Sorry to hear about this. It is indeed fragile and I think another member had his Crazy snapped under no apparent pressure as well. Do you have Golfer's insurance? If yes, I think you can file a claim for shaft replacement under that. I had to do that once but not becuase a shaft snapped from laying it down normally... i dropped my bag and the driver hit a stair... bizarre .. Good luck with your replacement.
  2. No doubt in terms of COR... BUT... a certain head profile that maybe spins less and launches lower may suit me or you better than say a head that is designed to spin more and launch higher. Both can still be max COR so yes the shaft is important but the head and what it is designed to do and whether it suits your swing is no less important and perhaps even the most important starting point in selecting a driver... a fella told me that :-)

Pics of Miura heads. Shafts have been removed. Some mud etc o the heads which have been cleaned off.
  4. Yup... to each his own.
  5. Or it could be that the head just does not suit. New does not always mean good and I am not one of those that buys just for the "latest is greatest" thingy. I'm not saying you do but many do. For me to switch, I have to see meaningful performance increase and in the case of a driver, its distance (of course :-) ) like the Ryoma and the jBeam 435 was a quantum leap ahead for me over the Epon 101 in terms of distance. If not, why bother changing drivers if I am getting the same distance. To hit it straighter yes and that is what I think the Ryoma does very well.
  6. I should have a demo soon. I'm just hoping it is miles better than teh 102 was for ME performance wise. I'm willing to sacrifice sound and feel for actual and meaningful distance gains.. Thanks again for the review.
  7. Thanks for the review and the candid feedback on incremental improvement over the 102. This is rather dissapointing as I found the 102 to be less than a success and did nothing much over the 101 for ME. THe Zero also was so niche that there seems to be nothing much from Epon by way of drivers for a while. I was hoping the 103 would have been a marked improvement over the 102. For ME, there has not been anything like the Ryoma or the JBeam 435 in terms of actual on course improvement distance wise but then again, I came from the 101 which I gamed for close to 4 years. Thanks again for the review.

  14. Good thing I didn;t move on the V202..
  15. How about the EPon 101 or 460ZR.. these are quite cheap now and still great heads.
  16. Tario, Picking up on this.. so if the performance differential of the material used is negligible, then can we safely conclude that, all else being equal, the Premia is longer only due to the 1.25 added shaft length?
  17. I would not hot melt as it will change the intended playing properties of the head by altering the CG and with hot melting, from what I recall, you have no control over the CG alteration.
  18. The Ryoma doesn;t seem to be getting much love from you supo. I think the level of your game judging from you index does not need the key attribute of forgiveness of the Ryoma.

You may want to try the FEX 65 SR in the BST now. Great price.
  20. Premia is NON-conforming? I thought Special Tuning was the only non-conforming model in the Ryoma line-up.
  21. I'm just trying to understand the technical difference and if that explains the added distance of the Premia over the D1 OR if it is just down to the shaft length with the Premia setup being 1.25 inches longer. Or if it is the face difference, could be it be that the Premia has a thinner BUT still confirming face than the D1 and is more suited for senior golfers who do not pound the ball that hard have more money for the more expensive Premia. Sorry I know I'm getting old on this but I have to be convinced the Premia has technical advantages before deciding to drop more money for one over a D1.
  22. I've played quite a few rounds now with the 435. Only thing is it has a FEX 55 SR in it now which I find flies a little lower but is much more tip stable than the RD Stiff and hence, better dispersion. The 435 is still the longest head for me but I would say not quite as forgiving as the V-spec. Its not super hard to play but on a bad swing day, a Ryoma is better served but distance wise, the 435 is still the longest for me. I actually think the RD would be a god match for a Ryoma of sorts givne the lower launching and spinning characteristics of the Ryoma over the 435. Am looking for a Ryoma of sorts as we speak.
  23. Another reason I ask what is different in the Premia over the D1 head.
  24. Thanks for chiming in. I dd not pick that up with google translate. Wonder why Ryoma would bother with a D1 and Premia then. If Premia is as forgiving as the D1 and longer, why would anyone want the D1?
