If you like the Yammy Tours you may also like the 905 CB's as well. Yamaha makes great stuff! The new wedge as shown by Spoon has that same boxy toe as the Tour's which is something unique and very appealing to me.
  2. Sorry C, we decided to do Wedges first then move into UT's. On that note here are some teaser pics of a few of the wedges I've been testing.
  3. Our sources in Japan sent us some pics that were taken at the Byron Nelson Classic today. They were labelled Fourteen V6. Now It looks like the RAW blanks that Fourteen uses on the PGA & JPGA tour but a little speculation won't hurt right?
  4. The new products will begin to trickle in starting tomorrow. I'll be going over the entire wedge line tomorrow in the blog as well. It's quite the large line up, with all the different models it gets hard to keep track.
  5. What's changed is they released new product that's pretty impressive. Back in August 2010 what's known as the TM series today was under the label prototype and it wasn't the same. the TM-Prototype went super low! When it was released to the consumer they made it a bit more forgiving.
  6. It's always fun to launch a new brand, especially when its a complete line up of solid designs made for the better player. Akira Golf has teamed up with TSG and were excited as here's a brand that is offering us the ability to sell heads only of JPGA & PGA Tour Issue Products. I just completed a blog post with a brief overview of the brand, its backing, its philosophy, and what tickles me most about them. It will be listed in the TSG ProShop starting tomorrow. This week and probably the into the next I will be highlighting more specifically some of the products I think you guys will enjoy. Let's start with pics shall we:
  7. Yea they are available stateside as Japan didn't move as much as they expected to. I've tested it and it increases spin which adds distance but compared to the Prov1 or new Srixon balls It was a sliceathon for me.
  8. Both Miura Giken and International are S25C.
  9. No one has the new Shingo UT yet, it was just made available and is built to order taking a few weeks. They should be arriving to our customers in 1-2 weeks from now. I play the 2011 XUT in NS950, love it! flies low and is very accurate, nice feel and compact setup. deep face, I would imagine the ONOFF has a more shallow face but I can't be sure of that until its in hand.
  10. For me Egg is about 20-30 yards longer. I re shafted it last week with a Tour AD DJ-7 Stiff and this sucker is stable with a nice mid/high ball flight. Tried the Epon's and new RC's great woods no doubt but the forgiveness and distance doesn't compare. Based on pure visuals the Yonex & TourStage FW's setup compact and sexy.
  11. They take a few weeks because they are made to order. Many here have a set on order. I ordered mine with the 120g Stiff graphite shafts in custom white finish and black grip along with the Shingo Utility wood. I can't imagine anything beating the new version ONOFF forged, but these are supposed to be even more forgiving and still appeal to the player who wants minimal offset and a more playeresque profile. No feedback yet because they are being built for our customers but soon you can expect to see them landing at TSG customers doorsteps.
  12. Hey Stew, I usually get more workability with smaller grips and straighter shots with fatter grips. Have you tried the 905 Limited CB?
  13. Ok I'm back! Whats been going on? Managed to play at least twice a week. since I last posted. Fourteen Hi610 driving Iron Yonex Ezone Wedge The entire Akira Prototype line up Fourteen V5 Forged T.S wedge Lots of new clubs on the way! Keep you posted!
  14. Hey 52/58 thats my gig as well. There are so many wedges out there it really depends on what sort of wedge game you play. Conditions etc..?
  15. Yup I play Crazy Wedges Prototypes. Wow it's been 13 months they have been in the bag! That's a new record. Yururi Tour's are great if you play from tight lie's and have decent ball striking. Yururi Chili wedges are a bit more rounded, forgiving with more bounce, and Rupas is super easy to hit, one of the best from the bunker. Yonex makes a killer wedge as well. I never got along with Epon wedges ever since they got all futuristic looking.
  16. For me it's Ryoma, it's saved my driving game. Crazy 460 Jbeam 425 Tour TourStage 415/455
  17. I'm working on a quick review of the hi610 T.S. I've hit it a bunch along with the Srixon Z-UTi which I also love. Written review on the Fourteen in a couple of days.
  18. Yup I'm laggin on Video Review for the 905 Limiteds. I have been playing the CB's for 4 rounds and a couple of range sessions. The MB I have had the 8-PW in the bag to compare against the CB. I should have something for you guys by the end of the week.

Everything in that post is accurate except for one thing... The factory a mile down the road isn't known as the Miura Foundry. It's not known as that in Himeji or in the Japan golf industry. Maybe there is a secret secret building a mile down the road that no one knows about.
  20. I've been having a good time with the TourStage Milds and new Srixon balls lately.
  21. No not at all, I wouldn't personally get the yonex but it totally needs to be considered.
  22. Mizuno - Miura - Epon - TourStage - Yonex Blades... TourStage = 905 Limited Edition MB Mizuno = Custom Grind/Custom Finish/Custom Stamping Blade from TSG Epon = Custom Finish AF-Tour. (Can purchase laser engraving) Miura = Custom Black Finish MB5003 Yonex Blades (Nuff Said)
  23. I think the soles are wider than traditional blades, They setup perfect the shape is unreal amazing I took just the MB 9&PW with the CB's and I'm loving those muscle backs. They may be sold out now. I would have to check. Sorry assembled only, no custom specs, that all needs to be done aftermarket. These are the limiteds once a year. I wish they done some nice limited wedges this year.

oh man, don't even get me started on Kenmochi.
  25. Yea I guess it has been a stellar year for JDM equipment. We really invested a lot of time, effort, and resources into our relationships in Japan and continue to improve in all area's like photography, video, and customer service. Your totally right C about the putter scene. Drivers, Irons, Wedges, UT's everything else is off the hook this year!
