Whats your favourite JDM club ........?
ULTILITY/driving iron. The ute the leaps of the page to me is the modart 19*. ive tried plenty of utes with so little success igave up,this one is a combo of the head and crazy ut shaft that i simply love , the feel is outrageous, like all modart clubs to me modart are the new school epon of JDM.ive not hit one i ditn simply love, but that does not mean its my best ! ohno my best ute is the saqra18* fairway finder ,this think i just hit well but do not love it , i play it in comp bec score matters ,the modart issimply addictve to hit but i miss wayyyyyyyyyyy to many times with it to play in comps, ihook the blazes out of it on occasioans , somethingi dont do with the saqra but for any social game esp on dry grass this is a no brainer when a shoe wedge is available as a15thclub! Driving irons is simple , the honma twu. Ive Played so many driving irons, srixon was in play for ever, saqra is abeauty, but they all fall away to the honma and its the 4or21*that wins it , its not long enough to get close to par 5s its too short to hit from a tee as adrive alt it balloons but as arescue club or as an alt for a 3irons its unbeatable Round the course, .i prob shud play the3i but for where i am and play these dyas the4is the best fit, i have the2as alinks alternate ,that thing is one of the first clubs in the bag on holiday island golf but its both too long and too short for club golf and i find a5wood abetter option or the4di better, unless iwant a tee alternate then the2is the club. honourable mentions. srixonz-uti saqra21* prgr speed iron 22* icant count touR edge exotics ute bec its non jdm but the16* il put that vs anytimg out there, acpl l of diferent older royal collection models were good as well. the epon ute has to be there but like the modart i kept pulling the thing over left field like Jason Giambi getting an inside high fastball on a 3/2 count with none out.its only ever going one way .

Head size.....it matters.
huge/big/medium/smaller/compact /tiny From the last 2games iron.results and preferences i had to have a peek at just much bigger head sizes actually were. and my god.theres a huuuuuuuge difference. my go tos over the last 2seaons ahve been masda mb(3rd.from right) honma tw(2nd from right) tourstage maru, miurism sb,.. i e hardly ventured anywhere else with some good results orre.oft than not., so i thought id line em up and seefrom the left. onoff miura cb1003 prgr idbl masda mb honma tw a grind r1 and the spiits onoff/idbl/r1 onoff/r1 i kinda think ur best off sticking to a size that isnt far offits very hard to go ffro. tine to mid and impossible to go further afield. think ill stick to tje rigjt side of the spectrum for a.while longer..i just cant go left of mid any more.

2020 under way at last!
supo replied to supo's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearBack out agn on course with pretty sever restrictions. no rakes, change rooms closed,no restarurant,no caddies, no players! 6groups out, was heaven. took some oldies but goodies out. epon 101 drivers, labospec tataki75xs and diamana stinger both 9.5* syardxv15* diamana aliislei 73s prgr idbl prgr tr quad forged endo japan beauties form 2004 anyone with a spare epon head thinking of a shaft to match it with... labo is spectacular..spectacular!!!!! used for 9holes multiple drives each. cant bel im saying thus but i prefered the labo!!! lower straighter flight path which i prefer to see. syard was easy to hit it laucnhes high and loads of carry ,canmove it both ways and a draw gets some cheat yards chasing the longers par5s. idbl irons....ns2g18s shafts. Forgot how nice these are to hit but took me a while to get re aquanted to the size of them they are not buter soft they have some crispness to them but dead centre u cant feel a thing. Ive been using mb only for2 seasons now so everything not mb looks huge in comparison, these looked big to my eye. Which is weird bec they most assureadly are not! zero offset to speak of,flat sole to the ground and a rounded sqaure high toe that gives just a hint of workability, the shots i messed up were the ones i was trying to shape a lot like a MB but cudnt get them to do it as much. when i went tiny block fade tiny baby draw they were sensational and point shoot and use the trajectory as the working these were awsome. Wedges were so nice ,not played these in5yrs, NS st X in then so a bit light and flighty for my taste, but they grip and sing like the best , these were the pinacle of wedges way back when quad forged by endo japan nit many can say that, nice look plainjnae style great feel off the face slightly, workble and versatlie but like the irons better suited for flight control. funny thing im not sure i can go back to non mbs any more the heads just look BIG. good day tho 38/41 nothing great , except for the drivers i killed it with them great to be back out again hitting some balls. that epon labo is akeeper!

No More Yoro's
mic...not for long, one suspects.

Heavy shafts for short drivers
ahhhhhhhh.., I keep on saying it till im blue in the face...... bimatrix 100x @ 44 inch u wont miss a fariway if u aim straight.. wont break any long drive records but you will be surprised where the ball ends up most drives , it aint that far away mine is witht a 2009 taylor made tp 09 and its really good for accuracy. they are SO cheap as well

Recommend some wedges
Darren ,, the s yard bolds are as close to these as there are, REDICULOULSY similar .. without the crazy spin the yams get bec they are conforming, if u like the shape of the yams then the bolds will be as close as you can see. I do agree the yams are in my top 2 or three.. I think about it and the fourteen protos, these yams and the tourstage x wedge are PROBABLY my faves depending on conditions.

Whats your favourite JDM club ........?
FAIRWAY WOODS: ok this is hard.. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many of these have passed my bags but i can prob limit them to a fews and come up with a winner, and it wont be a set itll be a 13* 15* and 18 /19 ish ... ok heres the list; low loft ; buchi 12* fairwary driver kasco 12.8* fairway driver royal collection TRC 13* fd. prgr egg spoon 13* ryoma d1 13* science gear proto 13* fd. All of these have earned their stripes and more over the years but its a split between the buchi and kasco for top spot as both these are still running amok in my bags. proof for me of a heads quality is the shaft I put in them and both of the above have stingers and diamana X shafts in them, those shafts don't go into POS TM, or the like, spam distance wise these are identical I hit them side by side one match in Okinawa a cpl of yrs ago, 10 balls each , ( toursstage x01z white for the kasco and yellow for the buchi ) to a 300 yard dead flat dead straight fariway and there was no difference. the furthest of each were a meter apart. the dispersion of both were inseperable. they are TOTALLY opposite shapes one is a rectangle box and the other is a semi rounded oval. feel is opposite as well ,a high pitch ting , low low deep oomph. but performance was amazingly similar. in the end IF there cud be only one and heaven help me if that day arrives... it wud be the...............oh god imstruggling here...ok PROB the kasco ONLY beceasue its more of a driver alt. off the tees with this it can be used TO MY EYE as a batter driver but the buchi is the better off the deck. 14/15/16* 3 woods: royal collection bbd type s tour 14* OR 15* Yamaha inpress x iff tour 14* s-yard 15* modart 14* prgr egg spoon 15* prgr MFD 16.5* callaway erc fusion carbon 15* toue edge exotics maraging face 15* ryoma d1 15* gawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd where to start here. from a tee the callaway ERC and Tour edge exotics are the top dogs just over the syard and Yamaha tour. from the fairway the 15* egg spoon sows that up JUST over the ryoma d1 and modart as a one horse fairway wood the prgr MFD 16.5 in a canter. and as an allrounder the royal collection bbd 15* again its only one and its gotta be ( considering ive got the kasaco as a driver alt) id need a better wood from a fairway.................................... phoooooar...the prgr egg 158 spoon , the original and best. JUST pips the ryoma fromn the turf IMO. now 5 wood 17/18/19 * therres only 3 that need considering here and I came them all without prejudice. prgr egg 18* prgr tour 18* royal collection bbd type h 17* I cant split these theres no way so as I have to itll be the one that I like to look at th most and that the royal collection bbd. That was harder tha nall the others. so 12.8* kasco fd 15* prgr egg spoon 17*royal collection bbd type h yep happy with that set up ad infinitum as my favourites fariway wood selection but that was TUFf!!!!!!

Recommend some wedges
I like those I have a lot of sets of aged prgr wedges back to the early 2000s, prgr as as rule suit my eye.feel is terrific, they are never too big or too small... the nablas are thick chunky and compact. black plating that wears prett ywell. my gamer set is still as good as u cud get. they are EXTREMELY workable as the bottom line is very thin and the top line very thick they are NOT great from close quarters from inside 50m to 10m I thiny the SW falls away so u will need a lob wedge of some description or flared flat low bounce sole with them. the best match for the shape is the toursatge x wedge from 2015 ish. closest pear shape to the nablas.. they are especially good for mthich rougt due t othe fatness of them they punch the ball out with ease and are super on firm hard pan, I use these a ton on links where the idn dries out the ground.. but when ur inside 50 and the close u get to the green the SW fails more until ur right on the green edge and u need to pitch, the sw becomes the ebst there si again. over all if u like a small, extremely workable wedge , these are fabulous

What is it about Shape? Some pretty good 7-irons
wowsah great arrangement here. the r9s tps are the ONLY set of TM irons that these hands will and have ever touched superb feel on these , great look at address too. tr50o and idbl still in my rotation and prob will be forever., those buchi are close with the epon aftoiurs as the best feel of any iron ive hit, they are so much like miura at impact its scary love to fid out where they are made., very playeresque look, no idea why I moved my set on.... not hit the CB 7s only the mbs, and loved those as well, veryvery scimatarlike. precision tools. super set up!!

Whats your favourite JDM club ........?
Not the best, your favourite... DRIVER: epon 101 9.5* Love how this looks, its a rounded midlarge head in black , no fancy cuts or grooves out of it near the face to promote "trampoline effect " or what ever those cos. say it does.............. apart from the slightly gaudy gold rim on he sole, which I like to blacken out its a pretty ordinary, nondescript head. face is slightly more oblate than many others at address , feel is sensational.... the sound with any shaft is sensational, its extremely workable, more so than any other epon driver ive tried and distance is fine, ive never broken a PB distance wise with it and prob never will but it certainly isn't brining up the rear. I get this out there plenty well enough to use in any game involving money, and will do on courses where a short cut big draw or cut over trees brings huge reward, especially in Nassau games of old! Ive 2 of these still one with a diamana stinger and one with a roddio labospec tataki. the stinger is the one I t ake out the most as it gets me the most variety, the labo is a straight shooting higher kick point shoot shaft . its errrily straight and truth be told prob feels better of the two nd is tighter at impact. prob bec its higher kick. I prefer the diamana tho bec its so versatile. the runners up were the so so similar callaway ERC3, ryoma d1 and jbeam 435.

Anybody Purchase MG TB•Zero Yet?
8-9-pw same face progression @ 5 hmm interesting........ might be a new thing for them FINALLY getting rid of that f horrirble squared off angulated gooseneck in the scoring irons. ESPECIALLY the pw. they do look sensational in pics for sure but id have to see the head in hand to make a decision , just cant go back to MIURA anymore , that neck line just irks the bejesssssssus outtta me. ANY miura PW is right up there with the awfulest iron in golf as equally as the 2..... especially the 2 and 3-4-5 are the most beautiful.

Matching wedges to irons.
the prgr LED are the ones slotted for them but the LED have pretty thin sole and topline so I sort of meander past those and go for a bit more robustness, ill use the LEDS when im first starting back out in spring as they are just so easy to hit but they do have a fair amount of clipability and they are (TO ME) a "medium playable" wedge, they are not super aggressive nor game improvement. they are a bit of a mix of both They are a good all rounder that suits a fairly wide array or irons, and not overly workable, I prefer a lot of versatility over point shoot. To me, the best match for the IDBL I think are something like the Yamaha raw , the syard bold, prgr nabla rs, or fourteen mt 28 proto, toursatge x wedge black. depending on grass conditions , if its tight and dry ill plumb for the fourteens or tourstage black, if its wet ill go the bolds and if its normal ill prob use the yammies or nablas,, those nablas have shot WAY up my prefrered wedge list recently. .

Matching wedges to irons.
heres the difference in wedgs shapes ive been tinkering with with to no avail with the epons, the difference is clearly visible. the tourstage is a scalpel , the epon is sponge cake with ice cream in comparison although it does have a sharp leading edge. both are fails with these heads. the toustage are for my TS marus , honma tw or the like. this is the shape I have been hitting for a while now and am very confidend with it. I like to try and zip the ball , esp right to left with the wedges if I do that with the epon it goes off the green farfarfar too much air movement right to left but its hard to cut it. the tourstage I can do anything with it , albeit it not as consistenrtly as id like . spin is very very good with the TS . tour stage x wedge/ epon xl45 chugocraft/epon xl45 pretty big differences , no ?

Top 3 putters
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I agree with keep for longer! ive got a few ive sold , re bought , rejigged re sold and re bought again, the classic example is the 2 ball odyssey , I think ive had about 5 of these and the best one of them I think , is the black one I ve still got that top 3 good heavens ill try , this is much tougher than the drivers................................, Tying to take a top three from these isn't possible sorry, bec to understand fave, does that mean "top " = best looks ,best feel , best performance. best for specific greens..????? even tiger abandoned his SC to go to the NIKE (dump) truck but failed miserably so top .. is so relative. ok to make it easier for me to categorize id have to break it into head shapes . I play every shape imaginable and ive realsied after 35+ yrs of golf I don't have a fav shape. ás can prob be seen by these. TOP L shapes ; yamada razor, kitada custom TOP c shape mallets: benock Enzo, miura TOP ansers: Hiro Matsumoto mz07, gold factory gss 360 custom ,seven 01, TOP centre shaft: ks sugi 163m, TOP freakazoids: axis eagle,2 ball odyssey, 1986 mcgreggr golden bear, ping cushin, TOP feel: seven, golds gss, yamada burning copper GF custom The single best putting iv ever done is with the axis eagle at NSW on the coast in Sydney on a rather 'blustery" Thursday compey with a few more than decent players.. I beat the Longy penants a grade player with some outrageous bombs and didn't miss a 6 footer for 18 holes. I wont ever out do that day. not possible. the next best was 2 yrs ago with the ks sugi CS mallet where I went 68 in a comp and won it or the monthly medal I came second in with the 1986 mcgreggor! the rest pretty much fail in comparrison but that does not mean I play the ones ive done best with historically , in fact ive benched them, the more recent great events have been with the benock easpade which I have a recent tendency to reach for when im actually plaing 'golf"not some other game and where scoring properly is a "thing' , this is getting me so consistantly close , I just automatically reach for it now . my actual faves tho are the mini blades and c-shape mallets, the yamada razor, the kitada custom or the benock Enzo or miura c..... these are the one I love to take on hols and just play all day with practicing with on course. the ansers I tend to go back to just beceaure they are there but I don't really like them they are plain Jane shape to me, the long neck HM 1999 or semi LN mz 07 I LOVE playing and have a special spot in my rotation. ok if I had to keep just 3 and tin the rest as of now... id keep the yamada L.. the benock Enzo. hiro mats mz-07 but id have to be on a rack and stretched to within a mm of being torn apart. caveat.... im a planning to get another easpade made by benock with the small s neck "soon' which I hope will cure all ills!

Top 3 drivers
nope the ref is the v2 from me, ( the one I put up above ) or the v3 which is on the first page, this one , cud be the first model but ive not hit that. don't look a bad design tho. Chris I don't think it wud hurt, I think they go more than well and feel pretty decent. have 2 of them and they are both near the forefront of my faves. as I said the v2 is tough to beat distance wise, the v3 is quite versatile. always better to have too many more than not enough

Matching wedges to irons.
it was called chujocraft, ithink its been renamed tho. they have a very sharp leading edge , no offset and a big face . pretty nice in hand
