Golftown having JDM gear?
It was a one time sale at one particular store location for a period of 4 days only. The limited # of drivers were sold out on day 3 but fortunately I bought my two on day 2. I am still on my honeymoon period.

Fujikura Motore Speeder vs. Mitsubishi Bassara Griffin
Hi T, Do you have any CPM numbers on the two shafts you have been using? I understand that there are many factors such as head weight etc but CPM does give a good reference point for shaft stiffness. I know my stiffness comfort zone is 230 to 240 cpm @ 45" with a head weight of 200g with torque of 3.5 to 4.5.

Too bad that it was not made 'for the rest of us."

Iomic VS NOWON grips
I have both NOWON and honestly, I prefer the regular over the Expert. The Expert is not as soft and IMO, loses some of the original Nowon appeal- sticky and soft.

GTI responds to surprise attacks from mygolfspy.com
I have looked at mygolfspy.com for the first time today and as a lay person (tech challenged), I cannot tell of any similarity between MGS and GTI in general contents or web design. We are here because of our interest in JDM golf gear and JDM related news/development.

Japanese long drive champion driver - heard of this club?
I used to play their hybrids and they are actually quite solid and inexpensive for JDM (still have them in my 2nd back up bag). I did demo their 450 driver with stock shaft (OEM made by Mamiya I think) a few years ago but did not find them particular long. It could have been my bad swing. They do have one model that comes in a 6 degree loft only and could be the long drive head that you are referring.

Did Epon drop their prices again?
Again? I did not even notice it the first time?

New Bassara Griffin
Just notice this new shaft being launched by Mitsubishi at the end of June. Very cool graphic and if it performs as well as or better than the Hawk, I am sure to get one (although the price seems to be 1/3 higher than the Hawk.)

Callaway Legacy or PRGR GN 502
Kevin, I am actually bring one back to HK this week since it is not available there for some strange reason. You and Master can try it out since it is a stiff when we go to DB. R

Callaway Legacy or PRGR GN 502
I just have the Legacy (2008 model) but it was on sale in Toronto just for a period of 4 days as part of a store grand opening. You really don't want to know the price I paid for two brand new Legacy. I am one happy camper.

Callaway Legacy or PRGR GN 502
Hi T, I told you about my new Legacy driver in S flex and after 3 games with it this weekend, I went out and bought another one. The stock shaft is not particularly long but good feel in combination with the head (Epon soft). I was able to find more fairway with this then existing gamer. I realize that the Callaway has the short hosel. Would this be a challenge to change shaft (not that I want to fool around with a good thing now)?

new Iomic grips
Jack, I have the x fusion on a few woods. While it is considered a cord but really not 'enough cord' for me.

Anyone know what bag this is?
There was such a contraption once at my golf club in Hong Kong. It was a golf bag with in build-in pull trolly (folding) or a pull trolly with a golf bag built in to it depending how one looks at it. It was anything but light unfortunately.

Graphite Design Tour AD 85 iron shafts
The 65 and 75 are both good but it is difficult to tell them apart since they are on different heads. I kind of prefer the slightly heavier 75 over the 65 especially on the shorter irons. Now I am thinking about reshafting my Miura cb201 with graphite from nspro850. Machline or Bassara would be my pick since I already have a set of AXIV.

Graphite Design Tour AD 85 iron shafts
T, I am surprised that you did not mention the Tour AD 105 and 115 regardless whether they are on the US site or not. They should be mentioned as this is basically a JDM forum and these two models represent the top of the line for Graphite Design iron shafts.

Geotech N-16 forged in japan?
Well, while the EK is forged 25C, it is not Epon soft. Since I am a mid hdcp, it has just the right amount of offset and head size. For the price, it makes a great back up or spare set of irons.

Geotech N-16 forged in japan?
It said Japan on their site but Gocchin or Chris would be the final authority on this. I know my EK is Japan forged as it said on the hosel.

Gocchin's WITB for 2009 April
Surprising to hear that you think the GN502 is more forgiving than the 701. I just cannot get use to the maranging feel both on irons and FW. Nice looking bag towel BTW. ^_^

Taylormade R9 MAX Live Pics!
T, the Max looks very much like the R7 Limited. Perhaps it is just a modified Limited with FCT feature. I would be interested to hear your comment when you have a chance to hit it with close face angle setting and higher loft and compare it with your new GN502.

EPON 701 vs. Ping Rapture
I was under the impression that the Beres 7 series is more comparable with the Epon 701 and the 800 series would be more inline with the 501 if you look at the loft and size of heads. The Beres 701 and Epon 701 even sound similar since both have large undercuts.

Launch monitors
If you do not use a launch monitor, what else would you use instead (for fitting or launch info)? I have been using a Vector so I do not know whether other LM would be more or less accurate. My club would set up the Vector in our open grass range so data could be more accurate then hitting into a net. However, our proshop does not provide club building service but only fitting for OEM. I guess one can also use the data and take them, as a platform, to a club builder.

New Nowon grips for 2009!
I am glad now they have the black cap. The light color caps drive me nut (keeping them clean.)

Carbon shaft Recommendations for Epon AF701 please!
I find that soft stepping once with light graphite makes very little difference in feel/flex. It would launch the ball slightly higher due to small different in bend point but the difference is very small. T, is it true that quite a few JLPGA players use the Bassara but in R flex ?

Epon AF101 Driver with NGS Superdelight SR shaft
Just look at the spec for Delight and SuperDelight shafts by NGS and I think it is a ladies line or senior line. The flex value is so unusually low and torque unusually high even for Japanese men flex. The 50g+ NGS R would have a flex value of 10 to 11 kg and higher for heavier shafts. Even the Epon e 3042 stock R has a value of 9.3. Perhaps the SR in SuperDelight actually means Senior Retired and not Stiff Regular.
