1. Sorry I had too much Italian Amaron red wine tonight - where exactly do you see a head cover in the pics
2. I think I'll stick to my Bettinardi BB8 DASS models :tsg_smiley_secret: However my father could use as much MOI in the world as possible
3. Hey Gocchin, Nice pics - of both your girl F and your new irons. Both looks great and you know it You need to make an Epon smiley and put it in the smiley section of this board. The new Epon irons all look stunning - they would be a hit in the US and Europe, no matter if the price is $1k for a set of sticks. Quality and great design never goes out of fashion in my world.
4. WOW - looks great We need to have an Epon smiley on the board, Gocchin Is it possible to have the personal stamping made inside the cavity - to the left side, opposite the AF-301 name in the top of the inside cavity ? I would like mine to have "The Greatest" stamped in the inside of the cavity. The sole stamping looks great, but will attract dirt though. Please try them and give us some feedback on how you like them - offset, feel, forgiveness etc. The Epon AF-301 will be my next set of irons for the 2008 Spring Season......110% sure Just need to get this upcoming winter over and out as fast as possible. I really like the looks of these irons - take the best from Callaway X-Forged, Miura/Bridgestone split cavity and then spice it up with some nice industrial stamping, Endo Japan forging and Endo Japan finish and voilá, you have one of the greatest looking cavity back irons ever made - these are purty and beautiful like nothing I've seen......
5. Since you use the Trackman on a frequent basis (BTW I'm proud, when I say that the inventors of the trackman device are two danish guys) could you do a head to head comparison between the Trackman and this $100 Bridgestone device to tell how precise it is, compared to the real pro stuff ?
6. Looking forward to 1-3 Will especially be exited, if you feel/think Miura plays softer than the other high end top of the pop contenders - considering that they are two piece forged spin-fusion welded.
7. This is exactly the kind of answer I expect to get from TM....I agree, you have to protect your own brand and let people think the whole line up is made to the same high quality standards.
8. The Cb-202 have greater bounce and won't dig as much as the Cb-201 did. It's like the Epon Type J and AF-301, they look identical, but small minor adjustments have been made to the Cb-202 head to make it a bit more playable from rough and from softer fairways.
9. I will try and email them at Taylor Made golf, maybe they are as informative and friendly as the guys at Endo/Epon were - but I doubt it highly If they indeed are forged in Taiwan and finished in China - maybe Taylor Made would like to put a name on the plant/company, that does the forgings and finish on the TM forged irons. If I pay more than $900 for a set of irons, I like to know a little bit about the product - but that's just me trying to be a weird connoisseur
10. Yeahh...I wish I knew who forged and finished them - not Endo...... They look pretty good in my view.....better than the Cally X-Forged
11. I think he's talking about these: http://golf wrx/forums/index.php?sh...=118345&hl= Sorry can't post link to WRX site, don't know why that is (TSG is a sponsor at WRX). But a new forged TaylorMade TP iron is in the makings.....R7 Forged TP. Looka somewhat like a combo of the R7 Forged Japan and the old Rac Tp Forged. Check it out on W_R_X.
12. It's the one from WRX - don't get it why I can't use pics from the WRX site in here. TSG is a sponsor at WRX !
13. I also think you should check the new Forged TP iron out. They may be the successor to the R7 Forged:
14. Looking forward to see the scan pics, Gocchin. What kind of scanner did you buy ? I prefer Epson and Canon. OT I installed Vista on my fathers PC in January, 2-3 months after it's official release and I thought it was "better late than never". I found out it was too soon.....I'm a High Tech geek I had to literally throw my fathers scanner, memory card reader and Hp color laser printer out the window. My father is from the older generation and can't understand why you throw something new and fine working stuff out. I told him it was back to Win Xp or buy new stuff. I worked for days to try and find drivers and support from HP and Canon, but they didn't make drivers to the old stuff. Heck, the Color laser printer war barely 2 years old - and still works fine. I sold it for him and bought a new one with a Vista driver that worked. It sucks that the big companies won't make drivers to their older products. Even I have trouble explaining to my father, why a 2 year old perfectly working great color laser printer has to be sold and a new one bought for it to work in Vista I think Vista is somewhat slower than Win Xp pro, even though I have a very fast PC and fast Graphics card and 4 GB of fast ram - it definitely is slower than Win Xp Pro. On the other hand I think the gimmicks and graphics looks better, but I had to skip a lot of the old programs and buy new. But it runs stable so far - only had 4 blue screens in 5 months.....so this is fine.
15. Thanks Chris, for your answer to me I followed the link you posted and have been reading on their website for last hour now....following link after link. Wish they made their Epon website in English too. I also emailed Endo's person in charge of the international tech service. In fact I emailed with him several times and he posted pretty long answers to me regarding the Epon products. Very profound answers. But I didn't ask him about their R&D, I was mainly interested in where they forged and finished their Epon products. I learned that some of the Japan Forged Epon heads are grinded in Thailand, and then shipped back to Japan to be finished. Endo must have a big test center with all the gear they make for a lot of the big names in the US and Japan. His name is Kiyonari Niimi. In fact he invited me to meet him at the golf exibition show in Germany in Münich on Sunday where Endo/Epon have a stand. He will be there. I might go down there, although it's a 5 hour trip from Denmark. I must admit I was surprised over how thorough and kind the answers from both Kiyonari Niimi and Yoko Ando, also from Endo, were. Niimi told me they will try to get into the Euro market through Itochu UK later this year. Thanks again for your answer, Chris.
16. A question to Chris about Endo: Endo is very well known for the forgings of clubs for a LOT of OEM's in the world currently. They forge and finish heads for Tourstage/Bridgestone, Titleist, Callaway, Nike, Ben Hogan, Yamaha, Dunlop, Mizuno JPX and several others, that I don't know of. Now they have their own prestige line of clubs called Epon. But what about club head design and testing - how big is Endo's club test department and R&D department, compared to the other big names in the business - are we talking Tourstage, Taylor Made and Callaway size or smaller or maybe even larger than that ? You know I love Miura irons, but I can't see the R&D at Miura being that big compared to the likes of Taylor Made and Callaway. This is one of the only shortcomings with a small factory like Miura. How can they do thorough testing of their products before they release them, if they don't have a large test center where they do thorough tests before they launch their products ? Miura therefore makes pretty simple and classic club head design, which don't need a lot of testing - because of its simplicity. Endo however makes some very elegant classic head design, but also do highly advanced club head design. I know Endo is a big plant, that can not in any way be compared to the small Miura plant - especially the one in Thailand, but how much of it is the actual forgings and finishing plant compared to their R&D test center ? I know Roger Cleveland from Callaway made intensive testing with the folks at Endo, when he made the X-forged irons and the new X-tour wedge, but I often wonder how much R&D testing Callaway makes inside the Callaway teste center and how much is in reality done in the Endo test center ? I remember a thread, where you posted pics from your visit to the Endo/Epon plant - maybe you heard a thing or two about the size of their R&D test center and how much more than just forgings and finishes, Endo do ? This subject interests me quite a lot, Chris ! Thanks, Claus
17. I am, but I'm always on the lookout I may in fact order another custom built trio of Scratch wedges in Satin Nickel - they look stunning in that finish with custom grind and custom stamping. Just have to get my new 3 Scratch into play (only have had 5 rounds with them so far) and test the grind and what I might need to have changed on the new grind on the next set, I'll order for the 2008 Spring season. So far I'm pretty happy with the modified M grind on my Lob wedge and the DOG grind on my SW and LW....but you know how it is. Always looking for small improvements in my game. And YES! I also visit my swing coach 2 times a month What's your user name on WRX BTW by the way ?
18. This is unfortunate, because I almost was ready to buy some of his satin wedges.........but I was a bit disappointed that no custom grind option was a possibility, when ordering wedges in the plus $300 price region.
19. You mean with custom grind option from Epon on their wedges
20. Must say it looks pretty futuristic - I'm a bit too conservative for this design, but actually when looking at it, I kind of like what I see......interesting design Perhaps the designer from G Field have had something to do with this design - or am I way off here ? Maybe they'll make an Anser 4/BB8 design with some fancy stamps and inserts ?
21. Maybe the TC770 will still be in the line up then ? TC 550 midcapper CB TC 770 mid-low capper CB TC 1000 low capper CB TB 1000 low capper MB I really think Fourteen makes some great clubs, very simple elegant club head design. A guy at my local club bought a set from Fourteen US (TC 770), and he needed to have the clubs bent a bit upright. The club fitter told him they were almost too soft - he had never had anything this soft in his hands before.....to think of that...irons can actually be TOO soft I tried them, and WOW - only thing was the top line was a bit too thick in the short irons. But what an iron......wow !
22. S20C = 1020 Carbonsteel S25C = 1025 Carbonsteel
23. Are you sure C ? The TC1000 is S20C and the TC550 is S25C, correct ?
