yes, this is a good idea. the Epon "copper" finish is no doubt nice and unique, but it's not really copper, whereas with the TSG service, the copper underlayer really does use real copper to change the feel, then just finish it off in the smoked "copper" finish and they will look AND feel like copper!
  3. what size is the t.388? love mine and i guess I always knew it was smaller but didn't think sub 400 I've got an Epon Technity Forged Titan at 380cc that's still pretty long
  4. very smooth looking, and the deep face makes it look a little bigger than 350cc. when a certain someone gets done writing their name down on paper and posting in their ad, please give us another great real world user review! ;)
  5. love that frame walker bag! and where did you get those camo covers ?? Good luck, great prices on some good gear
  6. just saw the tsg marketing email, and man, they all look crazy good. simple, understated but strong looking. would love to hear about how that UT performs if anyone decides to pick one up.

I don't imagine it can get much better on price, someone has got to jump on this...good luck!
  8. Thanks Ash! After I saw yours, that's when I was bummed cuz you were able to keep the Yamada Milled on the face but the order was already in, but turned out great so no regrets. We both get to enjoy some Gold's-tuned Wide Blades now!
  9. lmfao
  10. Pretty excited about the latest package that came in. I recently sent in a Yamada Wide Blade Goose that I had purchased last year off eBay. Had some silly initials on the toe that needed to go, but I was worried about keeping the Burning Copper finish intact, as well as making sure the head weight would still be above 360g after the face would have to be milled to get the initials off. I wanted to keep it simple and preserve the classic elegance of Yamada's, but add just a little touch of Gold's signature styling, and this is what I came up with (w/ some guidance from Chris of course!).... I'm happy to report that the head weight came out to 369g after all the milling and face stamping (original was 381g I believe). I was a little bummed to lose the • Yamada Milled • on the face, but opted to keep it simple and replace it w/ a small Gold's "G" on the heel of the face and on the sole. I chose Horizontal PZ Milling as that has not only become my favorite, but it matched the horizontal lines on the back flange perfectly. She's rolls em true (well, at least on carpet so far ;) and the balance and feel is perfecto! The Smoked Copper finish is a good substitute for the original Burning Copper only Yamada does, and the dark paint fill contrasts nicely IMO. All in all, very happy and looking forward to the first round w/ this new beauty! BTW, for those that haven't tried the Elite putter grips yet, they are AWESOME! This one is the heavier midsize 80g one, but those new iB series are also great grips as they're heavier and offer a sort of counterbalancing effect, worth the coin!
  11. is yamalube for motorcycles (as in Yamaha lube)? equivalent to sword oil?
  12. Thanks Ash....played both? which do you prefer? Good pickup Mikey!
  13. Burning copper is a finish. None of the Yamada's are actually made of copper nor copper plated.
  14. Is this what happens when I actually do some work!?!? Missed out on some goods :( Are the Crazy proto wedges the same as the Toyo's?
  15. seriously!
  16. I know they are the same for the onoff kuros
  17. congrats nob, looking forward to your review of the shaft and its characteristics..

  23. So this has been on my brain, as of late, so I decided to do a little "window shopping" and started to kick the tires a bit by requesting some info from Chris. There seemed to be some mystery surrounding the whole process to get fitted, who would be building the driver if you didn't select the uber-exclusive Haute Couture option, and how the final product would be constructed, so I asked Chris to break it down. This information helped me understand everything a bit better, so just sharing in case there are others that are in my same boat, and just need to understand more before committing the coin. As I understand it, Haute Couture comes built free from 7D (along w/ the personalized custom fitting session). For those that choose the Matrix shafts, TSG will build for free w/ a 7D + head purchase. If you want 7D to build it, it is and additional $150. The last option is to have head and shaft sent separately for you (or your builder) to put the shaft straight in (no mucking w/ ANYTHING). The breakdown of the process is you pay for the head and shaft, then the questionnaire is sent from TSG to fill out. Once it's filled out, you send it back to TSG and they send to 7D, who then take 10 days to send TSG back 3 design options for the shaft: Distance | Control | Standard. You get to review the design options w/ their respective info and it takes 30 days to turn around the final product once you make your final decision. Depending on what build option you select, the shaft may go to TSG first, or direct to you either shaft only or built. With all this said, I'm still on the fence, but man, I really want to just jump right in!! Thanks to those that have shared their experience...you guys have done a good job at making me think, HMMMM, WHAT IF I....
  24. those shafts are beautiful, not even the right flex and i considered buying lol GLWS man, great setup and seems like a steal for someone!
