Thta's one thing I notice about Crazy shafts at least for my LY02 and the RD... they are not go after shafts. As long as I don't try to kill it, they perform very well but when I have a wid-sih fairway and try to grip and rip, any and all sorts of things can happen.
  2. Neither was I but I thought let's go really white and so far, I lilke her. She's gotta perform consistently though...
  3. Thanks. THe ferrules were by chance and hard to find. I was intending to go with all red ferrules but these popped up and I thought "what the heck".. :-)
  4. Hit about 15 balls at the range tonight. It is loud compared to the V-Spec and ball flight higher but not by much compared to my Vspec LY02 combo (10.5 vs 9.5 V-Spec). Still very very early days of course but White Mamba looks encouraging.. very encouraging. My range at night is very badly lit so I can't tell roll but will know by this weekend I can slice fade the Ryoma V-Spec (especially the last round) but with this on the same swing tonight, straight or strong draw.. not a hook mind you. Misses tonight with this was a snap hook but no right side. The RD Stiff... seemed to hold up very well... again, waggling it, it seemed soft to the extent where you think it may break bt very very different swinging it. None of that noodle waggle feel. This is my first 40 plus gram shaft. Will post after I get a couple of rounds in and more range time. So far.. and this will sound strange.. it seems more forgiving than the Ryoma and Craig's comment about the 435 being the longest he has hit.. again, my range is badly lit and can only tell on the course but it is looking very very encouraging. I will be selling one at the end of the day and so far... it ain't a sure win for the ryoma at this point. Maybe White Mamba just suits me better... I am hoping.
  5. The White Mamba is assembled! Woohoo! 46 inch finished length and D1 swing weight. Haven;t hit it yet and I can;t wait.. hope it's not anti-climatic and that White Mamba works for me. 2 interesting thing I noted. The hosel fo the 435 is deep, very deep. I did not meansure it but 2 inches or just shy of that I am guessing... Also, just waggling White Mamba, the RD Stiff flex seems soft on the waggle. I hope like all the hype and marketing description, it plays tight and is stable as well. I really hope this works for me. Here are the pics ...
  6. If you played say a 5I at D2, would you play a 1/2 inch shortened 5I at C9 seeing that swing weighting is a static number (1/2 inch equals 3 swing weight points assuming all else stays the same). Curious what club fitters or hobby fitters out there think about this. Thanks.
  7. Ebay of all places.... LOL
  8. All components are now in.. Should have time to put her together this week.
  9. Hi Craig, Interesting project. I just got in my La Bomba RD Stiff flex for the white JBeam 435 head. Will only have time to assemble it sometime next week and get it a round or 2 only next weekend. Seems like this is working for you though save the feel.
  10. Looks like they went through some pains to increase the weight and CG. I wonder if the sole will be overly wide.
  11. They have a few URLs but all selling the same stuff... Zipangs are there as well.
  12. Unfortunately, I've seen a Ryoma D1 special tuning (I think) off a chinese website. I guess it was a matter of time.

I'm not surprised. As I was mentioning to the TS, if you are comfortable with a heavier and stiffer setup, going to to the other extreme which I think is what the RD will be in this case, your swing tempo etc will not be able to adjust (nor should it. Clubs need to fit your swing not vice versa). I think given your game, physique, setup etc, you'll be comfortabel with to generalize, a heavier or lighter setup, and it'll be strange I think for one to be EQUALLY comfortable with say a 40 plus gram setup and say an 80 plus gram setup in this case a driver. Just my 1 cent GST included.

Well from what I read, it is NT recommended to play the RD less than 46 finished length.

I read a lot about you playing minimum 70 plus gram shafts and in SX flex at least. I think a 40 plsu gram shaft is going to be quite bad for you. My La Bamba RD arrives next week and I'll have it in a 435 head as well. Wll be able to give feedback but only against the LY02. From my experience, a 70 plus gram shaft is going to play too differently than a 40 plus gram shaft for you to be comfortable if 70 plus gram is what you really are comfortabel with. I know you have hit a lot of shafts too as an understatement :-) but this seems to not be head for a good outcome in your case.

HI Dale, Let me take some. Perhaps PM me your email so I can send them direct.
  17. Any interest in a tour ad DI5 R1 shaft?
  18. wmclarenf1 replied to DaleUK's post in a topic in Want To Buy
HI Dale, I have a Gauge Design A1SP with Fujikura putter shaft if interested.
  19. HI, I have a Gauge Design A1SP with Fujikura putter shaft if interested.
  20. Its the original 435 and this one is by JBeam. JBeam made the Crazy 435 to the same specs as well from what read. I wanted the Crazy head but had to wait a month and I win;t the most patient of people :-)
  21. The 435 custom order just came in from Japan today.
  22. Hi, JBeam makes the head for both Crazy I and II. Crazy 435 is exactly the same as Jbeam FX-BM435 from what I read so from that POV, JBeam is the original. Crazy 435 II apparently is also made by Jbeam but designed by Crazy. I think JBeam also has a 435II under their label as well. Not sure if there is any difference in specs.
  23. To fit 460cc head and non-zip version. Thanks.
