Yuyuri Takati Satin v A-Grind Wedge
All I can tell you is that the Tataki wedge is the best wedge I have ever played out of the rough and around the greens.

JDM Driver
I think one of the main issues for me is how I don't feel the need to replace my JDM clubs every season. I have had my Epon and Miura irons for the past 3-4 seasons, and have no intention of replacing them. I have had my Ryoma driver for 2 seasons now. When I bought USDM golf clubs, I felt compelled to buy the latest model every year for some reason.

I guess there aren't a lot of left handers out there. Small market for top end left handed gear.

*Price Drop* Left handed Crazy 435 9.5 degree head for sale
I have tried this head several times, but I just don't make center contact consistently enough to take full advantage of this club. Selling head only. Left handed. 9.5 degree head. I probably played 5 rounds in total with it, and several range sessions. It is in very good condition and the pictures show scratches on the face well. Crown is clean and sole is fairly clean as well. Marks on the face are near the top of the face, with a very small light scratch that goes up onto the paint for 3 mm's or so; not visible at address. Asking $350 $299 including shipping in the U.S.; will split shipping cost outside the U.S. Head cover and weights included. We all know what a low spin, low launch bomber this club head is. Paypal only, no refunds.

Ryoma Maxima Type-V (my first JDM club), what to expect compared to my current gamers?
I would defer to Chris when it comes to shaft recommendations, but mine plays extremely well with a Quadra Fire Express Max WBQ shaft. I have just recently put this back in the bag and really love it. Great combination of feel, forgiveness, and length. Great overall performer.

Can't add much to what Chris has said. Great head with great feel. If it doesn't work for you, consider reshafting it before selling it.

Chris, do I dare ask my usual question? Left handed?

***SOLD*** Yamada 85029 Burning Copper
Oh how I wish that was in left handed. Price is reasonable given it's rarity. No longer being made. I have a Yamada Razor in burning copper that I am considering selling as well.

Iron shafts
I just spent the past 2 months testing graphite iron shafts with my club builder here. I went through: Aldila RIP tour 115 and 95, Steelfiber, Recoil Prototypes, MCI 110, 100, and 90, Arcane, Mitsubishi OT, Accra Tour 115 and 95, and a couple of others. I must have hit around 100 balls with each shaft in each weight option ranging from 90 to 110 grams. I can say that that I am impressed with all the offerings that these shaft manufacturers have produced. Some were a better fit for my swing than others. The Aldila RIP 115 was too stout for my swing. I typically play stiff flex, but in the RIP the regular flex was a better fit. The Steelfibers just didn't suit my swing; I tried all different weights, and ultimately didn't find a fit in this shaft for me. I play Recoil prototypes in my irons, so no surprises there; great shaft. The MCI had a really good feel but were half a club shorter than my Recoils, with no significant improvement in dispersion or ball flight. The Arcane shaft was pretty impressive and surprised me. Unfortunately, the one that suited me best from a dispersion standpoint was the X flex, and I couldn't really feel loading of the shaft which bothered me. The Mitsubishi OT was another really good performer and I liked it a lot, but there wasn't a huge benefit over my Recoils, so I couldn't justify reshafting a whole set of irons. The Accra Tour shafts were the all around best performers; great feel, nice tight dispersion, and good numbers on Flightscope. I shafted one of my Titleist 690 MB irons with this shaft and have hit it on the range a few times. I am thinking of reshafting my Miura irons with this shaft. One interesting finding in this test was how much of an impact shaft weight made to performance. I thought I preferred heavier weight shafts, but the testing showed that my best numbers were produced with a 95 gram iron shaft. I also thought I like a D4 swing weight in my long irons, but testing also showed better consistency with a D2 swing weight. I guess I learned to put aside all my preconceived notions and just going along with the process. A lot of good options out there, but if you go through a thorough fitting process and are open to trying different weights, different flexes, and different brands, you maybe surprised with the results. Best Feel: MCI, Mitsubishi OT, Accra Tour, and Recoil Prototype (a lot of good options out there) Best Dispersion: Accra Tour and Arcane Best all around: Accra Tour and Recoil Prototype

Driving iron help
I have the Callaway 18 degree Ute driving iron and I almost never play it. I keep wanting to be able to hit it well, but I am clearly more accurate and have an easier time hitting my hybrid. I should probably spend a little more time on the range with it.

Just beautiful. Oh how I wish they made these in left handed.

JDM Irons....Yururi
I have the Gekku Raw wedge, and the Tataki wedge. I much prefer the feel and performance of the Tataki wedge. The grind on the Tataki seems to work much better with my home course and my swing. It is such a great club out of the rough around the greens. It has given me a lot of confidence with these shots. The finish on the Gekku Raw is very cool, but performance goes to the Tataki.

JDM Irons....Yururi
Not sure if there is any significance, but I love my Yururi Tataki wedge. I don't know that would translate to irons, as a big part of it is the grind for shots around the green out of the rough with the club laid open. Probably doesn't matter, as i doubt this will be offered in left handed anyway.

What's the best way to add swing weight?
Hot melting the head is one of the most common methods skilled club builders use to get swing weight up in woods. The benefit is it mutes the sound as well, which some prefer.

Yamada Putter
He has one feedback rating on eBay. That is very risky.

Great pick up. Any more pictures?

Done with club builders (nothing against them) - need your help though
I am a perfectionist as well, and thought similarly to you. The only reason I don't go down this road is lack of time, and an excellent builder who is reasonably priced and has a store that is a 15 minute drive from my house. He has joked about getting me a key to his store and teaching me how to do it myself.

iron shaft test....
Thanks, that helps. I may have to try these and the steelfibers.

iron shaft test....
I have heard how straight they are, my only concern is that I have heard from a bunch of people how they feel dead, or lack feel. I was hoping to find something alittle straighter than my Recoils, but still had decent feel; essentially the best combo of the two factors. Maybe that is unrealistic.I am going to try them in a single iron head and see how they feel and perform.
