This SE80 sounds great in the FW's, Its pricey for a U.S offering also :money: I know Mamiya is the parent company of ACCRA and UST but was wondering if these shafts are made in Japan like Axiv?

Custom Club coatings - check this site out!
TourSpecGolfer replied to red king's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
CCC does great work #1 in wood refinishing IMO, I just hear it takes a while. -
The putter grips are 25.00 + shipping The Wood/Iron/Wedge grips are 18.00 each + shipping Very expensive yes but for those who swear by Ion energy its a must for the golf game.

They have all the U.S stuff and a few extras.... CG2 Type J with added tungsten Launcher Type J Launcher NC-x2 ( non Conforming Comp ) TA-6 Type J

Different companies have done different things, PRGR ( pro gear ) has different stiffness carbon crowns it actually expands at impact and compresses helping the ball jump off the face without increasing the C.O.R rating on the face. The FT or Hot series is different the majority of the clubs head is carbon and the more carbon the more....weird at impact it will feel. Do not think that all carbon drivers feel like the FT-3 most of the brands only cap the crown keeping it mostly titanium. The majority of the OEMS use it to bring the center of gravity lower by making the top area lighter, kinda like the new AMG Mercedes with its Carbon Top saving it 200lbs on the roof thus making it more stable and areo dynamic. Taylormade had the XR05 Cti 460cc carbon crown in Japan, that was a hollow thumping club w/closed face. I think carbon crowns work best in the Utility woods! Who remembers that ol plastic Yonex driver, not bad for its time...lol

Guys it seems Taylormade is max'd out with its inverted cone technology, The entire R7/R5 series all has pretty much the same feel and distance. Its all about the different sizes and shapes now. IMO it doesn't get much better than just the plain ol R7. Of course the SP700 Face Japanese TM drivers use are slightly longer due to C.O.R. This R7-XR is pretty much the R5TP with a longer heel to toe and the weighting closer to the face than rear, very forgiving indeed, more than the R5TP coming out IMO. I have tried the XR with the Fuji 553, Fuji Tour spec Rombax, Mamiya Axiv 6060M and the UST Proto in Stiff. 1st place Longest and tightest: Axiv 6060M. 2nd place Straight but a tad short: Tourspec rombax. 3rd place Easy to hit just no improvement over stock distances or dispersion: Fuji 553. 4th Proto was too stout and felt like a stick even untipped in Stiff flex.

Some people say Ion works others say its a gimmick, I'm not injured so I really cant say but I do know Iomic grips have the most concentrated Ion content of any brand. I'm playing the Red/black ones on my NC-1's and they are more grippy than a tour velvet and lamkin crossline. Pink is the color of my putter grip  I really like the orange color also.

It does have a very penetrating trajectory and the sound takes some time to get used to but its what I would expect of a driver with so much Carbon built into it. Its a dull hollowish thwack sound almost feels empty in a good way   Now days people are opening up to the idea of bigger drivers with Carbon technology. These V weights are changeable for tour players also, I guess they get add weight for the players to get them to the desired head weight...

It is a Foundry in Thailand and China that Manufactures and sells golf club heads, stainless products, and forged products in general. Different companies use different methods even within the Endo manufacturing facility.

I think he is talking about re-sale value being so low, most people who buy $1250.00 sets of irons sell them for at least $900+. good clubs though.

Roots in Hawaii has a 9/10 set of blank AR-1's for under $500.00.

When does Japan switch its Drivers back to .83 C.O.R?
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
There is probably a cap on the max size for a 3 wood and besides golf is all about integrity. -

TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Only Drivers can be non-conforming, The Fairway woods and Hybrids don't have a C.O.R rating and are 100% legal anywhere. -

TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I'm not to sure, but I always thought that the R&A was testing it on the Japan Tour and Euro Tours. It was always the plan to come back to normal C.O.R on a specified date. Recently Japan has been calling it S.L.E Spring Like Effect and putting stickers on most new model drivers saying the C.O.R will end on a particular date. Most JDM OEMS will stop making high C.O.R drivers in 2006 -

TourSpecGolfer replied to johnnypro's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
300 Tour is solid, its great for sure but it comes down to how you would use the term holy grail i guess. Same with the J340, I agree its awesome no doubt. -
Go to the adidas golf Japan website. There are tons of shoes you wont see in the states and they are made better than retail Adidas shoes. Check these out " Adidas I love Tokyo's" Notice the difference in quality, the black crows engraved into the leather. Just all around better stuff.
