  1. Guys the manufacturers indication of shaft flex, generally speaking is inaccurate. Whilst I acknowledge there area lot of other properties of a shaft to be considered, flex is determined by CPM. Callaway in the old days, wrote a flex stiffer on their shafts. People raved about how good they were. Simply Ely had matched the shaft flex to what (ego aside) people really needed.......smart man!!!
  2. Why do you do this?? You know how much we ALL LOVE MIZUNO. Beautiful!!!
  3. 6.5s?? Whats ya handicap??
  4. Carl, is there any chance of posting your bag in the "What's in the Bag" section. It sounds like a real beauty! Sorry for the threadjack boys.
  5. We continue to be spoilt by an embarsment of riches through the site. Those Gold wedges look exceptional..... but then I'm always up for a new wedge. (played Royal Canberra yesterday and the wedge play was average to good. Absolutely delighted.) There are endless possibilities for testing and shoot outs. When Jack was younger it was too many girls, too little time. Now it is too many quality clubs, too little time.
  6. Thanks alpha_pro. I would say grinding down the muscle back would lower the ball flight and give more control around the greens. The work is very, very good. Gota go off to play!!
  7. Chris, further to the previous, could you advise what exactly has been done to the wedge in the photograph. It looks to me like: 1) P grind ie concave sole 2) Heel relief 3) Toe relief 4) Some grinding to take off some of the weight on the back bottom portion of the wedge 5) It has been refinished in something? ie not the original chrome. Once again C has done a great job on that old Cleveland!!
  8. The 510 is a classic. There are still very few drivers IMO that can match it, including Taylor Made's latest offerings.
  9. Fantastic update!!
  10. Chris the wedge is superb!! ......it's been two days now, where is he SURPRISE from yourself and Carlton??? ....only kidding, however my view is the same as shoe295. I eagerly await the release of the surprise!!
  11. Gocchin your bag is everything we all expected. Simply beautiful. I see you have taken a leaf out of Chris' book and now have two utilities in play dropping the 4 iron. I don't really like my 4 iron, so I am tempted to follow suit. Thanks once again for posting your bag, just sensational!!
  12. Simply beautiful!! Have any of those clubs ever seen a ball??
  13. Bring it on Dave!!
  14. Plus 1 has provided the photos of these in the "What's in the Bag" section. Good lookin clubs!!
  15. Come on be a paparazzi and take the photos anyways. You won't get arrested.....promise.
  16. Those heads are just beautiful. I like you am getting older, and the shaft selection is becoming more critical than ever. Good looking heads are essential. Good luck fine tuning the shafts.
  17. The whole range is pretty sexy!!
  18. Very sexy indeed. Some more photos would be great!!
  19. Well said. I guess if Tiger experiments with the length of his driver the rest of us are entitled. Tiger at one stage went back to 43.5" in order to improve his accuracy from the tee, although he is now back to 45". I think it really is a matter of experimenting to find out what is right for the individual. That said I think there is actually an optimum length for each person and once that length is passed, not only does accuracy suffer, but distance deceases as well.
  20. Would you take one of my children in exchange for one of your sets of handmades LOL If not how about two of them LOL LOL
  21. My suggestion is to join the line. I wasn't aware that plus 1 had any kids, however the information I have is there was somewhere between 10 and 25 sets produced. Not really enough to go round the members of the site let alone the greater global golfing population. The G-Field NC1s are pretty close from all reports. The more you read from plus 1, the more you realise he is a very astute club collector / trader. (A good bloke and a complete club ho also come to mind).
  22. I'm 6"2'' and play a 44.5'' driver. The "old" driver length when I was growing up was 43". I've pretty much always payed 44.5'', however the interesting thing is way back then 44.5'' was considered extremely long. I have experimented with longer driver shafts, however I can't quite get the head to the ball quick enough. At 44.5'' I can give it a rip. I know that a lot of the lady pros play long driver shafts, but if you watch their swing with those drivers it looks like the driver is swinging them as opposed to them swinging the driver. Annika Sorenstam case in point. Her swing looks much much better with a short iron, than with the driver.
  23. Why do we always want what we can't have?????? How do we know when we have a future classic?????? (There are numerous posts of people buying another of an old favourite, after selling the original) ........more importantly why won't Angelina Jolie return my calls?????????
  24. I like all others hope Honma sort themselves out. The products they have produced over the years have been quite innovative and exceptional quality. I play a Honma Twin Marks Dual Attack 3 wood. The club is a combination of a fairway metal and a hybrid. .......and it would take a miracle to knock it out of the bag
  25. .....maybe you could take some pictures of the food as well as the clubs!! By the way, when does the show start??
