like the other guy said.. if the dirver is hitting well don't mess with it.. and the alila shafts > nv, nvs and even the one - i have tested and run alot through our own spine locator and really many times the shafts come out with no spine found.. but it is not a big deal to pull a shaft and check the spine and reglue it.. being the person has a good shaft puller and does'nt use too much heat...

rick, you might want to look at a heavier shaft for the fwy wood.. 75-85 gram since the club is shorter and the etxra weight will allow for a good swing weight.. putting a graphite in is not problem.. don't know much about the ys fwy shaft.. but have used the ys-power fwy and purple ice shafts for fwy woods with nice results. you could use a pull out shaft also.. both should be a .335 tip hosel size...

umkc, i would tip the shaft any before installation and to make it play firmer - install it all the way in... you will have to sand off a little and that plus the bore depth will make the shaft play about a half flex higher... "even though this shaft may feel flippy-it holds up very well and plays very tight"

it's a good winter project** that will drive ya crazy... like joe said -- it can be done..

t-i-h, i have px 5.5's in some makser as-4 irons.. very close in feel with the two as far as smoothness but the PX's still had a firmer feel on contact . hit the true temper sl 7iron demo a tad higher but control was there.. very good shaft and one for someone looking to pick up a few mph in the swing speed category.. hell which is all of us--right..... anyway i won't be pulling out the PX shafts... the closest thing i like to them would be the true temper tx-tours....

thumbs up to the new true temper shaft.. did a demo 7iron last week with it , stiff flex and it really feels nice.. long itme dynamic gold player-- even though right now have the rifle project x's in my irons.. but the 7iron i hit witht he new shaft really performed like the standard dgolds but had a better feel to them - i think.. if your swing calls for a lither shaft these are a great option..

very good shaft, a stiff flex would be fine for your swing speed.. the shaft is not tip stiff -- so it has nice feel to it and produces a mid-high ball flight. still very good control..

that might be your best option because i don't think the dremel has enough horses to do the job.. maybe after you do hammer it back down the dremel may be used to hit the ruff spots... good luck,

if you can't get the 660 -- which should be a easy task with all the dealers here.. but if not the 652 is close in spec's and has that same fuji feel you like..

zojo, did that to a new set of irons i made up 1st of the year.. hit a rocka dn took about as nice a chunk out as yours... we have a grindind machine at work and i smoothed it with it. there is still a small indention but like you i did'nt want to grind too much down to effect the bounce-- just smoothed it out and it has not rusted ... just keep your clubs clean and all should be fine..

closer to 1.25'' taylor's are never very deep..

i don't think you will be able to find justy the parts that easy.. the driver is already a hot item and 99% of the time you will have to buy it built.. same with the shaft--maybe someone will have a pullout shaft to sell but not real easy to get a new one.. ebay may be the best place ot find it..

there is a new c-4 shim out on the market that makes it a dream to reshaft.. cost $10-15 i think and works great. two part shim- if oyu need one let meknow and i'll find out where we got them from..

if your current irons play well for you and the flex feels good ,control is good etc.. than the stiff flex is what is needed. the r-300's are just a regular flex shaft and would have a little softer feel to them but may lend to less control if your playing the s300's well now..
