  1. Had a good chat with the owner of Waoow drivers on sat at the range , he had a stall up and said come have a hit so I did, had a variety of drivers ,shaft, specs so I tried them out. head shape at address Is VERY reminiscent of the PRGR rs range. face shape is deep and triangular with a compact look for its size, shafts something called ARCH , never heard of them but they are designed to do the big high launch thing and fall over like an,,,,,,,,,,,,,,arch! FOR THE LIFE OF ME I AGREE with that, they laucnehd very high and did what they said. feel was tops , like MODART.. muted and sweet. soft sound, soft feel, I liked it , very much the opposite of my set ups. I took my dirver I had in my bag and showed him the difference in flight, he said ,ahh u msut be English or Aussie , no one would play that flight here.. hahahhahaha. iagreed! Then I ahd a peek in HIS bag.... ohhh yea! the irons I found were something I FINALLY decided I cud buy and kick some others out. they are custom grinds. called AXIS, I know the wedges but t hey are super exxy and I just cant spend t ha much on wedges so I let them pass in the past. buti had a hit with his irons,, Z2 mbi precision CNC forged of s20c steel. DG tour issue x100 in them and they didn't miss a beat, PW is fantastic to look at at address, no offset, thick sole, thic muscle and semi thick top line with a comapact size. LOVED THE LOOK. hit a feew 7 irons and just said yup can add these to the masda, epon honma tourstage stable with ease. solid impact,, super solid impact. will consider these with great interest as the season this year kicks off. 3 thumbs up!.
  2. I don't think were going to get a foolproof answer on this but for me its pretty clear what is and isn't. if it feels like it is, it is, that thought prob differs to a lot of others thoughts (vg3 for example are not imo JDM what so ever nor are the clubs used by ishikaka by callaway ) basically anything from a big USA OEM is not for me , its as simple as that, . take the big Japanese OEMS, Srixon,Bridgestone,Honma, mizuno,, Yamaha, prgr even tho they make a ton for the US now they are JDM bec. they " feel like they are" even tho bridgestone predominatly making for the US now, as tourstage has fallen thru (sob sob sob sob)...... the name " bridgestone is reversal in translation of the Co. originator name " ishibashi" which translated means stone bridge and so, he called his co bridgetstone . there is NO way that will ever be anything other than JDM. kyoei, epon, masda, fujikura, benock, golds,Hiro Matsumoto yup all jdm . miura giken yes, MIURA hedge funs owned USA , DEF NO. scratch NO. putters: bettinardi make a JDM line but wud anyone consider that JDM, ? not me, absolutely zero % . trying to get a definition out of this ? ok heres my first up go.... "JDM: IF its from a USA OEM regardless where its made then its not . if its from a Japanese named co that is domicilied outside japan and them makes in china, etc, then its not, , if its made in japan , designed for Japan, marketed in Japan , released in japan for the Japanese , then it is." my first draft, anyone else wanna add ?
  3. drink, gamble... golf ? ha, sacrilege!!!!
  4. This is a tough one for me . I tend to get quite vociferous on claims by a lot of pretenders............................... ithink its down to the individual PIECE it self, not the co that makes it these days EG: If its made here by say, kyoei and sold to the US/Australia only does that count ? to me.... nope! but if say, its made in china etc ,and DESIGNED, MARKETED AND sold for JAPAN predominantly and the world , then definitely , yes. (prgr egg) for eg. if its made anywhere else and not sold designed for here, and say with a Japanese NAME ? ha, then absolutely NO!! ! Heres my classic conundrum : MIURA. THIS is a tough one for me bec, I (loved) miura, had sooooooooooo many of their clubs ( still do!) but 90% of their stuff now doesn't exist here nor was it made for JP ( id never look at miura again bec of this) BUT its made here so im kinda emotionally caught on this, the baby blades are NOT imo and never will be JDM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes I know they are made in JP but not 1 piece of them are for local consumption, so............ NO! GIKEN range , isms then 100% yes! HONMA as well .. seriously , what to make of them.... their biggest mkt is still prob. here but its obviously they are looking to the globe more so than here BUT they are still HONMA and most of if not all gets sent out locally, so yea I consider most of it JDM. TM,callaway, titlesit, KZG etc , NO FKKN WAY , they are as JDM as a hamburger, I dont care if they make for the bashfull prince or not , most of their foray into JP is a rounding error and a pure marketing ploy , so no way hose!
  5. Great feedback here Nobs, yea I stand by the fact that it was bit low. I liked its distance , that wasnt in question and I thought it was LONG but I just cudnt get it go draw with any soaring flight . no matter how high I had the tee so I let it pass. I liked the huge face on it and small overall look as well. Ive got and game... a lot of PRGR drivers and am a big fan of their very non typical design , espcially the egg range, which wasn't aimed at low cappers but I seriously disagree! the egg7 ((9*) is prob my favourite of them all, I game that in comps back home on links almost exclusively nowadays (diamana ali islei 80s) ,prgr seem to make their woods so neutral its hard not to have one ........(or4 or 5 ). in your quiver. based on your findings, I might just try and pick a proto up this season and see if I cant make it sing!
  6. hit the balls on a. golf courze and see for.yourself u can poke tnat fkkn mschine so far in yr assssser swap. total crap. hit the balls on the course its easy!
  7. spot on with that. the 125x are a much smoother feeling shaft, pretty much the same weight if I remember correctly. I had the shimadas in a set of miuraisms for a long time until I started playing them here and I wasn't getting the launch I needed in JP to land on the planet sized greens we have, so I swpaeed them out for the 125s... was a good move. on links tor in wind the shimadas are a tough nut to compete with let alone beat, u wont move them about laterally. only ones I think hold candle to them are the NS super peening blues. shimadas much more stout feeling and lower launching than the 125s and similar to the super peeening blue. iwud toss a caoin over the shims and SP range as to which are better, in fact that's impossible they are very similar
  8. haha.. u looked at the pt shaft from GD ? that is such a medium shaft. absolutely nothing i can find about it that i dont enjoy. its a little bit older now, as well, shingo was using it for.a.while. and another one is then2016 quadra ptv-nx got that in my astro tour and I cant get it out of the bag~ ! .
  9. nobs I found htose heads to be low, the stock diamana blue 60s in them didn't help get the ball airborn much at all. they were long al right. the pro black one was a beauty but it wasn't that easy to hit, not overly forgiving. cant wait to hear ur thoughts on them, I passed THEM OVER IN FAVOUR OF THE older egg models I already have.
  10. callaway tour authentics . endo forged, limited quantity. more bounce less offset. super peening blue.stiffs sweet sweet riders!
