  1. When we (TSG Club Works ) take on a custom job for our customers we are especially excited when the clubs are unique, cool and even a challenge. 1 piece club forged club head designs are pretty easy to work with when it comes to refinishing, and they require no cavity paint but 2 piece designs bring its own set of difficulties which require extra time, communication and money. Today there are many people who offer golf club modifications yet few who understand quality. Want a beautiful super high quality finish? Ship it to Japan and allow our golf specific plating factories do what they do best. A few things first this set is now listed in the TSG Proshop we have only 1 in stock exactly as this so go at it! Next is we are not producing these on demand the work involved requires multiple sets at a time so all must be arranged well ahead of schedule. What is special about what we do are 3 basic things: 1. Design/Organize 2. Refinish using Japans best plating factories and spare no expense 3. We use the best cavity painter and theme When each one is done properly and with class the end result is an obvious quality. Two types of customers love our services the one who wants a new set of clubs done a particular way and the other who has a set of special clubs they love. Finishes usually run 65 per head and that includes quality paint fill work. Some finishes are 75 and if its a 2 piece head there is a small up charge. cavity paint is 50 bucks a head.. pretty steep on that but its a lot of tedious work and 2 trips to travel. Yes we do some custom grinds but find the loss of head weight means the grinds must be extremely subtle while expensive so maybe its not worth it. The Epon P3s are great irons, forgiving and sized between compact and mid. Its offset is minimal while it has a noticeable taper in its neck which is a good if you want balanced forgiveness without much gooseneck. This set was brand new before putting it under the knife and will sell at 2500 on the 7pcs of heads only. They are in the USA now but all the work mentioned done in Japan. In the box and ready to ship. The limited Epon P3’s by TSG Club Works. Product Details : 4-PW Heads Only Chrome Mirror Finish and Fine Matte Gray Paint.
  2. Welcome to TSG and goodbye at the same time then. You are a sensitive fella because that was the lightest of rants. - Yes we can have a driver made to exactly .79 or whatever you want. - Incorrect that any competent builder can bend drivers face angles, unless it is one of the few with a long hosel and they have the proper jig. Tour Issue has the edge in 205-210 gram heads.
  3. I know I don't. I do know the guy who is doing welding and grinding for Callaways most specific tour players but would never pass that on. Nor do I think his work is anything special. What are the benefits of tour issue clubs? What does a TC serial do for you? Sorry to slam tour issue clubs but your getting a club designed for less than 1% of golfers, Its also designed for another player. I can tell you that whats done in tour vans even on the PGA tour is nothing special. No magic or gimmick they are just install centers on wheels who build your clubs fast. Ask the guys in there about how the clubs are actually manufactured or materials or new tech or brands... lost. Wouldn't it be better to choose your head weight, face angle, lie, COR, paint, etc.. for yourself? Imo tour issue is a small side market to purchase clubs that have more open faces, heavier heads, or designed for the players on tour.
  4. Not for the money. They want 900 on the head. Its made in China. Its an open model driver head that they purchased a new sole mold for. Its Chinese DAT55 not Japanese DAT55G. For 900 bucks a head you deserve original design. Itobori is not interested in investing their own money to produce new and original golf clubs. They are interested in taking the cheapest shit and prettying it up to sell for expensive to Korean and S.E Asian customers.
  5. 2017 Mizuno Frame Walker Stand Bags are here!! Not sure how many folks here in the TSG community actually prefer to walk and carry their bags on the course, but I actually carry my bag pretty much all the time. My wife thinks golf is good exercise as long as I walk!! So I walk. I do think walking provides a better overall rhythm to my game where the walks in between shots give me enough time to think about my next shot as well as other things including how I should look into trying new clubs etc… you get the picture. :) When I occasionally ride, it seems to totally mess up my game. Click to read more… The 2017 Mizuno Frame Walker bags help you experience a stylish walking round of golf! They have collaborated with three premium Japanese fashion brands: Porter, Kinosho Hanpu and 241 & Co. Also new for this year is the Frame Walker Red which is the Mizuno Runbird version. All models come with the same rugged light-weight aluminium pipe frame as the base. Each bag provide plenty of pockets and zippered compartments to store your necessities to support your game. These bags are absolutely the coolest looking stand bags on the market today. They do cost a little more, but don’t you think your premium JDM clubs deserve a better carry bag? “Porter” is a brand owned by Yoshida & Co. Yoshida & Co is a bag company in Tokyo found in 1935. “Porter” brand was started in 1962 producing popular business casual bags as their main product line. While many domestic bag companies have gone overseas for their manufacturing, Yoshida & Co strictly maintained their manufacturing in Japan. For decades, they continue to be a very popular brand among younger men and women in the Tokyo business scene. “Kinosho Hanpu” is a company in Hiroshima that specializes in producing bag products using cotton canvas material woven with a rare weaving machine that withstood the test of time. Their craftsman utilizes traditional manufacturing techniques to create beautiful bags made of durable cotton canvas. Their designs only exist because this very special material exist. Without this material, none of the design ideas would have been born “241 & Co” is a fashion apparel brand in Kurashiki-city in Okayama which is known widely in Japan’s mecca of blue jeans. “Japanese denim?” High end Japanese blue jeans cost as high as $500 a pair or more. Their main line of products use specially treated denim material that gives a stylish worn look and feel. These highly fashionable jeans are very popular among blue jeans enthusiast If you like more of an urban look, I recommend Porter ( Grey, Black or Khaki ) and if you want your JDM clubs secured a durable Japanese cotton canvas bag, go with Kinosho. If you’d rather go with a casual American look, 241 & Co ( White or Grey ) may suit your style. And for the die hard Mizzy fans, Mizuno Runbird logo’d version to match perfectly with your Yoro Custom MP irons!! This Runbird model comes with an updated red anodized frame which makes the frame stand out even more! My personal favorite is definitely the Kinosho Hanpu with the very traditional Japanese design. It’s a good blend of an antique look and a very modern form of the aluminium frame. The heavy duty cotton canvas look very durable to last a whole lifetime as well. I think this bag would look great for the Seven x Shinagawa MBs!! No matter which model you choose, with the 2017 Mizuno Frame Walker, you are sure to attract attention on the course!!
  6. My plan was to not make these and jump straight to full CNC. But everyone who has hit this ST wedge is raving about them. I think a limited run is in order to not waste such a good product. These wedges remind me of the Crazy Toyo meets SDJ face milling. Truth is I sold out and don"t have any on order.
  7. Here you go sir! Its a players version of the same head, heavier, lower loft, square face, maybe internal weighting is different.
  8. They are heads that are pre-made for companies to adjust and stamp their logo on.
  9. The main reason why the new Ryomas are so good is the CG location is at the very bottom where as 99% of other FWs have a CG center of face. This makes the new Ryomas very easy to get airborne which is a huge plus especially for the F2 loft.
  10. I have the iron shafts in my MCBs. Just need to go hit them now.
  11. Check out the neck on this one! beautiful shape. Other putter companies don't have the ability to create a unique cad design to match the players needs.
  12. The perfect neck transition? For those who have never heard of CGS Orion Japan they make quality irons and wedges in Japan. If you want to read a bit more about the brand and look at the products they offer you can do so by (Clicking Here) The first thing that caught my eye about the new SYP-1 ProSpec is its shape, the neck transition is narrow and low, the head is compact and the shape is outstanding. Yes these are for the better player but that doesn’t mean mid-high handicappers should not consider them. Its all about your eye, your preferences and what performs best for the individual. Ok so one interesting tid bit is CGS Orion is claiming this is made of S16C. I don’t know where to go with this as its not a material sold by any foundry we know of in Japan. So lets figure it plays like S15C which is pretty soft. Add to that a copper under-layer + satin finish its designed to be very soft. These wedges are totally made in Japan. The forging, mold, and plating all done in Hyogo while the polishing is done in Niigata. It has no offset and the right amount of goose for the good player. This was done to create the lowest groove and leading edge better alignment for the player. Looking face on the heel section is straightened from the top blade and more narrow. There are many lofts to choose from 48/50/52/54/56H/56L/58H/58L – If interested TSG can also custom order you blast art on any CGS orion head or even a custom finish through TSG Club Works. Just keep in mind if you change the finish you loose the beautiful polishing done by CGS Orion. Hope you enjoyed the read and if your in need of a quality, handmade and forged in Japan wedge that is compact with a beautiful shape and neck transition. I strongly suggest you consider these.
  13. No probably not there has been little interest. We need something special and different. TSG recognizes brands for their materials, tech, a person behind it. Crazy, Loop, 7D, Waccine, etc.. they either all make their own shafts or have an interesting design theory AND are made by someone top notch. There is an over abundance of great shafts that we find to fit our swings. With TourAD, Fujikura, Diamana etc.. there is also a lot of other well made shafts to consider as well.
  14. The Galpha would be the least forgiving, lowest spin and least draw bias of those you mention. RD-450 is draw bias 535 is straight Glorious is draw bias ZY-11 known for straightness and low spin ZY-7 draw bias for straightness and low spin These are just how golf heads are designed with CGs closer to the heels and natural bias with the neck where it is. The weights dont do everything for us, they can simply increase head weight and slightly tune bias. Another thing that people dont realize is that all our irons are draw bias. The reason why they dont put CG locations in the dead center of the face is because it makes the club harder to square up. By simply shortening the hosel and reducing the weight toward the heel the cg moves toward the toe making it more fade bias. Even the most players blades are toward the heel of center.
  15. DERAMAX likely found a dealer in Thailand who got some buzz going but they are not considered hot anywhere else including Japan. When shopping for expensive shafts look at what they are made out of, is anything proprietary?, who makes it, etc.. In the case of DERAMAX. Its 4-Axis with graphite cloth based so its not what we consider advanced. Can it fit the player? Sure! Is it better than everything else, not even close.
  16. The all new JBEAM 445 GALPHA – The forgiving players driver. The user feedback has been outstanding. The Galpha was released a couple of months back and has now had time to make its rounds. The Galpha is a 445cc driver with a fade bias by design. By adding a heavier weight to the heel you can bring the bias back to neutral and by using a lighter toe weight and closed face angle slightly promote a draw. That big bold and beautiful JBEAM face we all love so much made with a secret face titanium and head designed to produce a low spin / mid trajectory ball flight. The laser engraved face milling is supposed to stabilize spin a little as well as improve wet weather play. Its got a seriously deep face just the way Jbeam fans love their drivers. I now own the ZY-11 and JBeam Galpha as 2 of my main 3 gamers. It started off as the ZY-11 vs ZY-7 and I simply favored the foamed muted feel of the 11 and its strange extra tall face. The ZY-7 actually favors a draw more than the ZY-11 does. This Galpha sits between the 435 and the 535 which in my opinion would be the sweet spot. I love the 435 blackout.] Comparing the ZY-11 to the Galpha you can tell they are bothers but the experience is totally different playing a round with the two. Both are low spin just the way I need it. the Galpha launches slightly higher than the ZY11 yet the 11 is straighter more consistently. What the Galpha has that the ZY-11 doesn’t is those freaky long drives reminiscent of the 435 when hit in the center. As always with Tourspecgolf & Jbeam you have custom options galore. 9.5 – 12* lofts and everything in between is available and thats not only for lofts but also face angle and to some extent even lie angle. These are traditional hosels as purists always love but Jbeam hand picks heads efficently to TSGs requests as well as offers hosel reeming where they drill the hosel at an angle so the shaft and ferrule sits a little off but gives you the couple of degrees extra on top of the hand picked head. So you can have 3* open or close with a more or less upright lie angle. Shaved to exact COR, Foaming and custom head weights are also options along with the choice of black or white head paint colors. The head spec of the club in these photos is 10* 200g square face and none of it is designated on the head. These retail at $650 and we are able to help you choose a shaft to suit your needs. I personally use 7D, basileus AAA, and Waccine in the heads I have with fantastic results. JBeam heads have a reputation for spin reduction, distance, and being pretty easy to it. This club while designed for the better player can easily be confused as not based on how easy it is to hit. Its 445cc size can also be easily mistaken as 460cc.
  17. No write up on these done yet. I have a set of the iron shafts just installed that I have not hit yet.
  18. Anyway yes on these putters we have putters coming in for photos and testing.
  19. Golf gear is my passion, I share my opinions openly for the day I can't this will no longer be enjoyable work for me. Every product can be improved. Exactly as Bngolfer says look at the Benock thread, he just takes it to a whole other level. No one can compare. Also there is no best to everyone. I am working hard to bring the rest of SEVEN to the same standard as the new CB and MCB. That includes putters etc.. Rouge, your putter is absolutely bonkers. I hope its the best to you and it is absolutely one of the best to me. The head is made in Japan by Kitada while the modifications by golds factory, It is one of our true prototype heads I believe.
  20. Used golf clubs are so expensive in Japan. Your way better off doing a WTB on forums. Victoria Golf for new stuff Golf 5, Nikki Golf for new stuff Golf Kids, Golf Partner for chain used stores Benock & Seven Dreamers would be where I would invest my time and money into while in Japan. Benock has a Tokyo & Kyoto location while Seven Dreamers has multiple as well. Best product, Best experience just pretty expensive but we deserve it sometimes. If you need help let me know.
  21. Wow those look excellent! Enjoy them and do tell how they work for you.
  22. Gravity Golf has captured success in the distance shaft market. Harada-san realizes the game of golf is not just about big drives but the fun is in the scoring. Naturally, the next step they want to take was to develop a game changing putter! As seasoned golfers stack up the years, a common problem that most players will face is loss of distance on shots that require youthful power and physical flexibility. Full swing shots are no longer their strengths, and when it comes to putting, they lose the delicate smoothness and touch in their strokes. There is no right or wrong in putting styles. Even Tour players are spread out in a broad spectrum of putting styles. Thus, there are endless new putter introduced in the market year after year. A unique design is essential for survival in this competitive putter market. Click read more to continue… Gravity Golf’s President Harada-san knew that if he were to introduce a putter, the design had to be radical and innovative. Ironically, the majority of putters today are still designed after a toe-heel balance concept. The most basic putter using this concept is the “Cash In Putter” Harada-san eyed on the “Acushnet Bullseye” putter design. The CG is located on the shaft line which enables the most efficient energy transfer at impact. Only a small stroke is needed to roll the ball a certain distance. Harada-san was after a center shafted, toe-heel balanced head with a feel that is unique to a center shafted putter and of course it needed to be a blade! However, a center shafted putter with a toe-heel balance naturally has a rather large angular face movement. Which means that if you miss the sweet spot, distance and accuracy will significantly be sacrificed. To move forward with this design, he knew that he also had to overcome this major hurdle. For seasoned golfers, a problem they face in their putting stroke is that their hands don’t move as smooth as they used to. It’s a painful fate of aging that they cannot overcome. By incorporating a bent neck center shaft, Harada-san thought he could solve this problem. “I probably bent around 30 shafts to experiment. 10 with the help of Shimada shafts and the other 20 were bent in my garage! ” ” My family got really annoyed after a while … :) ” He ultimately settled on a 4 bend point shaft design. As Harada-san was testing the shaft using a Mallet head, former Tour Pro Hidemichi Tanaka provided guidance telling him that a bent center shaft would not work well with a large mallet because the CG is too far behind the shaft. Roll will be compromised. Harada-san decides to design a head that works with his 4 bend shaft. The head design they came up with was a ” six plane symmetry” design. Top plane vs sole, face vs back face, toe vs heel are all symmetrical. Here the Gyelin Putter was born! Six plane symmetry head, center shafted using a 4 bend shaft. Though the functional objectives were met, Harada-san wanted to make sure that the users of this putter will be overwhelmingly happy with it. He felt that the sound at impact was going to be equally important for a putter to feel good. They created a resonator gap between the face plate and the body to create a resonating sound. The resonator gap dimensions were adjusted to simulate the sound of the legendary Ping 1-A putter. Gyelin Putter heads come in two sizes. A thin bladed design called the “Gyelin 4S” and the wider mallet profile “Gyelin 6S” A Limited Edition Gold IP face version is the “GRY10.” The “GRY20” uses a silver plated face. Then there is a head only version only available thru their certified fitting studios in a Satin finish called “GRY30. ” Users can choose between a goose neck bend and a reverse goose neck bend.
