Basileus AAA TT1100G 80T Limited Edition Shaft
nobmontana replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
My AAA headlessly waiting for its soulmate to arrive.:) A couple of Regio Formula MBs on their way as well. Other shafts that use Toray T1100G are Honma ARMRQ8, Fujikura Speeder Evolution, Quadra FEx RB . Quickly becoming very popular material used in high end shafts, it seems. Wondering how Seven Dreamers would compare against AAA '15. If the Formula MB even comes close to AAA in terms of stability and feel against the AAA, it has to be one of the best bang for buck you can spend on shafts at the moment. haven't been this excited about new shafts in a while! -
You'll need to translate that for me in terms of Camry vs GTI or something like that.

Uh-oh...look where I stumbled in to!

Anyone try this shaft? Compare to the Basileus AAA 2015?
nobmontana replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Actually both!! :) 80T full length plus 90T on the butt end of the shaft. -

nobmontana replied to Mjr. D's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I read somewhere that the blue Regio mimics the Modus 120 the red Regio M is like the Modus 130 and the new MB is the Modus 125 from an overall shaft profile/concept perspective. I do hope it’s not too high launching with the active tip. I got the 65S for a driver and 75S for a 3 wood. a bit lighter than my usual selections but i am hoping the better material will create more stability with the lighter models. Can't wait to try them out! -

Just ordered a couple of these MB shafts. Hope to compare it against AAA. -

crz450 face cracked/ shaft to recycle ?
nobmontana replied to astroboy's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Totally reuse it! Especially if the shaft was working well for you! -
Just on a side note, I use Sun Mountain stand bags. Nothing spectacular. but for us Montanans, it's a local company! Not many people know they are a Montana based company. I am sure they now make these bags mostly overseas nowadays. I would say 80% of golfers here in Bozeman use Sun Mountain bags and push carts.

The foaming of the head got the P-Tune to weigh about 206g ... the 45.75" length with the AAA was a bit much from a swing weight perspective. I can get a lighter weight screw and get the weight down to 201g ... but I actually am waiting for a release of another head supposedly coming out later this month. I was thinking of saving the AAA for that. A shaft this good needs to be paired with a premium head, right?! ( just trying to justify my next purchase ...!! :) ) It's not the new Epon Zero Kai BTW... The P-Tune in its current weight seems to be a great match with the Waccine GR77 so I'm gonna keep this as is for now.

I hear you Stu-san!! :) My shafts are probably a bit flexier than what you are used to but you could probably play them as they are all on the heavier side. Honestly I've picked up a lot of my JDM knowledge thru your write ups. Thus the similar set ups. I just paired the Stinger with the 153 head and appreciating once again what a great shaft it is. Compared to the Waccine GR77 I had in it before, I think I gained 10 to 15 yards with the Stinger. and the lively elastic feel is just so unique in a good way! Waccine 77 is still a great control shaft for me. Just not as long like the stinger.

Thanks Ash! Yes, very hard to decide which bag of clubs to use. Today I had some extra time on the range with the P-Tune driver and realized how great a control driver it is. In addition, I am finding out the P-tune fairway paired with the Crazy FW50 Sigma is a serious distance monster. Not entirely sure if its the head or shaft.... but the thing goes! I am waiting for the copper to patina so I can actually take them out on sunny days. still a bit too much glare under the sun!!

Thanks Craig! Hoping not to tinker too much but I've said that every single year! So who knows what I'll have in the bag next week....or even tomorrow! LOL

Not sure which set I should be calling "gamer" for this season .. But I got two full bags set up with slightly different taste. NS Pro Regio Formula MB - Is this for real?
nobmontana replied to nobmontana's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Is the color more of a gold or more of a yellow? Hard to tell from pics on the web. Please post your review once you have it paired up with a head! -

> cheapest premium shaft I likey those words!! :) Please provide a review when available. -
So this new shaft from Nippon uses full length 7 axis material and 80T sheet AND upper half of the shaft uses 90T sheet AND at the tip section it has Toray 1100G to help give it some kick! WOW!! Looks excellent on paper at least! :) What's more shocking is that the price point of these shafts are really consumer friendly! Other companies are charging more than double this. How do they do it? I definitely need to give this a whirl !! Would love to get any feedback if anyone has tried this already.

I actually did get the 3w foamed. I just really wanted heavier weight on that. Was not a problem with sound. But thanks to the foam, the 3w is also a bit quieter. Crazy FW50 Sigma is working great in that head! -

Compared to the 313 I think this head is quite a bit more forgiving. I would put it in the same league as Epon AF-153. Distance wise, I do feel 414 is hotter than the 313. Maybe it just feels hotter due to the 8-1-1 Ti they use on the face which is the same Ti used for Ping G25 or Titleist 915 drivers. I don't have numbers unfortunately. I will warn you that you should really think about foaming or hot melting it from a sound perspective. The raw sound to me was as loud as a Nike Sumo ( remember those ? ) The 313 sound was not bad at all. 414 is really loud without the foam. Feel at impact is softer than the 313 after I got the 414 foamed. I ordered a 10.5 loft at neutral setting and the ball flies more like a 9.5 with the AAA shaft. I normally play 9 or 9.5 deg with other drivers and this one does not go any higher.
