itty bitty tubes in my liquid excretory system makes me uncomfortable..."pass naturally" hurts almost as much when you realize it means that self same rock shoots out of my wanker causing me to punch holes in the walls near the john...damn...I need some morphine just thinking about it... Hoping you get to enjoy your trip...take it easy on your wife and kids ( if you're as bad a patient as I am they may try to kill you before you recover   )

  3. Hit about 85 balls this afternoon and have fallen in love with the Tour Concept shafts..I can actually feel where the clubhead is...very smooth and a nice kick at the end..beautiful ball flight..I am not used to seeing my shots go as high as these do...granted it's only the first range session and the ground is really soft so my feet were not solidly anchored but I am more than pleased with the work Mr. Kwok did on the Hogans... on a completely unrelated note...a flock of at least 55 Sand Hill Cranes flew over while I was practicing...they were at least 600ft up but damn they are big birds and have a very unique call...they circled around me for about 5 minutes before moving to a higher altitude and moving on... Andy..enjoy Florida and hit em good...
  4. Nice view indeed Alan..if you look really close you can see a periscope in the distance just to the left of center.. :surprize:   ...going out shortly and whack some balls around ..can't wait any longer...must hit golf balls.. Mike...glad to hear you're liking the mizzy's..like it would be possible not to..those are just such nice irons  .... I really wish spring would get it in gear...am tired of driving thru snowstorms and living with the temp no higher than 40*...just so I can bitch about it being to hot in another couple of months..my youngest and her mom are in Florida as I type this and I got stuck here dealing with stuff...sigh...I can feel myself earning a couple of road trips this summer...seriously considering Oregon as a destination just to play all three of the Bandon Courses (what's money but something you spend right)..altho the thought has occured that I could pay vagolfnut a visit in Myrtle also ... may no diseased yaks spit in your porridge..enjoy the day
  5. I can't imagine how much time it took just to think all that up much less make it work...creativity is amazing  ..thanks for posting that Mike...
  6. Moscar...love the Tom Waits right now I have (oops i have to think which could be a problem) U2- Joshua Tree Led Zeppelin - IV Counting Crows- August and Everything After Phish - Nectar Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead
  7. LOL   good one Mike...
  8. I think I have to think too hard to figure out the joke...ergo...not even gonna try... :tired:
  9. A Canucknucklehead Wannabe? I don't know about any of you, but I wannabe in front of a mooseknuckle most of the time...I'm glad somebody is enjoying those Z's, and playing well to boot. Chainsaw..you just need to turn the brain off ...i think...but then again what do i know...i live in a state where people have to plug their cars in so they start in the winter thus am not qualified to comment about brains or lack thereof... Mike....let us know how those 37's are working..
  10. If I hadn't reshafted I'd have Iron Envy...I must have hit the 37's twice a week for 4 weeks trying to decide whether to change irons or just reshaft..love those clubs  ..as for driving yourself nuts that's part of the fun of being human...if I can't create my own chaotic clusterf*** betwixt my ears it's time for medication adjustment, I love doing stuff I'm really really good at and messing with my own head qualifies... ... I look forward to hearing how your game improves now that you've gone back to blades..which will of course force me to try and sell a couple of children and an ex-wife into slavery so I can afford a custom set of 37's from Chris..after all it's all about one-upmanship...
  11. Sam..there's a thought I never considered...accupuncture..hummmm...I'm thinking the scar tissue issue (poetic eh) is a result of the injury not the cortisone...most of my joints hurt all the time anyway so pain is my friend...and I was once married to an extremely large pain in the ass..not friendly...I give this another week or so (had the shot yesterday) and hopefully the weather will get warm enough I can try swinging again...I really really really need to see what those TC shafts are like in the irons...I am not now and never will be a fan of delayed gratification.. ..
  12. Well..got one swing and my arm tried to fall off.  ah well I used to be tough..apparently now I've become a girly man :surprize: ..Thursday they shoot this sucker full of cortisone so I should be able to swing by the time it warms up again...back down to 23* today..hope you all are well and be sure to avoid spitting camels.
  13. reserve didn't get met...too bad cuz i think it was a great idea...unless it rained the day of the race
  14. Holy Warm Weather..supposed to be 60* today..March..Wisconsin...60*..oh what to do what to do..LOL.. :surprize: ....taking my youngest down the hill to the range and let her smack a few while dad checks out (finally) the reshafted irons  ..I reinjured the elbow the other day :D but pain is all relative..(just look at mother-in-laws)..so I'll load up on anti inflammatories and tylenol, fill every ice tray in the house and stick them in the freezer so I'll be ready for the chat room tonight.. ..I figure a little discomfort is a small price to pay for the therapeutic value of hitting golf balls with new clubs.. ..I love this game!!!!!!
  15. Imaginative...I love the comments about the bottom asking for body shots..like anyone would look at the rest of her :surprize:
  16. He didn't die so no Darwin award...but he obviously has a single digit IQ...hopefully his sperm count is as low so he can't reproduce
  17. The 01...need simple straightforward angles for alignment..as in point and shoot...the little gooseneck thing just gets me guessing if I'm set up right and if I start to think about it I'm doomed. I like the looks a lot
  18. Ah a golf vacation in the middle of March..Hipcheck I am envious..enjoy the trip and the new shafts...am also glad that you mentioned snowing after talking about being in the middle of a foot of fresh powder...thought for a minute you meant Columbian marching powder...sorry just a bad flash back.. :-D
  19. if you were in my shoes we'd need a larger pair..talk about clown feet..  ..pretty good for early in the morning..on a monday no less...or i could just change my name to shoeless shoe... and you're right they probably will drop a load when i first ask if they will check the loft..this could get to be some real fun.. :surprize:
  20. i do the exact same thing. works wonders. ditto...only takes about 20 minutes to do all the clubs in the bag..am only a little obsessive about it..
  21. Question for all the gurus..since I have never seen a driver that spec's out to the loft stamped on it do any of you guys check the actual loft out before you buy? The driver I'm playing now is stamped 10.5 but is actually over 11* and the back up Gemini I have is stamped 12 but plays to 11.2*...since I'm thinking of picking up a 510TP used from Nevada Bob's I really want something that is closer to 9.5* or 10* than 11* as I am in a lot better shape than last year(finally got off my old ass and started working out after a year and half hiatus...sometimes one gets tired of being wimpy) and want to get the ball flight down a little ...I just don't want to drop a couple of bills on a head and then find out its not what I want. I'm borrowing a tool from the local club builder to take with me and just wonder if it will surprise them when I start measuring face angles? thanks, in advance for the help..
  22. Do I sense a change in irons coming???? And I may need to go into seclusion so I can quit thinking about custom 37's....mmmmmmm
  23. they are quite amazing..but for $500 they damn well should be..
  24. I looked at my clubs this morning..sigh...too much snow still around to even hit shags...not sure if my elbow would stand up to it anyway..gonna give the PT till Wednesday and if it's not any better have them send me to the sports medicine doc and get the cortisone shot...3 days after that i should be able to find a bare patch of ground to smack a few around.. Alan..77 in Feb. not bad at all..
  25. I just read where Hunter Thompson committed suicide last night. I had an opportunity to be part of a group that brought Mr. Thompson to Ripon College in the early 70's to speak. After a night of heavy drinking I couldn't help but be impressed by the unique workings of a brilliant mind yet terrified of the demons pursuing the man, whether imagined or real. If you have never read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail" I highly recommend that you do so as they are marvelous entertainment. Tis a sad day as it appears the demons have won.
