  1. thanks!! Brrrr... So cold out here on BST :)
  2. each person differs. If you have never been professionally fit, I suggest you do that first , and if the resulting club performs well for you, stick to those specs. Hard to determine your optimum specs without first knowing what works for you.
  3. As my new years resolution, I have been diligently going to the gym 6 days a week. 45 to 60 min on stationary bike, and 30min with weights and stretching. Doing pretty good. Trying to minimize that ramp up time I always have at the start of the season with my swing speed. Anyone know of a good workout menu targeted for golfers?

So what was your problem with all of the hybrids? I used the 902 before and while I could hit them solidly, I occasionally got the big hooks which is pretty common with many hybrids. This is why I moved away from hybrids (again) I was not very good with Driving Irons either but this time around I am using lighter hybrid shafts in my driving irons which I think will help with the launch. We'll see how it goes. Depending on what your problems were, you may be able to address them with different character shafts. Have you tried going to a fitter to get fit for a hybrid?

Practice your hybrid. BTW, What hybrid do you have now? Guessing from your other clubs, Epon AF-902?

Sensational! Does't get much better than that! Congrats on your new irons!

There was a recommendation on a Japanese golf magazine a while back for 3 iron replacements. For slower swing speed: 7 wood For medium swing speed: Hybrid For faster swing speed: Driving Irons I think at the end, it's all preference. I have used all three types and now settled with driving iron as my 3 iron replacement.
  8. You're swapping out your entire bag? Some awsome gear here!! GLWS
  9. Thanks. So copper underlay + Satin vs just copper is quite different in feel then? My MP62s are only copper plated and while the feel at impact is definitely softer compared to the original chrome finish, copper seems to wear relatively pretty quickly. Used to have copper Epon 208 wedges and the sole on the 58 became stripped down to the steel after 2 seasons or so. Sure with Sand wedges , it might wear quicker than others but trying to figure out if there is a good way to keep the copper on but still maintain the soft feel. I thought maybe copper underlay was the solution, but perhaps not.
  10. So why does Mizuno and Miura use copper underlay on their very special limited models? Surely there are some benefits/advantages to having copper underlay. no? like enhaced feel? As a feel player myself, I would not mind having better feel with my irons.
  11. Is it true that these Meister -M have copper under lay?
  12. Not exactly the same thing, but my daughter gets off the school bus right in front of our house. By the time the bus comes around our area, there are only a few kids left to drop off and the driver stops in front of each house. :) Again not the same thing, but some of these values still exist in the U.S. ( well at least here in Montana! :) )
  13. That's like a dream team combo IMO!! Not a lot of 80T iron shafts out there. Together with the Epon P1 head, it's gotta feel like magic! GLWS!
  14. Slightly deeper than the 202HT. Just the right face depth in my opinion.
  15. Has anyone tried this yet? Would love to get some feedback on performance as well as forgiveness feel and sound I am going to go for a driverless back up bag so looking for a fairway wood that that would go long. I would prefer something in Titanium with a loft af around 12 to 13 deg. Deep face is fine as I will mostly use this off the tee. Some choices I have so far: - Roddio Spoon ( if they can do the loft ) - Kamui KM200 - Mystery 511 Proto FD - Baldo Brassy Any others I should be looking at?
  16. I think I am seeing the same. though mine is 16.5 it does launch higher than what I am used to with other 16.5 heads I had in the past. The only other fw I'd possibly like to try would be the Roddio Spoon if the performance is close to this one.
  17. I've built my 16.5deg RS-F 3 wood head with a Basileus Beta FW shaft. I have not had the chance to hit it outside yet. Only on an indoor simulator. Getting good distance. Chris, do you find the trajectory higher or lower based on said loft? As you mention, the size is compact for a Ti head, which I really like. Really compliments the driver nicely. I am just waiting to see if Yoshida-san will come out with a Ti hybrid. :)
  18. These shafts are getting really hard to find.
  19. quite a bit on the auction site. lots to select from.
  20. Yeah, I thought about going steel as well ... like an DG S300.. but that would be too normal. :)

A few months ago, I picked up a new old stock Honma Super Persimmon 4 wood. Beautiful piece of equipment. However,it had this slinky Carbon Boron stock shaft in R flex which I am sure was top notch technology back in the day. I was not going to possibly use it as is, so I took one of my all time favorite semi-vintage shafts, Rombax Prototype 80B in Sea Foam Green color ( I believe P Mickelson had it in his Cally Steelhead for the longest time ) and decided to use it in this head. Reshafting these things takes special tools and material and skills which I do not have, so I decided to send it off to a clu restoration specialist called the "Golf Club Hospital" out in Minnesota. After a couple of weeks, the club came back with the shaft installed. These Super Persimmon heads actually were hollowed out persimon impregnated with Polymer and had a carbon fiber face piece with and oval titanium center plate with brass pins. Now that's mult - material!! :) This head size is just about the same as a modern 3 hybrid. Real loft was measured as around 21deg ... Wow, the 4 woods back then were pretty lofty!! Anyway, while I'll be mostly be using a #3 driving iron as my gamer, I may from time to time take it out for a round to enjoy some nostalgia and the softest, and I mean "Softest" , impact that no modern metal head would be able to match!! Enjoy the pics!
  22. Congrats on your new driver! I really like the shape of the head, nice and deep. How's the forgiveness of this driver. Also can you tell us a bit about the standard shaft? ( kick, feel )
  23. Good deal! Let us know how it works out for you!
