Sorry Hutchy, did not mean to divert off topic. I do want to try the MP20 HMB made of forged Cromoly. Long time ago I used to have these SYB wedges that were made of Cromoly and really like it. They felt as good as any carbon steel head. I think Fourteen also used Cromoly with many of their previous wedges. More recently, Yamaha RMX 120 then the MP-20 HMB as well as JPX 921 Forged. Supposedly, Cromoly provides distance gains without sacrificing too much feel of carbon steel forged irons. I'd rather try one piece Cromoly forged over steel + forged multi material heads.

Currently, I am using Project X LZ 5.5 but I also do well with the Modus 105 Stiff. By the time I decide to use the MP-33 set, I might need to drop a flex on these shafts. I also currently use NS950GH Stiff which I feel are one of the best shafts that Nippon has released. Winter golf is easier with the 950GH. I tried the 950GH Neo recently but I think the originals felt better overall.

I've tried them during my iron shaft fitting . Like any other Mizunos they felt great ... I used the MMC model and they did have a touch of offset. I know they've used copper underlay in these but honestly could not tell if they were or not. Eventually, when I have nothing else to tinker with, I will start using the Yoro MP-33s that I have stashed away! Perhaps I will need to reshaft when I am ready as they currently have NS1150GH Stiff in them. (too sturdy)
  4. Grandista Driver & Loop GK SX shaft - Sold Grandista FW & Speeder TR shaft - Pending Buchi SP-301 heads and Mizuno MP-66 irons - Pending Things are moving quickly!! 🙂
  5. Ok got it.. have some weight screws to go with it too. Will get postage to you soon.
  6. All Gone.
  7. Yup... as you say, I am going to tinker wit the set ups. that's what I do! Irons and wedges are pretty much set for the moment. Not sure about woods.
  8. We have a Winter Tourney series going at my course and today was the 2 man best ball event and I ended up shooting my all time low of 70 !! 36/34 5 Birdies / 3 Bogies Wooooohooooooo!!!! As a team, me and my 75 yr young partner shot 4 under 68 (gross). Maybe good enough for placing. we'll find out next week. I set an ambitious goal of trying to shoot sub-70 in 2021 and I came very close to doing so today!! And it's still only January!! Had a couple of 15 footers go in the hole today which helped a lot. I wish I could putt like this all the time!! Putter wise, the Evnroll ER2 with the Gravity grip has been a game changer!! My set up has been updated a tiny bit specifically with the woods. DR: Ping G410 LST / Ventus Black Velocore 6S FW: Labospec RD-247 R5 / Loop FW6TS SX UT: Labospec RB-247 U3 / Labospec Shinari U70 S IR: Seven SC 5-PW / Project X LZ 5.5 WG: JDM Cleveland RTX 2.0 Precision Forged 50-54-58 / Modus 120 X PT: Evnroll ER2 / Gravity Grip They had Srixon demo day today as well and I got to try the new ZX driver, Driving irons and irons. Driver: Shape wise both drivers looked identical to me. Very playeresque traditional, almost pair shape like. Feel was solid but the sound was a bit tingy. despite the compact traditional look at address, this driver was surprisingly forgiving and quite long. Explains why Matsuyama finally started using Srixon driver again! Irons: ZX5 felt OK ... still had a slight springly feel due to the multi-material construction. ZX7 felt good. I was told they went back to Endo forgiving for the new irons. I tried it with the same LZ5.5 I have in my Seven SC. honestly speaking, my Seven SCs felt softer and looked better at address!! Driving Iron: Looked pretty sharp, not too bulky. Was pretty easy to hit and distance was good. Feel was better than your typical driving iron. Also saw all of the new SIM2 woods at a near by driving range. They were demo clubs but not available for demo yet as the release date is 1/19. They went back to a black color carbon crown for the driver and fairway. I personally liked the grey carbon used in last year's SIM. the grey carbon looked more exotic compared to plain black. In fact I picked up a SIM Max driver , TI Fairway and a Hybrid recently to see how they actually played. The driver is still up in the air, but the fairway and hybrid are actually top notch clubs. I've stayed away from TM clubs since R11 first came out. Not sure if I will put these in play but just another set of clubs to play around with during the off season. - The SIM2 Ti fairway was way more compact than the SIM Ti and they brought back the 16.5 (HL) 3 wood. - Hybrid comes in two flavors with SIM2 Max Hybrid was really no different from the SIM Max Hybrid ... perhaps a touch more open faced. The SIM2 rescue was shaped more like an Adams Hybrid of yesteryear and had an adjustable hosel. - And finally the driver. Shape from address was very similar to the SIM series. The Blue Anodized aluminum parts on the back end looked interesting. We'll have to see how these feel and perform. Overall , I had a good long day spent doing a lot of things golf! This is how I like to spend my Saturdays!!

    Great write up!!
  10. The black limited edition looks nice, but not sure why they didn't do the logo in the signature red!! would have looked much better. Gonna wait for the normal version.
  11. you have the new Tour 115? or the 115 Wedge?
  12. From what I read thus far, the new Modus 115s are of the 105, 125 family with high kick point. The raw weight of 115 is actually heavier than the Modus 120, which is somewhat confusing, but I would expect the 115 to perform midway between the 105 and 125 in terms of trajectory and spin. When I got fitted with the Project X LZ 5.5, the other shaft that performed similarly well was the Modus 105 S. However, Modus 105 S felt a bit too light for me and a bit too high trajectory. I'll need to try these 115s as they should fit me well. The only thing I am not impressed wth the PX LZ is the poor weight tolerance. When assembling my set, I had used tip weights ranging from 2 to 8 grams to get the correct swing weight all because the shaft weights are so off. Based on my past experience with Nippon shafts, I would not have weight tolerance issues. Also, I am hoping they feel better at impact.
  13. My understanding is that the IO is the successor to the PXi. I am currently fit into the LZ which is middle of the range fits the broadest swing profile. The IO as you would know are designed to produce higher launch with some added back spin compared to the LZ. Love the new brushed finish of the LS and IO. Those Satin DOA heads will match perfectly with the IOs.
  14. JBeam Bullet was supposedly designed with lessening the effects of mis hits on the toe. The CG location is slightly biased towards the toe side. They said strikes on the toe were less likely to end up in a hook and distance not compromised. Having said that, from my personal experience, different shafts provide different striking patterns on the face. For me, a shaft with stiffer tip and low torque usually helps me strike the ball more consistently at the middle of the face. Shafts that have active (or softer) tip section, I end up hitting the toe section more often primarily due to drooping of the shaft at impact.

I actually don't know what they use for stock. But I recommend Shimada's stepless (NSTP) series with .370 tip. They are clean looking thanks to the stepless design and very high quality. Benock uses them for their stock. (NSTP-120)
  16. I hope everyone is enjoying Christmas day safely where ever you might be!! 2020 has certainly been different and challenging and even devastating for many. I'd say my family were one of the lucky ones where I still had a steady job and my wife and daughter continued to work as essential workers. Golf in the U.S. saw a huge uptick in the number of rounds played this year. That's a good thing for the golf community. Apparently, the only other year that had a bigger surge was 1997 when Tiger came into the golf scene! In any case, I am really hoping and praying that we are indeed headed towards recovery from this pandemic. For those working the frontline in the midst of the horrible ongoing outbreak, thank you for all you have sacrificed thus far and thank you for all you do each day. Wishing everyone here on the forum a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

  18. reviews need to come from folks who have tried the clubs. There is not a club in my bag where I have not provided some type of feedback... what about you guys?!!
  19. Not just the very mature swing... he had some serious distance using junior length clubs. He had a 3 or 5 wood that went like 175 yds....
  20. Yes... very good looking head indeed! Despite all the great reviews on this head, I've actually not tried it! At the time I was confidently playing an Epon AF-153 which has a similar profile as this Labo head. But now that I have 2 of my woods replaced with Labospec clubs, I have been staring at this thing!!! Then again, I also love my current Ping G410 LST set up.
  21. The RB-247 U3 Hybrid arrived yesterday... it's shafted with the stock Labospec Shinari U70 in Stiff... As with many of the stock Japanese club shafts, I was not expecting much from it.... WRONG!! Though I've only had a short range session, this UT is so much more forgiving than my current gamer Adams A12 Pro.... The Shinari shaft is so smooth but not whippy. In my 20 shots or so, all shots were pretty straight to a baby draw... easy to hit a fade too. getting about 200 yards I think. Plenty of height to stop on the green too which I was not getting from my Adams. I'll need to re-grip since the stock OnOff grip is just too small for me. But I think this stock head shaft combo is excellent as is. Very happy with it!! On the other hand, I am again tinkering with the shaft in the R5 5 wood. I have a ATMOS Black Tourspec 5TX in my G410 LST driver and love the consistency and predictability of my shots lately with it. So I thought I'd put in the same shaft in the R5 head. Well, it works very well! Tad lower trajectory than the FEx BX70 and it is also about 10g lighter too...
  22. You should correct the original posting too .... TT Monaco's are uber rare especially in Stiff flex and hold a certain premium value.

6 deg on the 52 deg and for the 58, there were two types A and H ( Taken from PRGR Staff Azuma Yano and Hideto Tanihara ) Type A was 10 deg bounce and Type H was 6 deg Your last pic shows Type A .. so 10 deg bounce.
  25. That JBeam looks very slick.
