  1. So I wanna see what all the hubbub about the Gold's putters is so I need to find out the best way to get one. Don't really want used so new it is I guess. How do you start? Have TSG make me one? Or send mine in to get "GF'd"? I have a Scotty Cameron and it's really nice, the black one with the 3 red dots on the back, Anser style. I really like it but it's just so….well, American. Haven't had anything USDM in the bag besides this putter for years. So how do you get one made?

If that Crazy didn't work out, why not just a Nippon 950. That's what most of 'em come stock with and it's a damn good shaft. You like a 75-gram shaft in your driver and want a light shaft in your ute? I never understood why we don't just put iron shafts or at least heavier graphite in our utes. Seems control would be much more important than distance for the shots necessitated by a hybrid.

You sure you used an AD SF shaft in a driver? Those are FW-specific shafts and are only 42" long. But I've used them and they are really good FW and/or ute shafts.
  4. Good write-up, Chris. Those Srixons are good-looking drivers. One thing I've noticed after trying a ton of different drivers (as you must know) is that it takes a while to mesh with a driver. I can usually take irons or FW's and start hitting them pretty well after a swing or two. But it takes a few sessions for me to feel like I can get a real feel for how a driver works, and how to swing it properly. My swing is better than ever right now and I've got about 5-6 drivers I'm sorting through. But each day when I take one out I have to get used to it again before I can start to compare distance, dispassion, forgiveness. The only exception has been the TPRX, I was bombing that thing out of the gate but the next session or 2 struggled with it.
  5. Just remember that if you go non-conforming that you can't use the the scores you shoot with it for USGA handicap purposes. Might as well use 18 clubs or not count all your strokes if you use these scores. If you don't turn scores in or just want something to mess around with at the range, no problem.
  6. His question is over 6 years old. Pretty sure he probably went somewhere else to find out how to hit it further.
  7. Damnit, I may just have to force myself to get over the offset. Those are way too sexy to pass up. And you can just tell by looking at 'em that they'd feel great.
  8. I've got a set of the 1007 Y-grind and I wouldn't think they'd be close to the most forgiving. Very solid and satisfying, but forgiving? Not so much…be sure to try to hit the ball closer to the heel than the toe.
  9. "Head Only" it says. I was wondering as well though. Kinda looks like Tour AD DI UT?
  10. I'd say this one: http://www.miuragiken.com/products/mg/cb-2007/index.html
  11. Haha, yes, it does sound awful. And feel just about as bad. But coming from Yamaha Tour drivers I thought that was how everything else felt/sounded. I'd be curious as well if something can be done to make it sound like a golf club and not a college baseball bat.
  12. One like this:
  13. Guess you meant "Glamour" shots? But maybe you didn't want any trademark infringement issues? haha Great pics though, I'm lovin' mine.
  14. If they built in the offset from the MB into this head I'd order a set on the spot. At least a mm or so too much offset here for my taste. Good news is it saves me some dough. I don't mind the "busy" as much as the minimum face progression. And BTW, I wish they'd list FP for their irons like almost everyone else does. Anybody told 'em that?
  15. I've got a set. Tremendously solid feeling. One thing I had to get used to is the COG is more heel side than most CB's. I found out on the MG site, after I translated the page, that they removed some weight from the toe to shift the sweet spot in some. I didn't know at first and couldn't hit them solid as often as usual. After learning, it took a while to focus on trying to hit closer to the heel. Only about 1/4-1/2", but it does make a difference if your normal miss is a slight toe. But the sole grind is much better than some other Miuras, no digging as they've given some leading edge relief. Nice strong ball flight, solid Miura feel, great looks, compact head.. Not overly forgiving, only slightly more than their blades.
  16. OK, so I don't normally post about something I've just barely tried but this changes here and now. I bought a XXX D 10* with Messenger shaft off BST and this is the longest driver I've ever hit. I was carrying it over a green at my course's range which is exactly 265 to the middle. About 5-8 MPH wind behind, but I've never hit so many balls in one session over this green, usually it's just maybe one fluke. Some were rolling out up this little hill which stops at about 295. I've rarely hit anything up this hill, especially since it was kinda cool, about 63*. Sometimes in the summer it'll be 100* and still I rarely get a ball up this hill. I don't know if it's the shaft or the head, but dayum, this thing is long for my swing. Even my 1 in 5 high blocks were still getting decent distance, about 250 or so, and not as far offline as normal.
  17. I not only have that shaft, I have the head at the end of it! I'll give you both for cheap, not interested in taking it off. PM me if you want both.
  18. I'll save you some time, no need for photos. Just box 'em back up and ship my direction. All of it!
  19. LOVE big ol' Merican P/U's. To look at and drive in big open spaces. Not much fun to drive in my crowded little neighborhood.
  20. My ride: And my wife's: HUGE back seat to accommodate the twins coming in Feb.

Looking at your bag, why not a Precious Metal 3-wood?
  22. Great stuff here. I've rotated these irons and driver in and out for about a year, love them. GLWS.
  23. Looks like the only differences are the black finish they're using for these and the three little kinked lines in the cavity or back of all three that ties them together better and the TS stamping on the sole. I like the first two, but wish they woulda just put Tourstage on the back of the hosel or something.
  24. Any driver shaft can be used for a FW. Usually you have to tip trim them about an inch to get the same flex (for a 3-wood) you would for a driver with the shaft untipped. Most people prefer a FW shaft with a little lower kick point than their driver shaft to help with launching it a little higher.
  25. Watching it right now. Rose, Dufner, and Adam Scott playing well but Paddy's stinking it up!
