Very cool. I can't say enough good things about what this Master is doing with his designs. All are unique and special in their own way. And they perform!

Chris, how would you compare this one to the regular A-Grind hybrid (that I love...<g> ) ? Looks like the head size may be a bit larger? Thx.
  3. JBeam Blackout with 7D still the all time killer for me. Can't imagine better feel, but then I couldn't imagine the 7D until I felt it. If I ever get over there for a fitting in person, maybe I'll get a chance to feel that L01, Chris. As a side note, how would you compare that Elite grip with a standard Tour Velvet?

The A-Grind hybrids are absolutely top notch. Long, straight, no hook tendency, and great from fwy or rough. They don't get the props they deserve. Fantastic little clubs.
  5. FWIW, I do think the only way to know is to try them, but from what I read between your lines, your feel preference is similar to mine. I've gone toward lighter as, for me, it suits my smooth tempo and allows ME to hold up better over the course of a long round, as you mention. Light does not equate with whippy for me either. The OTi in 85 R-flex may not be PC among all golfers, but as I said in an earlier post, its smoothness, length, and tight dispersion has totally won me over. It def feels more tip stiff than Steelfibre. In fact feels more solid and heavier even when it isn't. I'm putting it in all my irons at the moment. Will be posting some NY bag pics soon. Give it a shot. I'd look forward to your reaction. Good luck.

Haven't gotten the A-Grinds back yet. Will shoot the P2's next time they come out of the bag.
  7. I did. And they lost. I'd be curious to hear how they compared to those STP's (?) of yours though.
  8. Just plain gorgeous!
  9. Are the grooves on this still non-conforming?
  10. If memory serves, I think "regenesis" was the name of a sci-fi tv show. It also rings an old Star Trek bell, I believe... Maybe Toyo-san is/was a fan or sorts... ;=]
  11. It may be just semantics, but the OT's feel smoother and a little more solid, or weightier, to me even though they're not heavier. I've loved the MCI's for a couple of years and didn't expect the OT to take me away from them, but it has. Both are noticeably long. No comparison to the Steelfibre which, IMO, was early to the party with the idea of a composite shaft, but completely falls to the wayside in terms of the feel in these new shafts.
  12. Beauties, all! Seems like the finishes just keep getting better and better.
  13. It's odd, the reason I brought up the cars, tHe way I can describe it at the moment is it's like it has more power steering in its feel. Feel is bigger, heavier, cushy-er, but smooooooth. Ball definitely jumps off the face though. Big deep sound too.
  14. I forgot one, too. Epon Zero-Kai. I haven't had time to find the perfect shaft for this one, but it's got a great feel. More Jag or Rolls type feel to it, whereas my gamers tend to be Porsche or BMW. An elegant killer, I'd call it from first impressions.
  15. Every now and then I'll hit a USDM driver in a store just for smiles, and to remind myself of the junk I've left (way) behind. Recently tried the so-called M1 and, bells and doo-da's aside, it felt like your typical hollowed out US parking meter on the end of a fishing rod. Numbers weren't even in the same ballpark as any of the JDM stuff I bag. Doo-da, doo-da, day...
  16. Agree these are great shafts -- smooth and long and tight. I've actually come to prefer them over MCI's. Doesn't hurt that the finish on them is stunning as well, a beautiful satin look.
  17. Those are sweet, Hutchy, sweet! Happy Xmas!

I'll be updating pics of both the satin P2's and the smoked A-Grinds. So far, a couple months in on the satin P2's playing them 3 times a week, there is very little wear or even patina. They've even been out in the rain once or twice.

Know you've got some nice sets to choose from, Mikey... <g>

Thanks, Brad, will post when I get them back.

I'm putting the OTi shaft in the full set. I've come to enjoy its smoothness. Plays a full club longer for me, too. (And it's quite beautiful in hand.)
  23. Looks exquisite. Would like to hear how that teflon black finish rolls.

Beauties, D.! And I look forward to seeing how they wear, too. The more, the better from my POV.

Ok, all copper heads, you know (some) of the adventures -- some would say obsession -- I have with copper on irons, but I feel like I have to put in a new word on the TSG Works Smoked Copper refinish. I started gaming A-Grind wedges earlier this year, and really fell hard for Ako-san's 56-onset. Something about it really clicked for my game. I was giving myself way better looks at 1-putts on all kinds of greens, it was magic out of sand, great on approaches high and low and from varying distances, and it quickly grew so useful that I was able to free up a space in my bag by taking out my gap wedge. You get the drift -- loved the club and it replaced Miuras, OnOff, Yururi, etc. in my bag of tricks. I was also really thrilled with the way TSG turned a set of P2's into copper satin for me, but I kept looking at the brushed silver A-Grind in the corner of my bag by itself. Beautiful but lonely... Then I saw a picture Ash posted of what he had Chris do on a set of Crazy wedges with the smoked copper refinish, so I figured why not, I'd give that a shot, too. It came back to me before Thanksgiving. So I popped out to the range over the weekend and took a bunch of my other wedges with it to do the test I always start wedges out with. And, oh my, as I told Chris, it was love at first hit. The ball jumped off the face high and straight and zipping with spin. Another hit. Same thing. I immediately put everything else aside and tried to figure out how to describe the feel. It's unbelievably soft, and as Chris says, it has an almost sticky feeling to it. It made the copper satin finish actually feel rough to me. Some more hits. Stop chips quickly? Check. Hit a high and a low one at the 50-yd barrel? Check. Full swing to see how far I could go with control? Check -- out to about 80 yards for me. Oddly easy to get distance. What's going on here? was my thought... This finish is unique. Big winner for me in looks and feel. And I've seen and played a lot of copper. I took it out on the course this week to confirm and actually holed out from off the green once and came close a second time. Bottom line, I'm in love. Feel like I did when I hit my first Miura. Can't wait for the next shot with it. And... I am going in full tilt and refinishing a full set of A-Grind MB's that Stew was kind enough to let me take off his hands in that inventory sale recently. Full A-Grind bag in smoked copper for me. Looks to be a fine Xmas/NY season this year courtesy of Chris and The TSGWorks boyz with their smoked copper masterpiece! ;=]
