  1. Beautiful set, B. GLWS. (Great seller here, guys. Top notch gear.)

Beautiful, beautiful set -- right down to those shafts and grips which are equally special! Best Epons of all time, IMO. Worth every penny. Best of luck with sale, man. Must be hard to part with these...
  3. Every now and then I'll get a question from somebody asking why every club in my bag is JDM but my driving iron. And I have to say it's because I've tried everything I could get my hands on and nothing has been able to kick this five year old Cally forged 18-degree prototype out. And while I'll always have a soft spot for the line drive ropes that the Cally has delivered for me over the years, I do believe there is finally a new sheriff in town. I put the 2016 A-Grind CMB 18-degree in my bag this week after Chris shafted it up for me with that new Crazy STP hybrid shaft (that I also LOVE in my A-Grind 23 hybrid...), and wow, this thing is money! Butter soft but tight as the 42nd virgin, it sends out rising line drives both off the tee and the deck. While many JDM driving irons could do one or the other well for me, I never came across one that performed in both areas like the Cally. Until this baby. Long, straight, easy to hit, smooth and smoother in combo with the fabulous new blackout stepped carbon Crazy UT shaft. I used it off the tee on a blind Par 4 at my course, and later on our long finishing Par 5 closing hole whose fairway tilts hard to water on one side, but has an overhanging tree limb up the high side right in the way of a high second shot. Bingo on both! Anyone looking for some new love from a driving iron, I do not hesitate to recommend this setup with the A-Grind. Once again, my huge thanks to Ako-san and Chris for turning me on to his amazing subtle designs. PS. I'll try and post some pics. I was so anxious to get it out to the course and into my bag that I didn't take any.
  4. SOLD, guys. Thanks, Staxx, and TSG.
  5. So they would be bending to 64* ? Also, are all the Itobori's conforming clubs?
  6. Would like to see it put in the Boeing wind tunnel though to get a picture of the aerodynamics, especially the trailing pattern. Hey, maybe some of the big hitters could create a sonic boom with the turbulence!
  7. Yeah, granted, my Blackout has a 7D shaft in it, but overall, although I like the look of the ZY7's shape and matte black finish better, I prefer the Blackout for feel and sound. Both are monster long and straight.
  8. FOR SALE: JBEAM ZY-7 driver 10.5 deg - 0.5 Closed face - 195g head - 45" - ZY Speed Blue Shaft in SR Flex - XROZ Tour grip Absolutely mint condition, 1 week old SOLD PayPal net / shipped US I loved the Blackout so much that I had to try this one, too. Hit exactly three times (that's three actual hits, not three rounds) -- enough to know I still prefer the Blackout. Heavily discounted for this brand new JBeam -- my pain, your gain...

Haven't played them that much, JB. So far, they're mostly "office and range clubs." But I'll try to post some a little further down the road.
  10. Agree it looks cool, but also with Steven re: keeping dirt out of all those little honeycombs. Also hard to believe they wouldn't be a drag aerodynamically. Look forward to reviews.
  11. Oh my-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y.............................................................
  12. Yeah, it's a freakish kind of fun to see a fwy wood fly high and higher, kind of a fun mind f*ck because pretty soon you start seeing how softly the ball lands, too, even after a long journey. Would be interesting to see if these avoid ballooning, which is the usual problem you get into with higher loft fwys.
  13. Wish the finish on the top of the head was the same matte black as the sole...
  14. For me, the face milling on the Black improves feel quite a bit, making the driver more workable draw and fade wise.

Glad to see Craig back again lately too, btw.

Cool, thanks, I understand, and respect that. And considering that I have the 7D in the 435 and the t388, you'd think I wouldn't even look elsewhere. And yet I still have the curiosity / JDM cat thing, I guess... ;=]. ( I have one of those ZY7's on the way...). Always look forward to your posts, man. Thanks for keeping them coming.

thanks, man. forgive me if I don't remember, but have you hit a 7D shaft in one of your drivers? I'd be curious how you'd compare this one to a 7D if you have.

    Any pics?
  19. Sweet!
  20. Also, Chris, thanks for the note about Miura: "... Miura now uses different base forgings than they did just a few years ago..." I believe this confirms what my hands have told me about recent offerings...
  21. I LOVE this look! And the option to control where and how much of it is employed. Have to say, I enjoyed that video immensely. Free-form artistry in a grinder's hands! I look forward to seeing these and hearing how the grind performs as well.
  22. @nob -- yes, will launch high, and smooth as silk, but as I noted, put the ball a little back in stance and can hit smooth 3/4 ropes too @sunshine -- I tend to like lighter shafts than most, but if Stew likes this baby, you can believe a heavy user is fine with it, some of his configs I think I could use as barbells for my weight work... <g> @dnq -- thanks, man, and I'd guess it would be awesome in a driving iron, I'm thinking about trying one in mine

Hi, Stephane. I don't know about the original 3-wd. That's one A-Grind I never hit. Triple X Red Hot in the DST. --Richard
  24. Here's to a fine weekend!
