  2. jacksonlui replied to clevelaand's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
the miura has the thinner topline
  3. i like the way the MD6 feels, it's very CRISP feeling. are there shafts out there that are like this and better?
  4. i thought the super peening shafts where low launch for the faster swinger.
  5. what a great read! thanks!
  6. the iron doesn't look that nice and the driver looks good, it almost looks like the FT-3
  7. looks like you're straightening the right leg on the backswing or maybe it's a S&T type swing. very smooth though, great tempo
  8. price reduction on all three items before ebay
  9. Tourstage TS-B1 putter, 34 inches Excellent condition all around headcover is included, one of the best looking headcovers there is (magnetic enclosure) this is better than the one with the plastic insert, it has the milled grooves on the face $200 shipped and paypal USPS priority mail in the lower 48 CONUS, insurance optional 2008 xdrive 5w this is basically new and comes with the stock shaft which is suprisingly good for a stock shaft. that's why i didn't swap it out, it's a nice combo. Tourstage seems to match their stock shafts to their heads well. it still has all the stickers on it. comes with a matching headcover to the driver, just smaller http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii179/jacksonlui/5w/ $150 xblade utility #3 the shaft is stock, no headcover haven't really had a chance to use this, i had wanted to build a complete Tourstage bag http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii179/j...lade%20Utility/ $115
  10. didn't sound like there was any love for the 901? How does the black on the J36 wear? thanks for the review, keep us posted. I was hoping someone with experience with all three was able to post a review.
  11. wow. so much drama. i've been on their website, eventhough some images are similar but the feel and content seems entirely different. i don't know, maybe it's just me. I don't care, TSG is the best next to golfwrx.

has anyone tried the new iomic grips yet that are available only in Japan? mainly the X-Fusion which looks like it's has cord and the X-Sticky 2.3... can't read Japanese so I'm not sure how the 2.3 version is different.
  14. bah! no 10.5? where's the love for guys with sub 100 swing speeds.
  15. wow, can't wait for the deep faced drivers to come out. I couldn't warm up to the 701G as much as I'd like to.
  16. R9

i had someone do it but it looks a lot easier than working with a normal head. just as you said, prep, epoxy, and stick it in aligned the way you want. that's it. the sleeve is so easy and fast to head up, much better for the shaft. i always have them use tour epoxy so it is easy to remove with very little heat and doesn't stick to the shaft that much, otherwise when you pull the shaft, you have to sand off the epoxy. If you use tour epoxy, the white stuff, you can just scrape and rub it off keeping the original shaft diameter in tact. it's really great for trying different shafts but when you play, you'll probably just stick to one. I plan on finding a few shafts that work for me that will go either left, right, high, and low so i can change them depending on the course conditions. great concept!! too bad Japan hasn't caught on yet.
  17. R9

yup, i have 5 shafts with sleeves so i can tinker away. geek heaven! cutting from the butt will make it feel stiffer but if you add weight back to the head (easily done with the R9), you will effectively soften the flex a little. If it's only an inch, it's really no big deal. The inch from the butt doesn't do too much to the total weight but adding some weight in the head to counteract the swingweight difference will effect the total weight. The good thing about the R9 is that you can add and take away weight easily without lead tape or plugs and try different weight shafts. That's the only way, imo, to combo nirvana. There's so many factors in finding a good combo, with total weight being one of them and getting the right flex.
  18. currently i have it in a stock R9. i hit this a bit high but it's been pretty straight for me. If you have it in a burner, it probably plays to a soft stiff. Must feel nice. i'm waiting for my EV6 to be shafted into a sleeve so I can do a comparison with the same head and my same crappy swing =) I'm suspecting the EV6 to perform better as it seems tighter. The MD6 I have has a very distinct spine and neutral bend point and varies only 2-3cpm. It spines and flo's "nicely" if installed logo down. This was the case for both the MD6 and EV6. It seems to have been design that way since it's more than a coincidence. Does anyone know of other shafts that have the same profile? thanks Jack

Everything I've read says I should use an SR flex but I was only able to pick up a stiff. I'm glad I did, it didn't feel too stiff. I can't wait to try this out on the course. Does anyone know what type of bend profile this shaft has and what type of swing/transition this was designed for? thanks Jack
  20. The EV is a great shaft. I liked it so much I bought the MD just to compare. I'm going to sleeve these up and try it on my R9 to compare the MD, EV, xcon5, altus proto, rombax 7x07, roddio wba, and code6. it's a fun experiment.
  21. it sure sounds like you are coming too much from the inside which can cause a shank, thin, and fat hit. i fought this a lot last year and have since cured it, for now anyways. i'd suggest putting a box two inches from the ball at 12 oclock so that if you come from too much from the inside, you will hit the box. give it a try and let us know how it goes.
  22. i have an EV6 stiff untipped that played at a BBGM of 1.5. I found this to kick less than the Xcon5 but a lot more stable. Sometimes the xcon5 would leak right on me. I don't know if it's because it's lighter. The EV6 is a really nice shaft and has given me more carry with some positive feel. I'm having a good run with my altus so this is in the sidelines right now looking for a head. Jack
  23. thanks. i was looking for the leaderboard training video, i guess not all of them are posted
