  1. im pretty similar to you. ive used the D1 6 s and didnt like it really. nothing heavier in that range, i swapped it out prettty quickly its low spin alright and i think it is mid launching(?) and perfecty good , nice feeling BUT its one of those take the left side out mumblers, that if you have any slice tendancies, is just plain awful.high slice a thons. mjr d is the man to ask about the 9003 i think by all reports that thing is a monster. as for weight..., ive gone form 69g to 77gs now and perform a lot better now .i use that weight in my epon and yamaha heads.. total club weight 320-325 grams now. SW no less than d3, ive gone heavier on these in the last 2 months and its made a great difference. hitting a lot more fairways and long. the mid launching shaft is the perfect balance to a 9.5-8.5 lofted head or as ive gone , and seem to prefer now 10* in the lower laucnching quadra fire line. u might want to have a look at he quadra line before u make ur mind up about GD. theres nothing better ive hit.... and ive him pretty much all of it.

someone asked a while back about the 22* 9 wood pr-gr egg as a utility replacment. well i tried this yesteday, shafted it with a steel NS pro 1050 x (3 wood shaft) i want this club for the longer par 3s 206 yards to 220 yards. or the shorter par 5s primarily . i used it yesterday and smoothed it out, with nice high, non directional bias shots to 220 yards, none of the slice ive been encountering with normal utility rescues and i didnt have to fight to turn it over.if anything its slightly long,200 is hard for me to hit to with this but its absolutley perfect for 215-230, its got the spot in the bag for the forseeable future. the faiways now are set except for the 3 wood which continues to trouble me . the 13* egg with the fubuki 75 fw X is in the bag at the moment, but its so stout i think ill have change out that shaft to something a litltle more workable, the fubuki is just point shoot but you have to swing really hard. and it doesnt like to be worked at all i think the yamaha fricoff v 14* will get a run as the alternate to driver off the tees, i love the shape of this and its feel ,,,,,well..............,the 18* egg is perfect from fairways, that my most consistant club off the deck , im hitting that so well and so easily its long enough to get to the edge of par 5s and super accurate , the egg 5 wood and egg 9 wood , have their spots, the 3 wood is still concerning me. the choice is bewtween the egg 13* which ill use on windy bad days. --- the egg 15* and the yamaha V. shafts make such a differnce its incredible. the wrong shaft for your swing type ruins the club, thats the most important lesson ive learned this year with regards to equipment. shaft your heads correctly and the club becomes a wand!
  3. hmmmmmmm, you have summed up my feelings on those irons perfectly. i was tying to get a set of miura blades to play links and firm turf ,windy days etcetc, ive recentyly re instated my sakamotos for that exact purpose. small sole ,compact head ,low punch shots. the epon are just unbeatable on lush green sponge conditions. but the sole on them is quite thick and i found i was making a lot more mistakes with them off tight cropped fairways compared to my kyoeis, i even think the af-tour s arnt as good as clubs with smaller soles.bridgestone 901s are a prime example, in terms of Endo forging, ive seen the light here recently. especially on the woods. i ve hit so many and varied this year , but now ill only use yamaha and epon drivers. and thats 100* beceause of the feel , there are problay longer clubs out there but for my lot and that swoosh when you connect epon wins hands down.
  4. i have the kenmochi and the epon 208s the kenmochi have a fantastic grind ,probably the most versatile off all the wedges i use, the toe grind hleps enormously when u need to hit pancake shots that just die off the toe , and the shape frames the ball nicely. but he spin isnt what other wedges produce, and if anything these tend to turn over with full shots, which isnt ideal for a wedge!. i want to take my epons in and get them ground to the same grind as kenmochi, then i think ill have a mean assssssss set of wedges. the epons 208..., are a great shape, beautiful feel , but they lack variety. a meld of these is ideal for me, oh yea in austraia on hard pan lie the kenmochis perform really well. ive got a set down there for emergencies. bec of the grind you can lay these open and slice the blazes out of balls a lot easier than most others ive used, yururi are great for that as well .
  5. funny u shud post this i just bought a really nice roddio one from yahoo jp for about $30 ill see ifthey got any left not neon, ricky fowler esque either

just popped downstairs to have a peek it is the egg 21* pc-01 model is this a popular ute ? first time ive hit it, ilove it.
  9. its like the perfect wedge, or wave ........................, there isnt one but theres no harm in tying to find it........., right ? i also bought the 13* old egg last night with the fubuki 75 fw x used that today as well as my search for the perfect driver repalcement continues it goes about 3 feet off the ground it doesnt like moveing around a lot and runs for miles. have to go at it pretty hard to get it but the results were good i had the quadra 65s tipped put i IN THE new model 15* as well much better than the 75XS FW. still a little on the llght side tho.
  10. Well, it happaend again, i was fishing around poking my nose in 3 woods section just sniffing about found the yamaha and liked it immediatly, THEN a random 2007 pr-gr 22* utility jumped out at me and said "hey fella hit me!" so i did , today, firstly i had the wrong shaft in the m-40 steel. but i used it anyway. its the best of these style utes ive hit . the look is terrific. the feel is sensational and you can move it where ever you like. distance was 195- 220 perfect and the trajectory was mid. id say this is done as my replacement , now to shaft it with a nice kbs steel shaft. BUT if this is from 2007 what are the new ones like............. T ?????
  11. saw one today loved the look of it and shape. wondered if anyone has hit this.. is it from endo as well. ? peformance?
  12. yamaha d series...., 2009 on ooff red. i think would be hard to top , top makers and top quality shaf the on off with a roddio tri or pentacorss and the yamaha with anything that suits you. i think youll have a tough time beating these combos. and u might fine the viq becomes your back up!
  13. T might agree here but the on off is a great club, my mate hits it and he changed from the egg thinks its much easier, more classical and hes using the roddio m6 reg shaft swears by it that might be well worth considering?
  14. where...... how ......,do u get this T ur a legend.
  15. im absolutely furious beyond belief about this but a caddy dropped my yonex on the pavement last weekend nad the face is scratched up. is there a way to repair this, theres definite litle chicks out of it and its unsightly and annoying, plus i cant get 10 yen back for it in that condition. im HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLOING about this. any thing i can do, can i send back to the factory or something?
  16. ha, addiction is a nassssasty word., id prefer the phrase ..............." a zealous shaft enthusiast" yes my love and repsect for quadra is well and truely documented and ingrained. ive finally worked out my perfect shaft from them and its the "75 xs" and it feels best in the yamaha v 201.... im NOT changing that puppy!!!!! playing last week did me the world of good working out the best combos i have . the epon 102 and stinger 70s is magnificent ,its med low launch bec of the shaft flight and head @ 8.5* but shots run out like "" Yiannis Kouros "" the crazy range im starting to hit more now, ive said all along i absolutely love the feel of it , but i struggeld twice with the go right thing in a match so i got freaked and switched agn. the quadra or stinger dont do that . (((read , me with those shafts ))) i just put my crazy black 50 8.2 (x) into my TM superquad and swapped some new heavier weights into it to bring it to 320 x d2 x 45.5 (ill just choke down on it .) for a workout tom morn and im expecting a cannon . the superquad sets up to my eye as a draw head so that should counter the no-go- left thing . the super quad i belive is reknown for long bombs im told , this is my frst foray into it so ill be very anxious to find out, i do love the look of it . i hit the TM and crazy 50 on hols but but it was far too light, tom. it should be perfect. the crazy 80 7.4 (s) my buds swapping me is going STRAIGHT into an epon 101 9.5 head. after months of deliberation ive finally agreeed to swap this for the shingo spec roddio. i absolutley love the feeling of the roddio shaft , but its too high and snappy for me, ive finally realised after too many snap-a -doodle-doos . my buddy whos swing speed is 100 ish maybe lower kills this club , i think hes picked up 20ish yards with this shaft. i play with him very week and hes easily cayght up its all soaring draw bombs , massive carry no roll. for slower swingers he swears blind this is right at the top of the best shaft s there are. i thought it was at first till i got killed left, its just not stiff enough for over 105mph. and hitting it a lot is the only way to find out. ive seen the crazy head shaft combo a lot , most of the time its with the longest yard and plays to 46 inch, so ive never had any interest, ive been curious abouth the head tho, dont like the look of it, but curious, Mjr D has just spiked my intrest here with this review. it sounds like an Enloa gay. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....., .
  17. the egg in 17* f its so versatile off the fairway, and from a tee u can get away with it . th stock shaft in m-40 should see you straight, my palying partner in miyazaki last week was 81 yrs old and was playing the 17* in m-37 and hitting about 180 of the deck so.., id almost guarantee the m-40 wont be a stretch ive hit 15-17-18 and am getting the 22 tonight so im pretty au fait on how they play and perform. the 15 is obviously the longer club and lower launching but the 17 is just so versatile its just a little bit in between for me , and its miles longer than the 18* is a lofted spoon the 18* is a 5 wood. totally different clubs.
  18. Dribbling in anticipation, mine mine mine
  19. i think this quote might answer ur question Just as a quick update... Anyone who wants my 15* Egg Spoon w/Crazy FW80 can have it for FREE!!!! All you have to do is shoot me and pry it out of my cold dead fingers..... love this quote ive plagerised J lots of times on this one. i think this is pretty definitive.
  20. im sure you become great friends!
  21. BIG , second that on the egg. i didnt like the epon , ll but i think that was bec the shaft i had in it wasnt for me. off the fairway i cant possibly think of anything thats easier or more controlled to hit than the egg. im still deliberating what the perfect driver repalcement tool is tho. the sleekness of the face of the spoon sometimess freakes me out offf the tee. i try and turn everything over . i like to see a bit more chunk at tee time bec my wandering mind like to belt the bejesus out of the ball and with the sleek spoon i top balls on occasions. but to move it around and hit all ldiffernt shots NO other fairway wood off the deck is easier or more consistant than ive hit. now ive just seen they have released the new model in 15*---17* woods ---18*- 5 wood ----21* 7 wood i almost bought the whole range last night i was dribbling.! and im going with the old 22* 9 wood as my ute it will be a litte longer than i want it for but i had a good look last night and it clicked. decision made.
  22. TKS i kept going to the lighter shafts which didnt suit. i might even try another DI in the 7 series as a faiway wood shaft i think they would suit beautifully.
  23. T is it corect to say that the DI and EV range from Graphite design are take the left side out of play biased shafts ? and the MD range is non biased ?
  24. ((Epon AF102 8.5° - Graphite Design P9003x)) sorry , hate to do this( JUST once tho..., off topic just for a tic..., )) how does this combo go blader- x ? ive just orderd one of those shafts and was thinking which head to put it in?
  25. ive kinda gone the other way on many occasions ive always hit heavier sticks , then i picked up a set of ns pro 950 gh s shafts in some fouteens tc 1000 as opposed to the 1050 x in m y kyoeis blades and loved the extra flick i can get with my hands. (( im putting that completely down to bad swing fundamentals and having my hands catch up.)) but my clubbuilder insists i am to continue to hit the heavier ironed clubs bec when im on im much better so ......,i do as he says ive been informed that thers a fitting process by which you are fitted thru your hand speed. not club speed i cant wait to pop in there and have them do a fitting so ill know for sure. i think im very wristy and with the heavier clubs i can struggel to get thru the ball when im not playing well and push block a lot of balls, this is my thinking, but im looking to get this hand fitting done to find out for sure. in my mind tho what ever gets the ball closest by what ever means is the best. but i still err to light clubs when the going gets tough and the heavy blasters when im on a roll. prob not the ideal set up for consistency me thinks...........,
