  1. T could you post some side by side pics at address when you have time? the gfields are working for me and im just looking for an excuse to try something else
  2. my gft #2 is 18* and #3 is 20*. the fourteens look pretty. im wondering how they would compare to the gfields?
  3. well for me the longest combo i have owned is the nike sq1 tour and GD ad tour w60 shaft but i was not consistent enough with it. so now my current long gamer is a calllaway ercIII with Fuji speeder 559
  4. ray and bela many thanks for the info. my heads are polished chrome while the shafts are graphite. also the heads on mg801 are heavy. effective swingweight is almost a d2 inspite of the 60ish gram shafts. so the heads are weighted differently. replacing the shafts based on the info ray gave sounds like a big hassel and doesnt look like the factory intended it to be done. also by replacing the shaft you would effectively change the balance of the club, a club fitter could prob balance it but the swingweight would be to heavy for me. according to my clubfitter, if this is to be dont the option MUST come from the factory as the heads intended for steel are lighter than the ones inteded for graphite.
  5. jeff this is the best advice ive seen regarding to blade or not to blade! most justify getting blades so that it would develop their game. i admit i almost fell for it. but who am i fooling .....settled for the x's.
  6. thats what i know as well. if they did id be all over that instead of my armqb4
  7. i both have the tour concepts and the black gold. i very much prefer the black golds
  8. do you have the link? if that is the price for brand new clubs then that would be the greatest beres bargain ive seen EVER.
  9. type js are certainly the prettiest amonst the ones you mentioned. also seem like more and more are raving about it, not a true blade but you cannot go wrong with it.
  10. me and shepherd were able to test my mx23s with black golds yesterday in the range. man i dont know if it was the supers soft grain flow forged heads of the mizunos or the shafts or both but these easily felt much better than my epon x with TC r3 shafts. if i am not mistaken these are slightly lighter than the TCs but feel a world of difference. dint find them as taxing to use. shafts loaded up nicely, will test it out for 18 holes today and compare the trajectories with my Tcs. for now this combo just booted my eponx/tc out of the bag. for now at least. will have a review soon after
  11. thanks, the color combos look cooler too. il the red ones for my irons when my new grips get worn
  12. is this somewhat related to the epon irons you demo'd yesterday?
  13. im wondering if he can trick out other putters? i have a premium zone#1 that i would want tricked up. nice blinkers would make them perfect. maybe some tungsten inserts as well to my eldik
  14. how are these compared to the iomics?
  15. i hope thats not the case bec if so then i think i got the wrong flex hope not though.
  16. yes i agree. best to leave the premium shaft alone. i ahvent really tested on course yet but most of the shots i got were fairly straight and no distance lost. and thats with range balls. i will test it out on the course tom and form a more accurate opinion. so far my results are good i am just not used to the softness. im thinking if i will gain more distance if the shaft were stiffer just thinking:) exactly my point im used to something stiffer but then again my swingspeed is only 105-108mph and thats already going after it, less for my normal swing.
  17. i just got this and its only been hit 10 times, but so far im finding it soft. it could be the nature of the roddios to play a little soft, will continue to test. im starting to think that i should have gotten a S flex but then again most of my shafts are just R flex. do you think tip tripping to make shaft stiffer would be a complete waste of a perfectly good shaft?
  18. i have your reviews on the black gold + wedge combo memorized. i have an extra piece of black golds that i am planning to put on my mx25 sw but will likely not as i hardly ever use stock wedges of my irons. will get the BGS when i get 52/56 epon x wedges in the distant future
  19. so i finally get my epon 460 10.5 w roddio w6ba sr, the cpm came out to around 240. hit a couple of balls of the range and my initial impression is that the shaft loads up perfectly BUT it seems soft compared to my other regular flexed shafts. i know that they tend to play a bit soft but dint think theyd feel this soft. are they suppose to be this way? i obviously need to spend more time with the club and get accustomed to the shaft. wanted to know your opinions. my current gamers are speeder 559 r flex but cpms at close to 250 which almost feels stiff compared to the roddios. am i missing something here? thanks in advance
  20. i chose the tc r3 for my epon x as oppossed to the nspro 1150. for me i like the additional weight of the tc but find it a bit taxing to use as i am not accustomed to something this hefty. previous experiences were all with graphs and rifle 90 shafts. overall i love the tc and they look trick to. i noticed that my ball flight has a more piercing trajectory compared to my other shafts and distance gained is about 5-7 yards over previous ones. i am yet to try the 1150s and i will most likely try some in the next few months. been also curious about the black golds and have newly installed ones in my old mx23. will go to test in range later and see what all the hype is about
  21. well the shafts i got were a bit short and had them installed today. effective swingweight was around c9, i added about 1/2" of extender to get to my preffered length. i had about 8 shafts and used the longest shaft for the 4 iron onwards-pw. with the extender the new sw is now d2, just the way i like it and exactly same sw as my beres mg801 and epon x with TC r3. will have reviews for this soon.
  22. yes i bought it as a pull. looks like the original owner trimmed the butt, but by how much i dont know. will most likely attempt to put this in my epon 3 wood. this means i would have to add 3.25". seems like much but no harm in trying
  23. i know. unless i use it in one of my gfield hybrids:) hate putting a good shaft to waste. here are the specs of my shaft Fujikura Speeder Tour Spec 652 Regular Flex Fairway Wood Shaft - 39.25" .335 Tip - 3.7 Tq - High Launch - 65g - Mid Kick
  24. thanks. i have a 39.25" speeder hybrid shaft that i want lengthened to fit a 3 wood head. will this work? how much do i have to add?
