  1. Best JDM Driver in 2008. Epon AF101: Vector says Fastest ball speed w/the same clubhead speed than all my other drivers. Cosmetically the driver is just gorgeous. Just fantastic workability, and sound at impact when Pured is simply put... "Heavenly". As far as feel goes, if you've hit an epon driver you know its a unique feel off the face you get.... soft yet solid... like a spring catapulting the ball w/a piercing trajectory. For me... no other brand driver has compared to this one. Best JDM Iron of 2008. Epon AF 301's. Another vote in for these irons. I purchased them, and played them all last season. Like I previously mentioned in my driver blog, IMO no other brand can compare to the ENDO product. Even though the 301s are not an original design; I understand they are the type Js, to me they look, perform and feel as expected... a standard like no other... which you'll find when you play clubs w/the epon name branded on it. CB:AF701 Blade: Epon Blades Best JDM Wedge of 2008. Epon 208KGX. I placed my review on this wedge in the wedge review forum. I actually bought 3 sets. Best JDM Shaft of 2008. Tour AD MD series. I purchased this shaft and have it mated w/my AF101. Godly results. Normally I'm a Rombax person, but results on vector don't lie. MD7 outperformed all my other favs. "SHWIIIIING" Best Course you played on in 2008 Pali GC:was the Worst Muni on the island. They just placed new greens on old weathered course and what was the local course I grew up playing on now didn't look so shabby... at 6 bucks for twilight... its a cheap mans course. I took for Pali for granted for the past few years..... W/the new greens there, it feels just like ol' times... Nostalgic glimps of past memories that brought me back week in and week out.... Its not a resort... its not famous... but I'm sure you all can relate to/your local Muni. Best shot you made in 2008. Koolauu last par 3 before heading to the clubhouse. 203 to the hole middle location. I hit a perfect 5 iron, that landed 3 feet from the hole... Only to have my ball taken from the twosome that we let play through. (our foursome hit our shots and then we let the twosome hit theirs. my partner had to take a drop, as he did of course I waited for him. The other party twosome finished, what we all thought was thier shots and continued to the next hole. Well when I walked to the green I found my ball gone and nothing to finish the hole with we caught up w/the guys on the next tee and sure enough he had my ball =)) Best Pro player in 2008. Kenny Perry. I loved every min of his golf. And if you guys would have asked for the best JDM Putter Custom Golds #2, need say more?

Welcome to the Forum! Thanks for sharing Nike ignites are good, I think shingo used to use them.
  3. I will be definitely be buying the Epon blades w/kbtour .... They are to beautiful to resist. I cut the last post and will be posting it in the shaft review section.
  4. Gotta love EPON! The irons alone, even though they are not as nice as the blades, they still stand out... The wedges are also very attractive.
  5. One look at that GF stealth putter and I'm converted to the blink blink.
  6. MSG GOODSIE, he'll take care of your clubs.... my driver and irons are totally different animals since G has worked on it. Launch sessions shows it. Especially the driver. o_O
  7. I did, after 3 rounds I put my 1150s back in the 301 heads. However I got my project xs from japan they were satin, not the new chrome ones. 1150s felt just perfect in the 301s. The project xs just didn't have the the flight and landing I wanted, plus the 1150s were softer allowed me to load them more. off the subject-I am seriously debating picking up another set of KBtours from Goodsie and trying them out on my 301s. The R7s are fantastic w/kbtours and so are my wedges. Total confidence in those shafts. Back on the sub. IMO the 1150s felt better for me, gets my ball mid traj fast and pierces through the wind w/out alot of roll on landing. PX is good in blades, my 695mbs rock w/them.
  8. I too love this shaft. The feel and launch I get is just perfect, tons of spin but I can control it, and roll the ball. Finding a third party shaft like this is also a request of mine.

I'm very happy to hear this option is now available.
  10. Cheers!! Thanks Jack, I would have never thought about this.... Very Interesting. Great feedback on the driver.

Interesting... Thanks JP, I understand now.

So does this officially mean that they are not Taylormade R7 Forged irons?
  13. I second Idrive's thanks. Brett has helped me w/my wind game/swing. Some odd number of months ago I asked Brett for help on hitting it lower in the wind. After 3 months of practicing the wind swing/punch shot, I had a much better idea of how to punch the ball or move it under the wind. Further I have introduced my Father to the instruction video site of this forum and he has been spotted by everyone practicing ghost swings all over the house lol.... Solid easy tips that anyone can relate to. Most importantly, the tips actually work if you practice it. Thanks for the Wind Video B!

Don't know if you guys noticed, but I did; today's 3rd round, they shot a closeup on his 5 iron shot into one of the par3s, and it is indeed the R7 Forged japan set. Also in practice range showed him using 2 drivers the R7 limited and the superquad. Cool!!
  15. If I were your friend, Id replace the driver since I broke it.

Hi Congrats on picking up a great club!! I play mine at 45" rombax x series. But I think if you are going to play the stock shaft, it should be at least tried out at 46". I had the same concern when buying mine. Advice from all the members were the same: try out the stock length and if you don't like it cut it. I was very surprised at how well I could manage the club at stock length. I'm 5'6 and at 46" I was bombing it way past my average drive distance. I then opted to go to the rombax 6x07 at 45", but the stock shaft provided a much more ballistic performance w/slightly higher ball speed and avg 3-5 yards more roll then the rombax, even though I could not swing the stock shaft as hard due to going left. Rombax shaft does bring the flight down for me which is what I wanted for the winds here in hawaii. Next season I'm plan on placing back the stock shaft on the EMB at 46" again and trying it out.
  17. Interesting, I did not know this. I thought all NS shafts come from Japan and were pretty uniform re: stiffness.
  18. Hey randy hows that GR driver going so far?

Had a friend vid me swinging the EMB pink rombax 6x07. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-h6geRPSkQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5WM060LEh8 I think the sound is much more solid than hitting the SUMO square driver. Friends that I golf w/say its so intimidating they don't want to hit after me. If your not much of a loud driver kinda guy.... Just try to look past the sound and you'll be amazed at how straight this thing goes. Nothing but long straight bombs. To all who have never heard an EMB here it is. The rombax feels solid, but I think the EMB stock shaft is also very good. I still preserved it... @ 46 inches I was surprised how well I could manage the length. Some of my longest drives were w/the stock shaft,... just way left.... But I'm a smooth swinger so I managed pretty well... I'll prolly go back to the stock shaft for fun.
  22. Thanks for the reply, I gotta work on that start lower, go flatter and finish lower. Also, the lowest lofted iron in my bag is the 5 iron at 26*. However, I believe the stinger can be played w/all lofts and all clubs. I've seen dudes at the local range punch their 7 wood at 23* and still keep it below 20 ft. Many give me the same advise, but for me I have a hard time w/this one. Making the change for the shot, and physically executing it is tough.
  23. I can never really get the hang of the "stinger shot" I know it doesn't seem like it... but I am actually trying to hit it lower w/this swing. I usually sky all my shots including the longer clubs. Been trying to deloft my left hand more on impact... but no luck. Gotta practice more... Any pointers on hitting it lower?? I could use um... here is my 5 wood vid... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buKGQ_qc8cw
  24. I second that! I'm very interested in the CB, can't wait!
