Loud, or odd, sounding JDM Drivers?
Not loud for the most part, depends on which driver you choose.

New Modus3 105 Iron Shaft
Got these in play now and they are fabulous, trajectory for me is a penetrating mid/high, they feel a bit smoother than the 120s yes are a touch more stable and straight.

DOCUS DCI-702 Forged Irons
Introducing Docus Golf - A relatively new brand out of Japan with a designer who has been a part of the Japan Golf Industry for decades, TSG is proud to announce our new relationship with Docus after receiving samples of their clubs and evaluating them with very positive results. We have many different models to go over in the coming weeks but we will start with one of my favorites, the new DCI-702 Cavity Blade. Made of SS400 soft forged steel and featuring a double cut cavity with the workability of the blade yet with forgivenss like a players CB, the H back design helps to lower the center of gravity making these much easier to hit than a normal muscle back iron. After our testing we can confirm it is more forgiving than your traditional muscle back iron, it seems to have a slightly higher launch than most MB's and out near the toe distance wasn't greatly reduced as it would be with many blade irons. Made with minimal offset and a thin top line the new Docus DCI-702 also has a sharper toe which gives it a unique look at address, in regards to feel we found them to be just as firm as most blades yet the center struck shot on a traditional MB is a bit more pure at impact. The top line is in the sub 4mm range making it one of the thinner on the market, and below you get a better visual angle of it's stepped cavity, while it's not exactly considered parameter weighting it does have a similar approach by creating different levels from thinner near the top line getting thicker and deeper toward the sole. TSG is now offering these in the proshop as heads only or shafted, basic shaft options are available from the OEM while most customers will be requesting more custom spec'd builds from TSG Club Works. Base set is 5-PW with optional #4 iron.

PRGR 2015 Egg Driver Conforming
Bigger face than all 3 of those. Compared to Egg 7 it is similar yet launch is a little higher Compared to Maxima it's trajectory is for sure lower and more penetrating Against Zero I have no idea. I think its very forgiving, straight, lower spin, feel is great, looks a bit larger because it's 460cc, My best guess is PRGR has way more technology + R&D in their drivers than the Zero, Maxima combined. But that said, Maxima 7D combo is getting a lotta rave reviews from clients who have purchased it.

Soliciting Your Opinions on Three Iconic JDM Blades
exactly T-MB wins in all categories other than the pureness of the Crazy MB. Oddly we have many customers who pass on the T-MB because it is stainless steel, if they hit it they would think it's soft forged.

PRGR 2015 Egg Driver Conforming
I think you could but make sure you have a stable high kick shaft for your speeds. I think 7* is too intimidating so as stew mentioned it may have hurt sales. Sorry nothing about lefty yet.

PRGR 2015 Egg Driver Conforming
The new PRGR Egg drivers just released for sale on september 11th, a few weeks ago in the blog we covered the Super Egg non conforming version, today we are showing you pre release photos of the conforming version known as the 2015 Egg Driver ( no super ). This deep faced 460cc driver holds nothing back in terms of technology and materials, PRGR uses a titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) face with a titanium (Ti-8Al-1V-1Mo) body. Available in 2 lofts 10 & 11 degree's the standard face angle is listed at 2* open but the driver looks and plays very square, this is due to the unique methods prgr uses to design, manufacture, and measure their clubs. Ultra Deep Face, the new Conforming Egg Driver really raises high center of the club face making it great for forgiveness and players who miss high and low on the face. Overall after hitting the new egg driver for a couple of rounds it is indeed an excellent compromise between a players driver that packs enough forgiveness for a mid handicapper to use. This deep face produced a nice soft feel that wasn't hollow this is a straight of PRGR drivers a nice dense feel. The sweet spot seems big as mis**ts are punished less than other similar sized clubs, like all egg drivers the spin is low, trajectory is a true medium and the ball flight is very penetrating, it's a common theme with PRGR's players drivers. Like the super egg non conforming version it has the power flange to help increase rebound when coming off the face. While PRGR classifies this driver as high launch none of our testers found this as in 10* it played what we considered true to loft. As you can see in the below image -2.0 open face angle looks square so don't let this sway you it's simply the method PRGR uses to measure. Flexes are R2/R/SR/S in PRGR's original design shafts and there are custom shafts available through PRGR or more exotic options such as hot melt, foaming, and ultra top end shaft options from TSG Club Works.

Ura Golf
We are familiar with URA, many smaller brands now days and this one uses many models other brands have released just with a different flare to it like the driver and the irons. Tasteful adjustments in my opinion. We can get these if you want it, not so popular in Japan either.

Seven s15c Preliminary review.
Thanks Stew, Finish is actually bright Satin 56* has no offset It's 5.5 FP. 60* starts 6.0FP which is onset. 52* is 4.5 which is slight offset but for some reason you didn't notice it on the 52* and did on the 56* which has none. It's geared to the same target player as the Vokey and tested with mostly scratch players against A-Grind, Crazy, and Vokeys.

2015 Titleist Cold Forged Vokey in COPPER!
For the copper lovers TSG is going to begin offering Cold Forged Titleist wedges ready to buy in Smoked Copper by TSG Clubworks. It does cost more because we have to yank the shafts, send them in for copper treatment then smoke them dark by hand but here is how they have come out:

Hitting a 13 Wood?!
Ryoma has a 34* UT which is the only one I know of higher, any others?
-
Hitting a 13 Wood?!
Yes 13 Wood, not 13* lofted wood... 30* to be exact, not my kinda thing but we had one in and I just had to take it for a spin. For those who are not familiar with the Maruman Shuttle it is a very good fairway wood I would say easier to hit than the newest egg fw, Maruman put a ton of weight distributed evenly along the sole to help lower CG and get the ball up blazin fast. good for high handicappers but with some weight and a heavier shaft can do extremely well for a better player who wants a point and shooter. so first whacks were big high draws with the 13 wood after I got it dialed in and was able to hit it straight and super consistently as well, very high due to the very soft standard shaft and very easy to over power and send any direction but for a slower swinger I could suggest this club with ease. Anyway it was fun and this is a good club for those who want to get lofty.

OB: Great Forging / Knife Making Vid
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI've got some hand forged knives from Japan that cost a pretty penny, only issue is they have no finish so they rust with ease and Im not hardcore enough to stone rub them before each use.

JOP Grips
I have all the JOP grips. I like the concept and shape but yes the weight is very heavy and the quality is not there imo, there is a seem running down both sides that bothered me when I putt.

Ryoma regular and special tuning
That's a fake for sure.

My Pride and Joy irons just got a major update!
Yes 100 is only made in SX. 85 is only made in S. I would have liked 100g in Stiff if they had it but am happy I went 85. It's way more accurate than my OT95 and even my MCI100. btw its a stepped carbon design that Crazy purchased the patent for.

Fantastic session at 7D
It's all pretty basic questions, no secret it's just what they do with it that is the key. What head, current club info, swing speed, what they want etc.. etc.. nothing too deep or out of the ordinary. They use materials that are proprietary to Super Resin while everyone else is using Torray materials.

STP's are great! Playing the 85g in stiff model, you went 100SX right?

- Spining - question
I would say buy a good shaft and you don't need to do this. In fact doing this to a good shaft will ruin it. I only suggest it on filament wound mass produced shafts.- Fantastic session at 7D
The majority of our 7D users are based off the question system and the results up till now are no different from those who had the fitting in person. TSG has sold 40+ so there is now a lot of feedback. Targeting exact launch or spin rates is difficult even in person because there is that variable of the head and how it reacts to the shaft, what i find is that 7D does more than any other shaft co. to minimize risk of a bad fit increasing your chances of better performance. Most 7D users notice that the trajectory or arc has a "committed" ball flight meaning the little ups and downs or floatys are no longer present and energy is used more efficiently. A small segment already buys 1k+ shafts so why not get one fitted to the golfer, made custom for the swing and to match the head also made at the best materials & manufacturing carbon plant possible... Before 7D the 1k + shafts were outsourced to another co or worse made using sub par elements combined to fancy marketing terms. At the high end as of now nothing beats 7D.- Ryoma regular and special tuning
The words Special Tuning is on the side. Be careful about Fake Ryoma's.- My Grail....
It's a very good driver, it's a high launcher reminds me of how the Maxima launches in the same lofts, face seems small but it is indeed forgiving and straight. Forgiving, higher launching, good feeling, spin is mid/low. - Spining - question
