Taylormade Gloire G Coming November
Sometimes I think the guyz at TM must be having a good laugh wondering if there's anything they can come up with that the public won't buy...

Yamada IPT putter restoration / anybody had one done?
Agree with you, nob, he is a character. But worth it. In fact, worth his weight in putters! <g>

Fantastic session at 7D
I'm usually 1 click on either side of 100mph with my driver swing. Transition and everything else is usually described as smooth as silk. Most common comment I hear is "where are you getting that distance from?" I'm not a big guy, 5'10", but I used to be a gymnast. It's about form for me, which is why I find the ability of 7D to exploit what I do so impressive when compared with these heavy lifters who are doing very different things, obviously. Golf is so cool in this way, and I find it cool that 7D seems to be tapping into what works for all kinds of golfers. As I said though, I WOULD like to get on their instruments and have them tell me what would be optimal for me scientifically, as I've always been all about feel. All I know is I love the feel of what they've given me even across an ocean of distance from just the questionnaire. And I wanted people to know that whatever it is, it isn't necessarily about extra length or heaviness in the shaft -- even if that works great for a different type of swing.

Fantastic session at 7D
This makes me respect what the 7D guys are doing all the more, as my specs couldn't be more different. I guess I go for the acceleration factor in the equation because I tend to favor light over heavy. And I do mean light. I went for 60gms for my S-Yard and 50gm (!) for my J-Beam! It does make me want to get on their machines all the more to see what they would optimize me at though, but here are the sheets for the shafts I got for the S-Yard T.388 and the J-Beam Blackout based on questionnaires.

Proper putter length in relation to club length.
I don't believe putter length bears much relation to length of the other clubs. It's all about personal style and preference. I know some fitters measure from the wrist break at the thumb to the floor to assist in making a recommendation. But personally, I'd grab one of Ping's adjustable length Scottsdale's and play around with it to find the length where you feel most comfortable and make the most putts.

Yuyuri Takati Satin v A-Grind Wedge
PS. I even went so far as to try the Nantetsu putter and a set of the Yururi grips to try and find something of theirs that i could use with that beautiful look. But even there, I found both the putter (and even the grips... <g> ) to be very harsh feeling.

Yuyuri Takati Satin v A-Grind Wedge
Hey, Chuck, I hesitated to respond here because I tried the new Gekku, not the Tataki, before I went with the A-Grinds. And I tend to disqualify myself when it comes to Yururi because over and over, I am attracted to the look, but disappointed in the feel. This goes way back to when I first tried one of the raw wedges which I experienced as a harsh digger of a wedge. Using it, I felt I was digging to the center of the earth with each swing... <g> But I always love the look of Yururi's, and keep wanting to try them. This year I went for the wedge when I heard guys talking about the Flatbacks as "soft." Of course everyone has different ideas about what is "soft." I always thought Miuras were soft, but I've heard others describe them opposite. So I don't know what to say, other than my experience with the new Gekku was the same as with the old. For me, very harsh with sharp leading edge -- a digger, and a heavy one at that. Yururi's just seem to end up feeling like rocks to me. In all fairness, the Tataki looks to have a different grind -- actually closer to the A-Grind, in fact, so maybe it's a different animal. Still love the look of every Yururi I've ever seen. But they just don't play right for my touch.

A-Grind Limited Black Wedge Photos
Yes, it's one of the most versatile grinds I've come across. Seems to facilitate whatever is necessary. Great around the greens, great from sand, and long for me on full swing approach shots. Not soft like Miuras, but almost a grabby friction off the face. Drop and stop precise. Am loving them both. Will be shafting up the CB's this week.

Uh-oh...look where I stumbled in to!
Chuck, when I saw your post about finding nirvana last week on your course with the Blackout and TRPX, I was going to say congrats. But the ho in me knew this second post might show one day. It's a "sickness unto death," resistance is futile... ;=] To answer your question though, I'm not a 300 man, but I have no question that the 7d has improved both yardage and accuracy for me in the T388, and then the Blackout with 7D in it has convinced me that I have another driver for life! If I was going to be in Tokyo, I have not the slightest doubt I'd book an appointment at 7D. These guys are for real, and I haven't even had the benefit of the in-person fitting. Oh, and since Ako-San is taking over my bag lately, I've also "decided " to give his A440 a try, too... ;=] yo's in ho-dome, RL

It does look nice. How would you compare it to the t388, Chris?

A-GRIND R1 CB in the House!
FYI, Stef, the 50 played great, too. A real zipper on low pitches: zip, zip, STOP! And like the 56, it plays long for a wedge on full swings. My bag is slowly being taken over by Ako-san!
