  1. You need more than 90 MPH to carry 230. That chart shows 90 for Total of 230. To Carry 230, you need close to 98 or 100. Either they WAY mis-read your swing speed or you aren't really carrying the ball 230-240 yards. A lot of guys I know THINK they carry it 250 but in reality it's more like 230-235 carry. Figure out which it is. 80 MPH won't come anywhere close to carrying 230, more like 190.
  2. Yeah that C-GT was crazy. Not much of a daily driver, though, obviously, and the only track around wasn't "big" enough for it. Fun little road course but better suited for smaller, more agile, less powerful cars.
  3. They do make great cars, I've just never been crazy about the 911, even after having a couple. But I did like the Carrera GT I had about 8 years ago. That thing was a BEAST, but a little hard to drive if not on the track. Most demanding clutch ever; I had friends that were decent drivers stall it out all the time in first gear. haha
  4. You can buy whatever you want with the Platinum card too, assuming you've shown the ability to pay for big balances. I've bought 150k+ cars with it just to get the points. No pre-set limit on it or anything. The Centurion card was great with the concierge and whatnot, but it just seems that there was always some kind of restriction on all their "free upgrades" and perks that didn't work with my needs/wants.
  5. Has anybody else hit the 5-wood? I've got the 3- and 5-wood and, while I like them both, the 5 has a much different sound. A much higher-pitched ting than the 3. They are both long and flight is normal, just don't know why one would sound so different. Same shaft in both, Tour AD MD-7.
  6. At the risk of sounding racist, or at the very least stereotypical, I've always preferred the European cars over the Japanese ones, especially when you're talking more performance cars. IMO the Japanese cars are extremely reliable, but usually lack in styling. Always seeming to copy something else, but not quite getting it, as far as appealing to the senses. You can talk numbers all you want, but for the total experience, give me an Aston Martin. I once had a DB-9 that was EASILY the best combo as far as sound, feel, smell, looks. Also brought out the most anger as it had to be towed in 3 times the first 2 months for different reasons. But it was exquisite for the senses (except monetary, haha). Just something about German engineering and British style gets me into the dealership test-driving new cars. Anyone agree or am I totally off-base and need to give them a chance?
  7. I have an old college friend that now has a contemporary art gallery in Dallas (well, now it's actually an institute). He got me into some artists a few years ago and I bought some of his artists. One of my faves is James Nares of NY. He builds his own brushes and uses a harness system where he hovers over a canvas and does his work with one long stroke. Sounds simple, but sometimes takes him dozens or even hundreds of tries before getting it like he wants. Here's mine of him: It's not hanging crooked, just bad photo!
  8. What's the best credit card for airline travel (points)? I use Amex Platinum, easy access to Delta, but, alas, Delta no longer has a hub in Dallas and I hate having to go thru other cities. Had the Centurion card for a year or two, but didn't take full advantage of its' steep price. They offered it free for the first year, but then, DAMN! Looked into a Citi (?) AA VISA a while back that could be redeemed for America Airlines as they're based in Dallas and you can get anywhere non-stop. But they only allowed $25,000 per year to be transferred. Hell, that doesn't even cover my TSG expenses! Anything better?
  9. That coupe looks delicious! I'm with you, though. Never really liked chrome rims. Seems to be a west coast thing. Everybody on Cali has 'em while they're hard to find here in Dallas. And it's not like Dallas doesn't like bling.
  10. Got a set of '12 Yamaha V-Forged. Primo condition. PM me if interested.

Well I tried to be nice but now I guess I can say wutdafuq!? Look really cheap.

A bit busy I must say. What's that thing shoved down in the hosel that they're pointing out? Hopefully better pic's will make it look better.
  13. Mine too. 9.5* sits dead square. Not sure if I really like it or not, but it does sit square. That sux if yours doesn't when they said it would. Here's a pic of my 9.5 at address:
  14. Glad to hear someone else praise the Yam Tour. I've been pimping it for a while but seemingly got ignored. Maybe it's just me. lol I don't have the hyperbole skills a lot of y'all have. Anyway, it's a great, overlooked driver in this climate of boutique drivers (Ryoma, S-Yard), but I've had them all (still have them all ) and the '13 Yamaha Tour is sitting in my bag.
  15. Whoever buys any of your irons is getting really good deal. As always, these look like they've barely been hit. Guess mine would be pristine too if I had 78 sets in my garage. haha
  16. I would make sure that you KNOW that you like double nickel satin before you order them. I was kinda talked into them and wish I'd gotten just satin chrome. Not wild about the look OR feel of them.
  17. To be brutally honest, they feel like crap so far. And they don't look that good in the sun. Kind of give off a brownish appearance. I don't know if it's the double nickel finish that I was talked into or what, but after about a dozen PW shots, something didn't feel right. I looked at it and realized I was hitting them about 3/4" towards the toe, haven't hit KBS Tour shafts in a while and guess they were a bit different than the Modus I'd been playing. Started hitting them out of the middle and couldn't really feel a difference at impact. Just kinda dead feeling. Went through the 9,8,6, and 5-iron and they all felt the same. Couldn't really tell if I was nutting them or not. And one thing about me, my clubface may not always be directly at my target, but I almost always hit the center of the face. Gonna give 'em another go tomorrow and see if it's better. I rode my bike about 60 miles this morning in heat and high humidity so maybe I was tired. But so far, not so good.

I've got the stock shafted V203 Tour driver in my bag. Stunning looks, great, muted feel/sound, very accurate, fairly forgiving for its size, and long. So far, it's beaten out the 2012 version Tour driver, RomaRo 460, S-Yard XV and .388, Miura SIT, TM RBZ Stage 2, and is in the process of kicking the Maxima V's ass. Need I say more? I was also interested in the Remix but I heard/read that it was made in China and they had some trouble with it. Too bad, sure would like to try it if it was made at Endo.
  19. It's the JDM version of the CB-202. I've used the 202, mostly in the longer irons, 4-6, in combo with Baby Blades. They are really nice clubs, not really forgiving though. Only a hair away from a blade. I believe the SC has a slightly sharper leading edge than the 202. It's the closest-to-a-blade CB I've ever hit. The AP2 would be much more forgiving but prob not as rewarding, depending on your ballstriking skills and what you value.
  20. The muscle on the 4 looks like it may be a hair thicker and comes more to a point at the top. The 69's muscle is a little flatter topped and is actually slightly concave, the 4's looks flat. Maybe a tad more muscle behind the ball on the 4? The trailing edge on the 4 might be sharper as well. I have no idea about the size difference.
  21. Ordered them a couple of months ago. MP-64 5-PW and MP-69 9 and PW. Double nickel satin (looks better in person than I thought it would), less offset, squared toe, slightly rounder sole, initials in cavity, yadda, yadda. KBS Tour shafts, std L/L/L. They were done perfectly, lofts and lies are spot on. Haven't checked SW yet, supposed to be D-2 ish. Can't wait to get 'em out and give 'em a workout.
  22. Got my 9.5 Maxima V the other day and put a Tour AD BB6-s in it. At setup, it looks perfect. I was afraid it would be closed, it's not. The head doesn't look near 460, it hides its size well. It's incredibly forgiving, I still can't tell where one shot I hit was struck on the face out of about 30-40 swings. The balls went lower than expected from what I had heard, maybe cuz of the low launch shaft, but not too low. A hair lower than my 10* Yamaha Tour stock. Average distance was probably a little longer with the Maxima but good shots with the Yamaha were clearly longer. I probably prefer a driver that when struck well will go a little longer as opposed to all of them going about the same. Sound was not too bad on the Max and feel was crisp but not too much so. Verdict is still out.
  23. here's a couple pic's: That's what I call a muscle back. I've got a set of Yoro Craft MP-64 5-PW and MP-69 9-iron and PW coming but these look awfully damn good. Time for more?
  24. Nice set. But you might get more activity in the JDM section. More people look at that section and these are JDM, not USDM.
  25. Threw in a pic of the wife's sled. She loves it, really smooth. To me drives like a yacht with the XL wheelbase.
