  1. Dang Robbie! Your avatar! Damn! What were you saying about the 435I again? LOL. Thanks for chiming in. Good coming from you as you have hit both. What loft was your V-Spec?
  2. Thanks for chiming in. Yup, I think 10* or 10.5*. I read the Original Crazy is slightly higher launching yet lower spinning than the 435II as well. Got my White Iomic grip with red cap ready for this as well. Am wondering if the Crazy 435 and 435II by default launch higher or lower than the V-Spec assuming same loft?
  3. OK, I’m gaming the Ryoma V-Spec 9.5* with a Crazy Longest Yard 02 Noir SR shaft. This is definitely the best combo for me to date and I am hitting further on average consistently then when I was younger. And for a guy whose driving is the weakest part of his game, this is huge for me. So my next project which I would like to enlist some feedback. I have a Crazy La Bomba (WHITE) Ryoal Decoration shaft on the way in to me and I thought I’d a White Mamba combo to my Black Mamba combo (V-Spec and LY02 J). I saw that Crazy has a La Bomba White 435and 435II head which will work great towards this. Need feedback on which head you think is better and what loft given the RD La Bomba shaft which is not going to be changed. I have listed some aspects of my Black Mamba combo which I think can be improved which is not much:. V-Spec 9.5 head. I am told this is true to loft and with the LY-02 which I read is slightly higher launching than the RD, I find the trajectory piercing but just a bit (and I emphasize a bit) too low. I would like a head that launches a bit higher for a bit more hang time. Roll. While my Black Mamba rolls fine compared to my old AF101 GD DI5 combo (hardly any roll at all), I still think this can be improved some. In terms of forgiveness, yes the Ryoma is already very forgiving, which of the 2 heads will compromise forgiveness more? Do you think the 435 or 435II will be better and in what loft to meet the above 3 objectives? A true 10*. Bear in mind the RD going into this head I read is slightly lower launching than the LY-02. Thanks again in advance.

Just wanted to give back to the forum by way of feedback and review after all the help and feedback to me when looking to update my Epon AF-101 driver. Enclosed is also some feedback on the Quadra Fire Express FW 55 shaft in the EGG Sppon FW 3W and the Crazy Longest Yard Evolution iron shaft in the EGG I+ hybrid. I ended up getting a Ryoma V-Spec 9.5*. I initially put in my old GD DI-5 R1 tipped 0.5 inch into her. No doubt, the V-Spec head for me is lower launching, lower spinning, much higher rolling than the AF-101 9.5. Objective achieved. I then messed around with a Miyzaki Kusala Black 61R shaft in her. Culd not load this shaft and made this combo TOO (yes TOO) low launching and spinning. The ball sometimes just died due to too little spin. Then I pulled the trigger and went for the Crazy Longest Yard -02 Noir playing to slightly below 46 inches and D2 SW. I have about 6 rounds now with this combo and while I think the SR is a tad stiff (I demoed a R and found it a tad soft and I am hoping after a few more rounds and more range time, the SR will run in and soften a bit) I can say I am CONSISTENT and on AVERAGE longer than with the AF101 GD DI5 combo. How much longer? I will estimate about 10-15 metres on average (except when I put on a bad swing and can still duck hook her J). I have also hit more 250 meter drives with this combo in a short time than I have total with my AF101 combo. This is huge for me as driving has never been a strong part of my game. What do I think can be improved for me with this combo? The shaft to soften a bit and for this to be just so slightly higher launching. That is for another thread on a new driver project J The Quadra Fire Express FW55 shaft. I put this reluctantly in my EGG Spoon FW as I found the original stock shaft actually quite good and long. The thing that prompted me was the dispersion of the stcok shaft and of course being bitten by the JDM high modules carbon bug J I also wanted to stick to the stock weight as close as possibly as I figure the engineers at PRGR may know something when desigining a shaft for this head. So how did it go? Here’s the interesting part which alludes to spine-ing. I installed the FW55 with the flames down. Topped every tee shot. I was so pissed off. I then spined her and found that the flames should have been installed logo up. Badaboom. Topping stopped (well except on 2 occasions J) The EGG is very very long for a FW and off the tee, I can get close to my AF101 driving distance and boy does this run and I mean Forest Gump run! The 2 top shots I mentioned… about 2 feet off the ground and believe it or not, ended about 180 meters… running! Run Forest Run! Yesterday, I hit 4 straight and long tee shots with her… distance I would say about 200-210 meters and tight. I highly recommend trying trying the Quadra Fire Express FW series in this head! The Crazy Longest Yard Evolution iron shaft. I got this in a Regular flex and inserted in straight without any butt tip in to the PRGR EGG I+ 19* head. It is definitely stiffer and lower launching than the stock M40 shaft which I found already very good. Only about 3 rounds with it though but so far no regrets. The dispersion is definitely better and I do think at least as long as the stock shaft. What can I say, I am a high modulus carbon shaft convert! So there you have it. A brief review and I know nothing new to many here as I am late to the game but I wanted to post this in appreciation of the many who bothered to give advice to someone returning to the game. Thank you again TSG.
  5. Spoon, have you tried the FEX LD 60? ALthough I went with the Crazy LY 02, I am tempted to try the LD 60 again.
  6. Not the X flex but I did play the DI-5s in regular flex and I find the Crazy and the Quadra FEX shafts both a lot better in terms of stability and dispersion. And length wise, they are a tad longer but possibly because I am hitting it straighter on average :-)

Guys, the Type Js are still a very very solid set of irons! And IMHO, the price is very fair.
  8. Too long? :-)
  9. HI Robbie, I think its 0.355. I just a GD DI in there and now a FEX 55FW and no shim needed. May have got the number wrong as its been a while for me.
  10. There is a set of 4-PW Epon Type J heads only in the buy/sell section which I think is good value. These are great heads! The TS Z101s are also solid heads.
  11. PM replied. Thank you.
  12. Am thinking of trying it out in my EGG I+ 19*. I think they come parallel? Can anyone comfirm. Also, if parallel, I guess it should be untipped? Thanks in advance.

It probably depends on the shaft and you? I play my Ryoma Crazy at 46 and very very pleasantly surprising, I have no issues. I have always played my driver at 44.75 or there abouts. I must say though, a lot of credit has to go to the Crazy shaft. I tried the GD DI and the Kusala Black at 45.5 and no where as good as with the Crazy. I still can hit bad shots, don;t get me wrong as it's very much still the Indian but the LY02 for me is longer, tightere and hence a lot mroe confidence inspiring which is a lot at the tee.
  14. Like the one in the pic. Head or shafted is fine. Doesn;t matter what shaft it has as well. Thanks for looking.

    I second the Ryoma!
  16. Fully agree. I went through 2 different shafts as well before I settled on the Crazy LY02 and yes, I am hitting longer consistently but not 30 yards longer. Maybe 10 yard increase on average which is plenty good enough for me. The LY 02 is also very good in this head for me but then again, its the only Crazy shaft I have tried. The dispersion is very good for a wild tee guy like me.
  17. While I don't have this issue with my EGG sppon, I have a Quadra FEX FW55 coming in for this. I'm still keeping to the weight that tyeh PRGR guys went with but they do have 60 and 70 plus gram upgrade recommendations now.
  18. Interesting. I've not had the number of rounds yet to do a ball by ball comparo. Have been playing the B330RX but will try the Pro V1 as well.

I asked GD International about the BB compared to the DI and weight for weight and flex for flex, they advised that the BB will have a lower (not low) trajectory BUT spin MORE than the DI.
  20. For comfort, I have 14 good feedback ratings at wrx and more than 110 good ratings and 100% on ebay.
  21. Got this is from a fellow forummer last week. Think I will be sticking to my Ryoma since I have put in too much money into that with a Crazy shaft. Make no mistake though, the AF102's feel is great. Probably the best feeling and sounding yet imo. Much better than Ryoma for me. It also launches lower (not terribly low) and spins less and rolls more than the AF101 loft for loft (I have an AF 101 9.5 too). But 3 drivers in the house is a bit too much distress for any bag so passing on this great driver to someone else. This is the AF102 9.5 head with original Headcover and Graphiote Deisgn TourAd DI-5 R1 shaft. Did not need to tip this as the AF 102 hosel is significantly deeper than the AF 101. Due to the deeper hosel, I had to add a half inch butt extention to get it to play to Epon suggested 45.25 finished playing length. Swing weight is slightly over D1. A cosmetic issues to highlight which you don't see at address and absolutely does not affect any play (came form previous owner this way). Hosel paint scratch. It's small when you see it against the ferruel size. Pics attached.
  22. Quadra has hybrid shafts in 70+ and 100+ gram weights as well. Have not played them though.
