Finally got a cpl of rounds in at an old fave course, I played the back tees in what cud be called just short of a bloody cyclone the second round ! The old wind was hurtling of Fuji like that cartoon Tasmanian devil, I was hitting driver 3 iron or 4iron into 1/3 of the par 4s, let alone the par 5s, they were driver 14* 3w full 52*/pw wedge! tough days out to start, and here I was thinking a driver 9i/wedge wud be a nice way to start , ha !!!! Needless to say...................., I didn't score overly well, (78/82) even tho I hit 12 and 13 of 14 fairways over the two days and crushed the irons , ill take both scores to open up , esp on the second day when it was crazy windy , ie ball blowing off the tee kinda blowy and day 2 i opened up with an 8 and finished with a 6!, that 81 will be in my , " ill remember that day" list, seriously I cant think of a better ball striking day in recent memory , EPON af tours to the rescue!!!! My distance wasn't bad off the tee, not great but totally acceptable first days back and accuracy was excellent, putting was pretty good too , only 2 birds over the weekend both on day 2 to go with that quad and triple to totally ruin the score. The ballstriking ,ill put it down to the fact my back has ben rested for 3-4 months nad im not hip sliding anymore , ive basically not picked up a club really since novemeber so it felt brand new ive only had a cpl of quick range sessions over winter but really nothing substantial this was my biggest take way, NO residual discomfort or tightness what so ever in my lower back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A fact of life id been playing with for a such long, lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time id accepted it as normal, and normal it most certainly isn't!!!!!! Long may this feeling remain and my post games recovery has been very good too. Got the bug back finally!!! btw............................ the modart 14* 3w and crazy la bomba white stiff combo has completely and utterly altered my perception of how good a combo they are. whn u don't hit balls fro a while and u go straight into the top shelf ur eyes pop! going to be hard to get that out of the bag this season IF there is a rest of the season !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok., so they don't feel totally dead like the aerotechs ? I love how aerotechs perform, but they totally kill any feel of beautiful soft forged heads. I may as well have been playing 10$ glorybin irons! ok ill give em a go, cheers

nope... these are one offs for people , chances are no ones even seen one, I had to check the look of it. can help with a cpl of things tho.. faces are all different. the one fce I have and I REALLY like is the DLC face. that is very hard and so quick to send the ball rolling. super face.

DISASTEROUS news..... maybe its been reported already ??? they no longer take "other "clubs for regeneration as of last year. waiting to see if they will re do my golds gss which needs some livening up ,, well it doesn't really the face is perfect but the top line cud use some sprucing up , its a gamer .. even one of my non golds but they refurbed it 6 yrs ago isn't able to be redone. gutted....... ahhhhhhh this is a disaster of biblical proportions for moi.

hmmm.. im kinda in between , I much prefer slightly heavier iron shafts like the NS 125s or 130s, bee nusinbg the 105s and I don't suit them I feel lik I have to swing out of my shoes.. with the heavier I just use tempo to go thru the ball better without "hitting at " the ball m , ive been using lighter stiffer driver shafts recently at 45inch inch max, like 65 x diamana X 67sx and heavy fairway wood shafts , really loving the ali islei diamana 73 and 83 s shafts. sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo smooth!!!!! wedges I like 115 NSw over the 125s,, I cant get distance , its so weird. my 52* cap is maxed out at 105 yards.. for the life of me I cant hit that further.. and in my 60* lw, I uses 950s NS so I can get super flippy with it I want all fingers and hands in the LW. im going to make 1 change to the driver this season, a 10.5* jbeam j3 tour will be the addition to start out with the diamana stinger with the idea to move the 7 dreamers into it. that is 67 g at 45 inch and its soooooooooooooooooooo ridiculously straight.

good grief! just finding 'a" 1 iron is almost impossible. let alone a specific one. I have mine,, its a ping eye 2 1 iron , safely in play back on links in heady wind. ns 950 in it for a bit of ease ,bec its not the most confidence inspiring flat face to look at on occasions. I have this and a miura 2 iron that is SO ridiculously small. that 2 iron when flushed is the purest feel in all of golf, period.

these are a great set of sticks... so soft , closest to epon ive hit. nice square look to them with pretty minimla offset to upset the eye wedges are superb, micro milled, flared sole , you can get very funky with these.

I used to speak to them regularly about coming out with player designs,, Mika ( ithink it was ) used to listen and pass on ideas but the others cudnt give a rats, then they re did the old model names with new a semi twist on the old and added more offset!??!?!?!?!??!?!!??!?? puke.. I gave up totally on them so sad. luckily I still have my af tours and they will most prob stay with me for life.
