  1. Maaan! that is one good looking driver! I am really digging the current trend of forgiving 460cc JDM drivers which are more athlete oriented! I am going to be in deep trouble if I don't tighten my wallet! :)
  2. no free shipping for the Crazy.... too bad. :(
  3. Oh and DAT55 faced JDM heads have fantastic feel and distance performance to go with it... but sound can be a bit harsh. You can get these heads foamed to get rid of the harsh sound. That might be the ticket for you. Jbeam 535 Jbeam 435 ( Crazy 435 ) JBeam 425 Tour to name some with DAT55 face
  4. I am with you on the modern USDM with their harshness and lack of feel. Though I do think some of the heads make up for that with performance and added forgiveness. In my opinion, JDM drivers have also been pursuing higher performance the last couple of years and have made significant compromise in the feel and sound department. My favorites from a sound and feel perspective have been Endo made driver heads from around 2008 to 2013. They have that dense and mild feeling at impact where you feel the ball stick to the face just a tad longer. 5. I too am waiting on a build with the '15 AAA in 70 S. A bit worried that you mention that you have a quick transition. I am the complete opposite. I have a very slow take away with a slower transition. I am really hoping the AAA will work for me but I guess we'll see.
  6. Quick update on the OTI 95 Stiff I am trying in a 2007 TM TP Rescue 19 deg hybrid after a short range session today. - Feel is much smoother than the Diamana Thump Stiff I have in the Epon 902. - Launch is not as high as I thought. - Very anti left ( so far ) combined with this head and this coming from someone who has once given up with using hybrid all together due to the occasional hook shots with hybrids - Based on the flight of the ball I can tell it is lower spinning and it actually flies pretty straight. I am really liking this shaft!! Only if they had a heavier weight class, I might switch to these shafts in my irons.
  7. looks like the parent company is a metal parts fabrication company. I am a bit skeptcal based on their website. they mention 40, 50, 60 and 70 "kg" class on their product pages. do they actually mean "gram? " are they mainly a shaft painting company? charging an extra $40 for an optional "golf goddess decal" seems a bit much.
  8. too low for me now. used to be okay...:)
  9. I would love to try the 1 again but with heavier weight at 45" You could make one heck of a fairway finder! I'd even go 44" with 210g head weight.... Uh oh... experiment urge!! :)

Just any 902 or a specific loft?
  11. Has anyone tries these yet? Would love to get feedback on feel and forgiveness. Thanks!
  12. Lowered price for Masda head.
  13. I too just noticed that Modus came out with a wedge specific shaft. I wonder how they compare against the WV shafts. I am also using Shimada Tour Wedge Black shafts in a couple of my wedges. These are totally different in how they spin. I am getting good spin but because they seem to be higher launch, the ball does the "land and release" thing which might not be a bad thing for trying to hole out with a chip.
  14. Bumped into Mr. Weiskopf at the fish market .... here in Bozeman, MT. Got to chat a bit about the unusual warm weather we had a couple of weeks ago... He designed one of the local private golf courses here in town. ( http://www.blackbullbozeman.com/golf-community) He said he actually lives in Bigsky which is only about 45 minutes from Bozeman. That was neat!!
  15. I do feel wedge specific shafts that I have tried are spinnier than regular iron shafts. I try to match the weight of the wedge shafts to the iron set that I am using it with. Out of the different wedge shafts I tried, NS Pro WV series seem to give me the lower launch high spin combination. The nice thing is that they come in 3 different weights which makes it easy to match it to your iron sets.
  16. moving from another topic .. to this thread... Ed, I don't think it would be a problem ... but for my test case, the raw length of the shaft was actually perfect for my 3 hybrid ( .355 hosel ) so I did not bother tipping it or cutting at the butt. In other words the tip section of the raw length had enough wall thickness so sanding the tip down seemed fine. But I will let you know if I do run into issues with my hybrid. Also not note this shaft only comes in a single length. Standard recommendation is to tip it in 0.5" increments starting from the 4 iron as you go down to the shorter clubs. This shaft has 120mm ( 4.7" ) of parallel tip which means the same wall thickness would be available to cover a 3-PW set plus some room to spare. The common feedback among the testers in Japan are that the feel at impact improved drastically over the lightweight steel shafts they normally use ( NS 950GH and the like ) Testers with higher swing speed who normally use heavier steel shafts ( suspecting DG, Proj. X , KBS ) also mentioned that the stability and dispersion is better with the OTi and that the 95 Stiff did not feel too light for them. They all say the trajectory is high ( in a good way ) and test results show higher back spin but not a ballooning trajectory but starts with a higher launch angle and comes straight down and stoppable on the green. The pricing point on these is really reasonable as well for a graphite shaft. I feel these shafts are going to get really popular very quickly. Fuji MCI's did pretty well at introduction but the pricing was much higher on them.
  17. Gonna move my OTI feedback info to another thread since this is about Mjr D and what to do about his MP37. I'd say keep the heads and do a refinishing project, I think they would come come out really classy in either Copper or Dark Nickel finish.
  18. Got my two OTi 95 Stiff shafts on Wednesday. Instead of trying it in my AF902 ( AF902 Thump Combo is too good to change ) I decided to try in an older TM 2007 TP Rescue head. The TP Rescue actually had a .355 hosel so I had to sand down the tip to make it it. The thickness of the graphite at the tip is quite thick so I do not expect any problems sanding it down from .370 to .355. At the butt end where it is unpainted, you could see the braided graphite construction which was different from the graphite sheet weaving pattern I am accustomed to. ( Call me weird ... but I love looking at raw unpainted graphite weaves patterns!! ) I know that using this in a hybrid may not represent how the shaft might work with irons, Club is ready to be tested out ... unfortunately our weather in MT has gone back to the usual freezing temperatures. Won't be for another couple of weeks until I get back out again. I found a few Japanese reviews of this Oti shaft and they do seem to be really good. High launching, Steel like tight dispersion and control with graphite smoothness/vibration dampening properties. On paper, it sounds like the perfect graphite shaft. I guess we'll find out soon. Will keep you posted with my results.
  19. Fourteen's version of Yururi Fried Egg? Have you tried it in the sand yet? Is it as easy as they say?
  20. Droooooooooooolllllll....
  21. Crazy 435 pending payment.
  22. I'll be getting a couple of the new OT iron shafts in 95 Stiff in a few days. Since they are .370" tip I am gonna first try it in an AF-902 Hybrid to compare against the current Thump shaft. I'll let you know if the OT shafts are worth trying or not.
