LASIK eye surgery anyone?
shoe295 replied to technomarine's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearIf memory serves..a member here, Slicktry, had it done about a year ago. You might PM him and ask about his experience. I know he debated long and hard about getting it done and was very satisfied with the results.

I guess I am a scracth eater  And here all I've ever been called is an ass scratcher!... You gotta remember ol' Mike's traveled outside of Canada a lot so he's learned that catching moosefarts in a quart jar does NOT qualify as humorous...

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearAl, I think Ari is playing the driver already..west coast guys must get early cracks at everything.. I too am looking forward to seeing Wilson come back into the fray with some new equipment. I will probably be trying their new ball offerings in the spring as I've always had a soft spot for the Wilson Staff name. If I don't get to it before next week Happy Thanksgiving to all, may you and yours enjoy this, my most favorite holiday. Akfly...practice your push up's man..push yourself up and away from the table..LOL  ..hint: I avoid that by eating directly in front of the refrigerator or at the sink that way I have to lift the food farther to reach my face...great for the forearms

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearAh Hip I'm at my worst when I start thinking...but I understand your dilemma, I had a really tough year getting any kind of consistant iron play going...distance control was all over the place, so I'm thinking new irons also...hit Mizuno 32's, 33's and 37's the other day (but only in to a net so it's not really a demo, LOL) and just loved the 37's. Then I see those Gauge MB's, and then maybe the Fourteen's look good but maybe I should switch to a cavity back cuz even the men and women who make their living playing this game us those so how come I think I can get by with blades...anyway you get my drift...too many choices is bad for someone who can't make up his mind..but I sure did like those 37's... :money:

How well would you hold up to this wound?
shoe295 replied to technomarine's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gear1. Depends on what kind of drugs I was on.....or more truthfully I might not notice until the blood started to show on things, which has happened in the past with some gashes a third that size. 2. Wonder how the hell I got it and since we ain't talkin' a shaving nick here get medical help. 3. No need to respond..Karma

Driver Loft Question
Another reason to buy components. A GOOD component company has each head inspected and will come with a sticker indicating actual loft, lie information. Thus, when you order, you can request they pull an actualy spec, not stamped. Makes all the brew ha ha over the loft of the driver you play mute doesn't it  ..since the clubhead can be off a degree and a half or more and still pass tolerance requirements.. :)..which makes it even harder to purchase what you need..thus your point stated above..

Driver Loft Question
Aren't the numbers on the driver stating loft inaccurate more often than not? I've had 4 heads checked by the club builder I use and the results amazed me...Cleveland Launcher stamped 9.5 was really about an 8.5, KZG Gemeni was stamped 12 but is really 11*, TM 510 mid stamped 10.5* is really 12* and a 983K was stamped 9.5* but was really a 9*. He's told me to never rely on whats stamped on the club itself. I found that a fascinating piece of information.

No more dial up !!!
shoe295 replied to Mike's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gearwhat kind of boost to you have to use to get it to work over that distance? and if I stood in the middle could I steal your service? not that I would but it's just a thought...hope that works for you..I hated dial up Mike...congrats on the new service...one can only do one's nails so many times while waiting for a web site to upload.. :surprize:   We've done several wireless installations around southeast Arizona so it won't be like the first time we've tried it. Over that distance we won't really need a signal amplifier. We are using ultra-low loss cable, good access points, directional antennas and should still get about 15-18 dB out of the signal. We could amplify it but you can't go over 26dB without getting a FCC license. We have line of site that is slightly blocked in what is call the fresnel zone by some trees but should still manage a minimum of 2-3 Mbps. If you were in the middle of us you could possible get a signal but with the security setup we have you probably wouldn't be able to do anything. The fact of the matter is, if a computer is up and running online then it can be hacked. We can block rogue access points by using several methods so we arent' really too worried about it. Nice..I wasn't aware you could get by without boosting the signal..technology is such a wonderful thing...and it's even better that it works so well without me having to understand how the heck it does what it do...Ignorance is bliss and I remain a grateful smiling idiot..

shoe295 replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearLet me guess --- bad power sander ! Everything! The list: - Dented dryer on delivery - Broke railing on delivery - Items in stock couldn't be found - Trying to force delivery for a broken treadmill - Trying to force delivery for a broken stove - Broken propane tank They suck! Need I go on? :) Man, that was a long time ago. Since then, Sears has.... - Delivered a broken refrigerator which spoiled all our food - Claimed we were at an incorrect address (Woodland Ave instead of Rd) and refused to pickup the refrigerator they delivered 3 days earlier - Refused to reimburse us for the spoiled food - Delivered my other appliances 6 freakin' hours after the time they said they would - Refused to connect my gas range because the shutoff valve was "too far" from the hookup - Then the delivery driver says "hey, I could lose my job so don't mention this...I could hook up your range for a good tip" Worst damn company ever. I'd firebomb that place....if I knew how. Just offer to help them hook up a demo gas range in the appliance area and forget to tape the pipe fittings..several hours after you leave should have a nice boom ....just a thought
