New Graphite Iron Shafts
What else have you played/tried in graphite irons? I am using the Crazys in an X flex in my primary set and have a bag with the Fuji Rombax 115i... Think the Crazy's might be a hair to stiff, based on lack of stopping power in the short irons but they are a wonderful shaft... Considering buying another shaft and soft stepping them to see if I can balance it alternately am contemplating the ONOFF forged irons with a new shaft... Hence the question...

BEST JDM HYBRID 21º ?
Having hit the 17* TRC and the 21* & 24* ONOFF ProSpec, I prefer the feeling of the ONOFF. It is much more solid feeling with the look of a compact wood. The RC head has a more "hollow" sound and feel very much in line with their FWs...

5 iron vs 27*+ Ute
Given recent success using the ONOFF ProSpec(21* and 24*) and RC TRC(17*) utility clubs replace the 4 iron to 3w I have started to consider dropping the 5 iron too and opting for a 27* or higher utility as well. Am I crazy? Thanks for your thoughts, RIDuffer

royal collection driving spoon
You might try the DS with the FW Sigma 50 Noir... Absolute dream of a combo. I have the FW80 in a 3 wood and like it quite a bit, but think I can go harder when I need to with the Sigma 50. Great combo and is currently in direct competition with the Yonex 380/P9003 combo. Actually I think it is winning the competition as I prefer the smaller head set up and the D/S is about as small as you can get these days.

GRIPS
Have been a big fan of the GripMaster leather for sometime now. I have tried many GP and Lamkin and always ended up back with GripMaster. However, I have never really tried any Iomic or Nowon. How durable are they? The leather grips just last, on a set of Muras with almost daily play for 3 years they are still in amazing shape, so am hesitant to start playing something else if it won't last through a couple of seasons, at least...

3WAY 18* hybrid testing EPON, ADAMS, WISHON
Can't talk the Ute shaft stiffness, but my experience is as follows with each being rated at 8.2 on the Crazy scale FW 50 Sigma is the stoutest of the ones I play and seems similar to the P9003x in overall stiffness. I do not always need to go after the ball to get it square, but I cannot let off too much without watching the ball fade unexpectedly... FW 80 Black is a sweet swinger and I do not worry about letting off or going at it. This has a higher ball flight the 50 Sigma in my opinion, but that might be because of the flex.

recycling old models as a test..
I agree, recently swapped out the vacation bag and hit a bucket with a very old set of TM X300-FCI that were Miura forged(I believe). They were like butter. I haven't hit a cavity back club in a cpl of years and not on a regular basis in over a decade. But they were a great feeling head. But alas they are going to get de-shafted and become part of a collection... Want to try and stick with conforming clubs from here on out...

You gonna buy another P9003x? I think you should go all out with the Ryoma and put a Crazy FW shaft in....

3WAY 18* hybrid testing EPON, ADAMS, WISHON
Based on that it would seem you rate the RC over the Epon, making my decision even easier... Guess I'll have to wait for a different club to try my first Epon....

Great review Spoon.... I understand that you did not do the side by side, but where would you place the RC TRC in the rankings, based on what you remember?

Epon technity 380cc experiment. Reviving old classic
I would agree with this sentiment. I would add though they need to be low spin heads as the shaft can balloon if not properly matched. I have used a few Crazy shafts, but none of their driver shafts as of yet so cannot say for sure if the GD would outperform the Crazy... Spoon, Might be time for you to try out a Crazy. Let me know how it goes cause then I might follow suit...

Playing the vacation bag...
Yes it is the P that I got from you. I am intending on leaving it in the Miura. I travel out there 6 or 7 times a year and I know I will play each time I go so it is easier to leave them in CA than to check them on the airplane. Next on the agenda is a new putter, already being made, conforming wedges and a 17* or 18* hybrid. Found a guy that does custom grinds and weighting on JDM blanks here in the states and am thinking about going that route for the wedges. On the hybrid, still in a quandary between the Epon and the TRC. Also still toying with the idea of getting the RC blades or something from a 2012 lineup, alternately re-shafting the Blade Golf irons that I already have as a local back-up set

Playing the vacation bag...
Finished up playing the vacation bag the other day and finally had a chance to sit down and put some thoughts into the Miura PE with the P9003x shaft. Had the club built to play 44.5" so in that regard it play play a little bit more as a control driver than on for flat out distance. Have to say it worked. On normal drives, I was putting the ball about 265-275 yds predominantly carry. There was some rollout but it was minimal, especially when compared to the 9* 380cc Yonex. The flight as you can guess was high-mid and very stable. Other than the distance loss I felt I could pick up my tee and know it was down the throat of the fairway. Very reassuring. The set up of the Miura head is a very classic one. Nothing extraneous on the thing at all, not even a center dot. At one point during the first round out, the two gentleman I had gotten paired up with had already hit their drives and I was waiting for a person in the group in front of us to hit their third shot. One of them commented to me unless you are going to put that 300 yds+ you might as well hit. I responded, if all goes well they are in my wheel house. Definitely glad I waited, 325 yds later... As we approached my ball I said, It feels good to stand up and deliver a bomb right after you've been talking smack about how far you can hit... Overall the P9003x was a performer of a shaft in the Miura head and the Miura head although not a technological tour de force can deliver consistently pleasing drives. I doubt I will ever launch one over 300 again as the wind was in my favor and I hit it on the screws, but I can take the combo to almost any course and be comfortable with the distance I will get out of it. Not sure why in the 11.5* RC I had so many issues with ballooning when in both the Yonex 380cc and the Miura I had nothing but stable ball flights. Maybe it was just a little too much loft on the head, but a world of difference between them.
